I've never been banned. I remember my first or second post I posted a spoiler in a Lost thread where you weren't suppose to spoil anything.

I got so scared, erased it immediately. People were mad and I thought I would be banned as soon as I got approved. :p

Never been banned since 2009. Seeing so many greyed out names in my four years of lurking (started when Revolution rumours were heating up!) lead me to believe it would be happening all the time, but nope.
I am a bit paranoid this year that it will finally happen right before E3!

Member since 2008, banned once, left juniored after that for long time, had to ask the reason for the "juniorization" for that long time frame (8+ months or more) and returned to regular member again.

What the hell did you do to get banned for a year ? That's like... Burnt Pork territory.

I never managed to get banned anywhere, am I unkewl now, will I be hung up on my virtual underpants?
I'd rather be kool, but I guess I can live with being kewl ):

He didn't even have to say anything ):
That's what bugs me ):
Could have just come on stage next week and spouted out the details, instead he leaves us hanging.

You're considering this the wrong way :p

When i tease (and it's sometimes not the case, like yesterday), it always have built-in hints to nurture the speculation, push people to take another look to previous infos (some of the data has been overlooked so it's a method to gave them more attention). It's more fun. If the roles are reversed, i would prefer knowing someone with info will stick to the thread, try to spice it up with teases then disclose its info every now and then, rather than reading a cryptic 2 lines post drowned in the middle of Thread titles & Retro discussions :p

Anticipation & fun >>>>>>>>>> discretion for this kind of thread, for this subject, an entertainment.

And i must say that someone has found what i was teasing !

As much as I understand the frustration people have with IdeaMan's particular style of teasing, is it possible for people to knock off even silly-intended threats of harm to him? That kind of youtubery is not the sort of stuff that Nintendo fans should be made of.

edit: Hrm, I'm getting too serious-face today. Must be something in the free smoothies they gave out here at work.

Annoying Frenchman looking for a bodyguard :(

I was banned during E3 2010 week, which was an awesome Nintendo year =(

And it wasn't even a meltdown or anything like that... I insulted someone over getting scared of a trailer or something.

Yeah I kind of hesitated with that post. If Retro is working on some amazing new IP I'll be very happy. But I still want my poor, abused Metroid.

If nothing else, I'd much rather see Retro back on Metroid than Star Fox. Not that I have too much against SF, but if any established Nintendo franchise is a poor fit for an HD retail release...

Is it weird that I'm totally nervous about being banned?

Especially strange seeing as most people don't even acknowledge my posts anyway. :p

Awaits "Are you new here or something?" joke response

Support for more than one Wii U tablet. I'm calling it. IdeaMan already hinted a while ago that devs have been experimenting with it, which should mean that the system could handle the added streaming bandwidth. He probably recently found out that a dev is going to go ahead with it for a game.

So someone has correctly guessed what IdeaMan's tease was?

Here are all the guesses people said after his initial post:
Obviously the number of uPads supported.
UE5 support, confirmed. Samaritan 3, exclusive to Wii U. Everyone's shit, lost.
The wii u controller is plushie and can be used as a pillow. Game and then take a nap on your porch.

I guess it's not that hard to guess which one was real ;-)

I don't know, seems like only a prediction.
Still if Xenoblade Chronicles outsells The Witcher 2.. that would be most interesting.

As much as I love the Witcher 2 on PC. I could easily see it being passed over in the States on the 360. April is generally a slow month and with Xenoblade and its hype and limited availability I could see it charting high even if sales arent amazing

It is pretty obvious that it's either about the number of controllers or the controller's form factor.

An interview of Renegade Kid with a little tidbit about the Wii U

NE: We’ve heard that Nintendo will be very download-centric on the Wii U. Will you be taking advantage of that? Will we see some Renegade Kid games show up on the Wii U?

Jools: It is possible.

