So Nintendo won?
I think we called that fight quite awhile ago.
So Nintendo won?
Meh. It seems to be purely speculative ATM. Nothing to get worried about.
Now, for the rest of the thread to devolve into an orgy of mourning for SEGA.
Alternatively, this MIGHT explain Nintendo's sudden decision for a Nintendo Direct on Sunday. They're buying out SEGA, and needed to clear room in the E3 show for the announcement.
Just SEGA Europe according to the French source.wait, is it just Sega Europe to make no more AAA games or is it Sega in general?
Sega does what nintendon't.
...
Buy Sonic, Nintendo.
To be honest I'm kind of hoping this is true so that Platinum Games can find a publisher more willing to push their games.
This would not exactly be in line with the new strategy they announced, so I suspect there's some level of exaggeration to this report.

Nintendo buying out Sega would be awesome imo. They would still let them have a lot of freedom but they also would bring Sonic back to his former glory and wouldn't let Sega make asinine decisions.

Obvious bullshit. Who will distribute Sonic in Europe?
Laughed out fucking loudSo Nintendo won?
Small consolation if they don't localize them. :/Sega's western studios are moving to social games, but Sega's Japanese studios are still going to deliver console games, yes? Please?

translate by google :
. Sega Europe closing
. No more AAA games from Sega.
. Last AAA game announced by Sega at E3, developed by Creative Assembly.
. Sega will focus on mobile and tablet games.

Seriously? It's not like there's anything preventing Platinum from making deals with other companies. They're already working on a game for Konami.

I mean, they intended to pare down their console efforts *HEAVILY*, but they still expected things like Sonic to exist and certainly to make digital titles for more than phones and tablets.
