There's sooo many games/things Nintendo will announce this E3, so I just envision them going rapid fire mode this time. Bombs everywhere!

Wii U features/hardware will definitely get the most attention though. But so many games...so.many.games.

Easy, there. Sony and M$ can still have a few bullets up their sleeve. And while they most likely won't reveal their next console, they might tease them. Just might.

C'mon.. you know they will.

If they're smart, they've learned the element of surprise from Nintendo..

What would a NLoZ actually consist of though? Both DS titles were top down view, so I'd assume we would be looking at a fully 2D game? It seems like an odd choice though, considering there isn't nearly the same nostalgia for 2D Zelda as there is for sidescoller Mario. I would prefer that they push the 3DS hardware and make something really pretty.

Not that I don't love AlttP, LA, etc, but there doesn't really seem much of a point to doing such a thing.

so do you all think E3 will start with 3DS?
i think they have to cover that sort of thing in order to segue into how much better they plan to do in the future. the ultimate proof of that would be how they're handling the wii u launch (lineup, features, planned support from developers, online features, etc)

YUP! I'm hoping that it's 75 90 non-stop minutes where they're flying through stuff, one after another, until the audience is exhausted and exhilarated at the end, and they don't know where to start their reports.

An E3 conference with too much news. A different headlining topic, depending on where you turn. Some outlets putting The Big Controller Secret on the headline, other outlets putting The Big Third-Party Bomb-Droppen on the headline, and other outlets putting The Crazy Online Feature on the headline. Chaos. Enthusiasm.

How much focus will there be on Nintendo's online plan? I think it's possible that they might not talk too much about it at all. They might do like they did with the 3DS and wait till they announce the launch date before giving full details.

YES.

They should just have one 15 minute long super-megaton trailer, showing every new game coming out. So many orgasms will be had within that time. I'd hate to be a journalist in the aftermath.

Sorry if this has been asked recently but did they confirm what day the conference is going to be yet?

Speaking of the conference, I want to hear as little as possible about the 3DS and how the 3DS is doing, sales figures, blah blah blah. 95% Wii U and guns a blazing, please.

No. I believe they'll do something along the lines of 2006. I'm sure they'll put enough focus on the 3DS though.

Not yet, but they probably will this week.

Honestly that would be a bad thing if we barely hear anything about the 3DS. I'd like it to be 50-50 or at most 70% Wii U 30% 3DS

I think they might start with the Wii. They will give out LTDs for the console, news on DQX (Maybe that is reserved for the Japanese conference), and a montage of classic Wii moments (including the drum guy). haha

No way in hell they'll waste time on DQX unless it's the Wii U version of the game. I sure hope they don't waste any time on Wii. It's time is over.

If Wii U street pass is legit, Multi-plat smartphone app is the way to do it in the US. A general Nintendo Network app on iOS, Android, and RIM devices would be transformative for Nintendo. It could be a combination of Mii Maker, Street Pass and eShop browsing/purchasing.

Thing is it will depend on the phone as something like the 3GS iPhone can't do (Because apple don't allow it) adhoc connections. That said there's still millions of other phones out there that probably can and Nintendo making a special card/chip etc does seem a little silly and annoying to have to carry around.

It is. I better shape up though because I need a console. And my heart is set on Wii U.
You two crazy old buggers!

They'll make a killing off this.

They'll at least kill my wallet.

Did Skyward Sword even break 1 mil world wide? I think they should sit on Zelda for a while, especially after the 2011 overdose. EAD needs to show some new IPs some love.

I'm hoping that Nintendo goes 15 minutes for 3DS, and the remainder for the Wii U.

Yeah but I don't think Nintendo has outright lied on that level, should they go against what they said. :p

True, but they've couched their language in non-committal terms.

They say things like "We have no plans to do such-and-such.." and if they decide to show their new consoles, they can simply say that plans change. I'm sure that no one's really going to crucify them for such a move.

Going back on topic: So if the Rayman leak is anything to go by, does that mean Wii U's shtick with time will be primarily NFC? Or is there also something else at play that could probably not be demonstrated by this 2D platformer? Something online perhaps?

Yeah. With GoW:A and Halo 4 at E3, this will be everyone's E3. Plus, Sony needs to do something about Vita. I'm predicting that 3DS will sell twice as much as Vita in the April NPD. For once, my prediction makes sense and will probably be pretty close to the truth, so Sony really has to bring it.

SS is the fastest selling Zelda ever. As of December last year it had sold 3.5 million copies WW.

:(

The 3DS needs more time though. They haven't announced anything new for it in a while and I have yet to see Paper Mario 3DS. Come on guys 3DS needs some loving too.

Sorry.. I've long held the belief that Nintendo sometimes focuses too much on its handhelds in general, to the detriment of their home consoles. In a way, they're the anti-Sony on this focus issue.

Serious question? It's about 3 and a half mil ww.

Yeah, serious. I know it fell off the charts pretty fast so I wasn't aware. I still think Nintendo should take a Zelda break for a while.

Well it did have the largest possible audience for a console Zelda ever... not to knock it or anything. Those units sold are respectable, ww.

At this point I wonder if they can even do 75 minutes. Just what we know about now is more than enough to fill that time between the 2 systems...

If Iwata isn't lying about having "rich third party support from day one" the sizzle reels will be EPIC.

What would really clinch it for me is if guys from Capcom Crytek and Irrational came out wearing troll face masks and announced their games for day and date release with SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED GRAPHICS. (mind you I'm well aware the chance of this happening is near zero.) I'd mark out, HARD.

Easy, there. Sony and M$ can still have a few bullets up their sleeve. And while they most likely won't reveal their next console, they might tease them. Just might.

I can't see Sony or MS teasing their next consoles at E3. They'll either show them or they won't even acknowledge that they exist. That way they can continue to push their current hardware. Both are still selling pretty damn well, so they can easily ride them out for another year or so. Especially since they have heavy hitters coming up for them.

With that said, I could see them announcing their consoles at some point after E3 if it appears that the Wii U's momentum is picking up substantially. And that seems like a real possibility given all the rumors about the Wii U.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
There's no guaranty Nintendo will take E3. Not when this is Nintendo. I'm sure Microsoft and Sony have a ton of goodies and big surprises they're holding back for E3 (though I expect more leaks closer to E3), and I'm not totally confident Nintendo will pull the Wii U re-reveal off.

A chunk of their conference dedicated to ports that will show up on other platforms, even with Wii U gimmicks trying to impress, just wont cut it.
