We were having this discussion in another thread about how it seems that black people are hated or distrusted no matter where they go on the globe. Even countries and cultures that have little to no contact with black people seem fearful or at least wary around us.

But on the flip side Black Culture is so widely assimilated.

Some people - ignorant, foolish people - still feel superior because black people were once enslaved by their ancestors. Racism is still prevalent and will stay so for all eternity and so will generalization and fear of the unknown.

To put it in perspective, my 16 year old sister is autistic. She can ask for things but outside of that, she's non verbal when it comes to conversation. She has no idea about most social constructs out there, she just does what she wants.

Well, she is obsessed with black people. She loves them. Se cuts pictures of them out of magazines, wants to hug them in public, gets the biggest smile when she sees Randy Jackson while watching American Idol, etc.

So yeah, it's learned. A lot of people hate black people because we've been taught (not necessarily explicitly) to hate black people.

People who've tried to rob/steal from me: It's happened twice. Both time people were black.

People who've tried to cause me bodily harm: By far white people. A couple Asians here and there.

People who I trust the least: Asians.

If I discriminate against anyone, I suppose its Koreans.

As a black person I would say that a big part of the culture that is isinteresting is not normal black culture and the black lifestyle is barely assimilated and is used primarily for entertainment purposes

That said, I don't think blacks are hated as much as they simply aren't a group worth copying. I think that they are being accepted more and more (Strangely enough I think this has little to do with any actual strides they've made).

My theory in America is that the only way to enslave a human being, rip them out from their homeland, force them to work, build, breed...etc would be to deny them their humanity. How can you visit cruelty on that much of a scale if you consider the person the same as you. Hence the notion that we were just animals that had "no rights which the white man was bound to respect."

The concept that these filthy foreign beasts should be considered equal was repugnant to many then. Not all. But many. And unfortunately that sentiment has been passed down and carried around the globe. And through the generations.

Many people ONLY know about black people what they see on TV. Shit, many people in America only know blacks in that capacity.

Black people (Antis) are right after the Turkish, followed by the Polish. The reasons for the hate are different, though, it's hard to make a top 5.

Not necessarily, some of it is an intrinsic fear of the unknown. A young kid 7 or 8 years old on my street when I was growing up answered the door to the first black person he saw in real life, and started crying his eyes out. His mother was mortified.
