RE5 is my most played coop game, so this is good news for me. DS2 sapped all the horror out of the franchise anyway, so I'm not worried about lost "ambiance."

Well, I guess this makes sense. DS2, good as it was, already traded a lot of its horror for bigger production values and set pieces, and the obligatory multiplayer component, so I guess this is the next step.

In other news, Co-op Dead Space sounds awesome. The game's never really been hot on psychological horror but sharing the jump scares with bros could be amazing.

I would be ok with dead space going in this direction. Coop is a great thing for games to have. But! I do like the original dead space and its presentation, a little too much monster in the closet, but it had great design and atmosphere.

crazy buttocks is a really old gaffer from back in the day; before any of the additional member thresholds were added.
