People presenting videogames to a mass audience hates showing gameplay in long stretches, best you can hope for is 5 seconds of game then 15 seconds of some guy holding the controller back for another 5 of the game.
Microsoft making Anchorman 2 would be fucking huge news.

If it's Nov 6th then I expect to see COD at Sony's E3 conference. Microsoft isn't going to market COD and Halo 4 at the same time. Maybe we'll see RE6 get 360 marketing(and an E3 spot) and they pushed the date up due to communications with MS.

Microsoft has been marketing both all along, though. I see no reason to change that now - especially since this is the last year of their CoD timed exclusive DLC I think.

Not really, they never ran Halo and COD commercials at the same time because the games had two months of separation. They could move from one marketing campaign to the next without stepping on their own toes. It's one thing to advertise Kinect stuff at the same time as COD as they are going after two different audiences. It's another to spend a bunch of money on two games that will be competing for the same audience.
The timed exclusive ends after MW3 which is why I expect them to move over to Sony. The exclusivity served it's purpose for MS and Sony is usually pretty good at getting in on something after it's peaked and headed downhill.
If Halo 4 is a big hit in early November it could cause people to skip their COD purchase a few weeks later and that's not something that will be lost on Activision. Might as well try and maximize their sales on the PS3 which won't have a competing product.

No beta, and a much more sped up development cycle than Bungie had for 3 to Reach, and ODST in the middle. Halo 1 Anni is 343's ODST right? So pardon if my math is off, but if the games come out in Sept of this year, isn't that a bit rushed compared to what Bungie did?
This is kind of the problem with MSoft only having 1 big pony every year... the pony HAS to come out, and the farthest it can show up is November. Sucks for 343, because I bet if they were given proper time they'd throw in the beta, and really polish this sucker to an insane shine.
Luckily, Halo 5 will get that long development treatment since it's safe to assume that will be on X720 as a launch title or something right?

Anniversary was dev by Saber Interactive, not 343. Halo 4 has been in the works for bout 3 years.

343 just oversaw production of Anniversary, they didn't develop it. They've been working on Halo 4 since Halo 3 ended. Also, no beta, you are right... that should be in favor of their time spent working on the game then as well.
Halo is still a big name but COD is the sales king in the fps genre.

I've got to imagine that CoD is releasing some time around November 9th - 16th. That's the window they've occupied for a while now.

September is Halo's month, they've done a good job of starting the holiday game sales early and I think it's something they should try and continue.

But that was specifically to hit the 10th anniversary of Halo CE. Doesn't mean it sets a precedent.
What if they believe CoD's time is waning and Halo 5-6 will be on the next console, the time to regrab the fanbase is now?

they will show something...I don't think they would go on a national(international?) television show that is aimed at their target demographic to just announce a release date. Seems like a bit of a waste.

I still don't fully understand the point of making any video game announcement on Conan. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, but it just seems out of place. While I am sure Conan has heard of Halo before I doubt he really knows Halo.
I'm sure they've love to beat Call of Duty to market again and release in September, but it's probably just not possible from a development standpoint without compromising the game too much. Same reason they didn't do a beta.
November used to be Halo month, I think they want to establish this new trilogy as the big gaming event for the Holiday season each time one launches. Perfect timing, Modern Warfare 3 not having the legs of Black Ops, pretty much a perfect spot to be in it seems.
