We're working on something pretty interesting for the Halo 4 OST. Potentially a second disc of remixes. Wanted to think about it as a compelling counterpart to the "narrative" flow of the main OST, so we could keep that "pure" but work with some top electronic musicians to do something else ona separate disc, something you could play in the car without driving too dramatically or crying.

If it comes together the way we think it will, it's going to be pretty amazing.

I have no idea what kind of electronic you'd be going for, and if it'd be like a Tron: Reconfigured kinda thing, but either way, these are some folks I'd be interested in hearing on the album!:

SBTRKT
Mat Zo
Zedd
The Glitch Mob
Andrew Bayer
Ratatat

Ratatat and The Glitch Mob remixes would be

edit: also the obvious choices like Daft Punk and Justice (I guess maybe even Deadmau5, but ick please keep him away from Halo).

also ++++points for halo 4 theme (major lazer remix)

I want a Technicolors remix.

Thanks to SSX, broadening some of my music taste, I have grown fond of TRS-80.

That's a thing?

Hell yes it is!

It's essentially cheesecake mixed with peanut butter in an oreo crust, topped with homemade chocolate sauce. My favorite desert.

Of course, I live in the South, so it's pretty much pie-flavored diabetes. Still worth it.

Get Trent Reznor/Atticus Ross on that, too. Fuuuuckkk that would be amazing.

Hell no. I had no issues with Reznor until he started peddling himself as a film composer. He's a hack who creates dissonant ambient noise that's often just ripped off from his NIN work. And he did a nonsensical electronic "In the Hall of the Mountain King" for The Social Network.

343i should in no way let that man remotely near Halo.

Halo 4 OST disc 2 will not be complete without it

Drop the bass

This is so mediocre :lol

Hey, if H4 has an EDM disc 2, I'll finally be able to incorporate it into my DJing :>

man this is just the worst opinion ever! :( I count 1 track on The Social Network that was similar to his NIN work, and that's because it was literally just that same track slightly remixed. The Social Network and Girl With The Dragon Tattoo OSTs are amazing and both very focused as compared to Ghosts I-IV, which was just all over the place.

Dissonant ambient noise, really?

Neil Davidge was asked if he'd be doing this in the facebook livechat, he said he'd have to speak to 343 about it. Does this mean a question from a facebook live chat lead to this extra CD? That's pretty epic.

The Social Network soundtrack is amazing. Haven't heard the soundtrack for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo yet.

It's literally amazing, for real.

This is not bad. For some reason though, it bothers me whenever people sample spoken words (Triple Kill!). It's just annoying :|

With all this soundtrack talk makes me remember that I should hunt down the Tron Legacy soundtrack, now that was awesome.

The remix album is better. (Is that a controversial opinion?)

Well now I just don't like you.

Sadly you don't get any points for being the five thousandth person to come up with that one. :)

Indeed. They did an excellent job creating the sonic companion to the grid, and there was a lot more going on than just their usual stuff.
Sadly you get negative points for having one of the shittiest opinions I have ever read. :)

You know, I think you are going to enjoy the shit out of SpOps.
I know you weren't speaking to me directly, but seeing as how I'm about as passionate for Firefight as Ghaleon, your words make my nethers tingle.

It would be a mistake to think of it as a literal replacement for FF - it has more differences than similarities, but the scope is VERY different. It will scratch that itch for sure, but it's pretty different.
My only real concern is longevity. It sounds like a combination of campaign and Firefight, which to me sounds perfectly awesome. I do have fears that it won't reach a wide enough population to warrant subsequent episodes/whatever it was you call it, which would be very heart-breaking

Dude, you're hitting me in all the right spots. I have a total of a 50 mile commute to and from work every day, and listening to a non-buttrock version of Halo music would be a great way to spend that time.
