all these "movies" have shown me was that the story of Uncharted is actually pretty boring.

edit: boring is a bad word, bland is more like it.

Uncharted has pretty good gameplay, there are a lot of games you could edit into movies which make more sense (Heavy Rain, I'm looking at you).

haha @ the people who lack the self-control to ignore Wario's posts if they don't like them.

Uncharted games aren't very good movies so I don't think this guy had the best idea, but I am surprised it took someone this long considering their clear "cinematic aspirations."

I'm sure some of the superfans will arrive shortly to deny the motion that Uncharted was inspired by anything but pulp adventure novels of the 30s. Because being inspired by something like a cheesy 80's action movie diminishes the series, you know.

I've read Souls superfans denying the Berserk influence on the series and it's just embarrassing.

I watched the U2 one from where I left off to the end... I really really appreciate how well put together these campaigns are. I just wish the gameplay could keep up with the writing and that the writing could keep up with the tech.

Interesting. Shows the challenge all narrative games face - the gameplay gets in the way of the narrative for the most part.

Pity - 'cause right now I primarily like narrative or theme driven games vs pure games.

Came to see how much this played out like Shenmue the Movie, stayed for the Wario 64 talk.

Personally, he always makes me laugh. I especially like looking at his avatar AFTER reading certain comments. It always seals the deal.

Skipped through the Uncharted 1 video a bit, but honestly it doesn't seem all that impressive. All of the gameplay sequences are pretty badly edited together. It doesn't feel any different from watching a lets play and then randomly skipping ahead every few seconds during gameplay.

The Existence disc in MGS3: Subsistence did something similar, but with better editing of the gameplay sections. Although even then I found it pretty boring to watch and the order in which scenes played out was rearranged quite a bit, which didn't always work out well. I also seem to remember the video quality being terrible.

Ha, I have a friend who genuinely wanted exactly this. He started playing Uncharted 3 on my PS3, but then went off to school elsewhere. He won't have a chance to play the game for himself now, so he just wanted to see the story unfold.

I linked him the video and he was pleased!

This is what happens when a forum has some users with big personalities that are well known by the community, especially those that are on the more negative/sarcastic side of posting, there will always be some sort of backlash.
