A young buckamazing-spider-man-review made testy by grief, a rebel without a comb, Garfield nails all bases here, star DNA aglow. Stare-y eyes melting, he’s winningly earnest; lithe of physique, he delivers in the dust-ups; blithely gatecrashing Gwen Stacy’s bedroom, he gives good dreamboat. (Total Film)
lol What the fuck?
"blithely gatecrashing Gwen Stacys bedroom, he gives good dreamboat."
I'd love to give Emma Stone a good dreamboat, ifyaknowwhatimean.

That is one of the worst written sentences of all time.
Sounds like a sentence Expendable writes on his website or whatever the fuck he goes by now.
And here we go.....

Have been invited to a last minute courtesy screening of SPIDER-MAN. I believe it's 10 hours after embargo goes down.
People care more about the witty OT than they do about the actual film.
Says a lot.

I don't know how you came to that conclusion but okay.
I don't think so. They don't need to follow it by the numbers exactly, butI really do wonder if they're going to do that. Especially with how it actually happens. It's way too fucking grim for a Spider-Man film.Peter's web snaps her neck
Yeah i'm not buying it as well. There may be internal strife between the employees or something but nothing grand enough to indicate a big agenda by Marvel Studios or anything.Marvel wouldn't want this movie to fail. Spider-Man 3 sucked but, as we can see right now, Spider-Man is still one of the big three names of comic books. If Amazing Spider-Man fails, that'd only hurt whatever attempt at relaunch Marvel Studios would make. Especially considering Sony does seem to be more willing to cooperate with them in the future.
Same here, he's a great actor and more importantly he KNOWS spider-man. The way he movies and acts in some of even the Parker clips give me such an Ult. vibe, I think he's going to nail it.I never doubted Garfield. He's amazing.
I don't think so. They don't need to follow it by the numbers exactly, butfor example. But just thinking about that scene on the big screen gives me fucking shivers. If they do it right, the fucking agony of it could be translated so well. Guuuuddd.. I hope they don't do it in the sequel, it needs to happen in the third movie or the fourth, but not the second. That'd be too soon imo and we wouldn't have grown enough of an attachment that would make it impact full enough as on the comic level.she could already be dead before he even catches her
big tentpole blockbuster summer film and everyone here seems all 'meh' on it.
If they don't do it by the fourth movie i'll be pissed. It HAS to come, this is Gwen and it's part of her story, ignoring it would be some mega bullshit even by studio standards. In any way, shape, or form I would love this as well. I think theis doable and being very close to the source material. The worst part would be the audible noise. If the director chooses to get rid of all audio in that scene then it can easily be powerful. The only problem is the studio might not want to go in that direction.neck snap

If they do things right, they would introduce MJ and Harry in the sequel (possibly dating) and "do" Gwen in the third movie, with the fourth being about his loss and slow but steady MJ involvement. I think that whole 'two love interests' thing could play well with the modern/contemporary tone of the reboot, dare I say twilight style.
Love is an iffy thing in movies so it'll be interesting how/if they convince people that Peter falls in love with MJ so soon after Gwen..
Also, another good (real) review.
Gwen is supposed to be 17 in the movie iirc, so Peter is probably as well. That would make them seniors or juniors (probably the former) so in their last year of high school, setting up a graduation for ASM2.Makes me think what would happen if the movie did a time skip the same way the Raimi movies did with there being a two year interval between all the films. Wouldn't fit with the whole "highschool" setting they're going for, but even just a year passing would be acceptable. I may just want to see Harry and Pete in college together. By the way, do we know how old Peter is in the film? Or even, what grade he's in?

Unless that happens in this movie and just not a big deal (which I doubt).
Emma admits that Rhys Ifans scared the shiz out of her while filming!
Emma recalls:
"I was in the closet and The Lizard is talking to me when I'm hiding. And the actual lines for the Lizard are, like, 'I can smell your perfume' and they were playing over the loud speaker for me. But I asked Rhys to record something that would just really, truly terrify me. Not as Gwen, but me as Emma."
Not only did Rhys agree to do it — he did it really really well!
Emme confesses:
"He said some horrifying, horrifying things. It was awful. And he was so incredible to do it, but everyone on set was like, 'I'm going to have nightmares.' It was like being in a horror movie…He terrified the crap out of me…which was so amazing of him to do."
Both looking a bit interesting for the Paris premiere. Garfield is way too awkward of a human being to be rocking that look.
she looks just awful here, like an old lady
get back to eating and lay back on the make up
I'm curious for this as well. There has to be a recording somewhere out there of this and I need to hear it.
Btw, did anyone check out Tuesday's episode of The Daily Show? Dennis Leary was on and it was pretty hilarious when Jon asked why he signed on to the reboot when he already played the green goblin in Raimi's films.
Bahaha they even joke about how he looks like Dafoe in an episode of Rescue Me.Btw, did anyone check out Tuesday's episode of The Daily Show? Dennis Leary was on and it was pretty hilarious when Jon asked why he signed on to the reboot when he already played the green goblin in Raimi's films.
watched the film yesterday.... And i absolutely loved it! Andrew is the perfect peter parker! I'd give the film 9 out of 10 points! The pacing was a little too fast. There were moments where i really started crying, maybe because I've been waiting so long for this, it was such a relief to watch it ultimately.
goddamnit. This is exactly why I don't read comics anymore. I used to love reading Spider-Man comics but they just keep piling on this type of garbage to the point where I refuse to read them now.
The Amazing Spider-Man |OT| He Gives Good Dreamboat
He's looking old as fuck.
He looks like he could pull of a college age Parker, which is exactly what I want.
Holy shit, apparently Laura Ziskin died? She's been a producer on all the spider-man movies and I remember her from the hours of extras on the SM2 DVD set, and even in interviews for ASM. :\
[edit] ASM's production designer died too, wtf.
Is it just me or does the '$125m gross over 6 days' number that's being banded around sound a little low?
It's by no means bad or a 'bomba' but considering it's Spider-Man and opening over the 4th July holiday it seems a little off to me. Unless the studio is deliberately down playing the numbers of course.

Saw this as well, this stuff gets emotional for the hardcore spidey fans. :lolGoran from SHH gives two thumbs up (I don't know who the fuck this guy is but the posters seem geniunely happy to hear from him).
It would be stupid for them not to. Maybe not college, but they will at least have them graduate. It doesn't seem ASM will have big time skips like SM1 or the others did, though. (which is a general plus imo)They had college-age Parker in the Raimi films but he was still getting picked on which seemed strange to me. Even post college Parker would be great. I really want them to jump ahead and move away from the high school stuff for the next film.
That actually sounds quite interesting to me. Parker at college, still fighting crime and transitioning into adult life already loaded with responsibilities.