NE: Without pushing you into any NDA-breaking details, is the Wii U a system that has you excited from what you’ve seen of it so far? Tell us the exact specs! :p

Jools: I know as much as you do about the hardware. :)

Gahiggidy

My aunt & uncle run a Mom & Pop store, "The Gamecube Hut", and sold 80k WiiU within minutes of opening.
If Aonuma is to be believed, and console Zelda wont be going back from WiiMotion+, then I could see this being very accurate. The Wii U tablet will act as map, compass and Link's satchel.

Well, that sounds like an awful idea. What are you gonna do, have the tablet in your lap the whole time? Arrange to have a night stand in between your self and the tv set?

No, I'm pretty sure Nintendo will make the tablet a central part Amy new gameplay elements in the next Zelda. It will probably end up as a symbol of a new magical device in the game. For example, it could act as a "mirror of truth" that you hold hold to get a first person view of the world but that reveals secrets or maybes even past and future events.

I nominate GameplayWhore for the new thread maker, as long as he does his awesome summaries in the OP.

Also, I've always accepted IdeaMans posts before but: Do anyone else feel like these 'hints' and supposedly fun little games are becomming desperately close to attention seeking?

I actually REALLY believe Retro is working on Star Fox. I would love a new Star Fox as well, and I think if it happened it won't be a fully on-rails game. The graphics would would be amazing, but I see what you mean about a retail release.

GBA playback on the U-pad confirmed!

He's French, so i suspect the translation for that would be "cartouche". I've seen him use it a couple of times, and the more ample translation for cartouche in the context he uses it, would be "shotgun shell". Also used in sports terms for instance when a cyclist tries to break away from the leading group (and makes a huge effort), it is also called a "cartouche", because those efforts are limited (like, you have 3 "shots" to fire before you blow yourself up). And i think he uses it the same way... but more like "dropping a little bomb".

I second the motion. Dude's summaries are fantastic.

Naah. I see it as him trying to stretch his content out in the time remaining. I know I don't want him to shoot his wad all at once right away, and some hints so that we can play the guessing game can be a bit fun.

Then again, I'm really really patient. The next five years are going to fly by, and this is soon going to be a distant memory. I could see how his playfulness can be frustrating.

What is that thing on the top edge, next to the R button? Looks like a brightness slider or something. Never saw that before.

EDIT: Nvm, it's in other pics. I just never noticed it.

Judging from this sketch, i would think it's for connecting the wrist strap.

yeah, i crave for attention, to push people to visit my personal blog with 100 links of donations to gather more dollars than every IT companies boss combined, to feverishly talk about me in the streets by praising my name, to see a fame built around my nickname that i use on 10 other boards, and capitalize/profit from all this to be rich/known/loved.

(of course, everything is false as i only post here, only use this name here, my gaf contribution is totally separated to everything else. I really don't see what i gain from that. You only have to take the hints & teases as attempts to spice up the thread, to have fun while waiting for E3, and consider all that in a light-hearted way :) )

That gameplay element can be used in a game where the protagonist can see the past or future in some way. clues can be shown by the subscreen when a different scenario for items or characters play out on the subscreen when looking with the subscreen.

For example in games similar to indigo prophecy or alan wake and even a game like silent hill, instead of flashbacks the character can have interactive real time flashbacks that don't break the flow of the game or other characters in the scene. In a game such as eternal darkness 2 a character is able to view events occuring in different timeframes at the same time in order to understand clues about a future event.

If this is even close to being true, it shows Nintendo of America up as a bunch of incompetent fucking morons. They'd be kicking themselves for making it Gamespot and Nintendo.com exclusive. Not to mention passing on The Last Story.

GameStop

And I feel like the whole Operation Rainfall thing was perhaps the best thing to happen to the game.. in a bizarre manner since it gave it a ton of exposure.

At least this result means that Monolith's next game will probably get a true localization effort, if it wasn't already. I hope they have a trailer ready for E3 and it gets a spot on the big stage.
