Vita could really use an activity log app to counteract this sort of oversight. I know it's trivial, but I like keeping track of my hours :\
Totally agreed. I won't be rebuying a 3DS until SMT4 comes out, but the activity log makes it hard to play DS games on anything but a 3DS, because I like having my playtime recorded. The activity log is actually my most played software (I've opened it 98 times!). I've been playing a good amount of Mortal Kombat recently and I keep wishing my time was recorded. Gravity Rush's save time problem also makes the idea of an activity log attractive.

Maybe it'll come. Right after the alarm clock app.

Still don't have a Vita, but I'd like to know if anyone played Escape Plan and what they think of it. It looks really fun from what I have seen. Got the DLC for free.

I only played a little of Escape Plan, but it's nice. I like that the levels are very short, well designed for a portable system.

maybe i just imagined this or are the team that made Siren working on something for Vita? that would be amazing, it would work really well

Well, for those on a limited budget though it pays to buy smartly that way you can enjoy more quality content. I've got 8 Vita games preordered on Newegg at $10 off each. You really don't have to wait that long, at least for retail price drops. Assassins Revelations was half off within a week, SSX was just $10 and next week you can get Kingdoms of Amalur for $10. You can get Modnation Racers Vita for $10 today. These are within like 4-5 months of release and the game is still the same. If you can have patience and not fall victim to launch hype it pays dividends and can help you budget money for more games.

SSX (which isn't 10 dollars anymore since it was on sale for 39.99 + 30 dollar off coupon) and KoA need coupons from BB's @Gamer mag, but yeah, if you wait you can get some great deals off the physical copies. I'm waiting for my coupon so I can grab KoA for 10 bucks, pretty sweet deal. (now to find the time to play it..)

The only game I am paying MSRP right now is for Borderlands 2, but I'm getting a 20 dollar gift card from BB for preordering. I'm getting P4A and P4G but those are paid off in sore credit.

If you like touch/back-touch/gyro gimmiks, it's pretty cool. With the last update and DLC there are tons of levels

Any streaming options available other then remote play? Would be amazing if I can stream via PS3 media server.

DLNA logo was on Vita presentation slides. Unfortunately, we haven't heard any official confirmation so far. If DLNA is supported, then yes, PS3 MediaServer and a slew of other implementations should be compatible.

Well, you could remote play into the PS3 and stream the media server on that, but quality would be shit

Maybe the same update that will give PSone classics will also give DLNA. It could be the mega-update!

I did a full video review a short while back.

Vita actually has one, though it's a little different from what the 3DS offers. You can also see your friends' activity log from your Friends List:

You can do some Facebook-ish stuff with the feed. A playtime clock akin to the 3DS would be a welcome addition- maybe add it to the feed every four-five hours of play?

"FoomMan has played Mortal Kombat for Five hours!"

Unit 13 is pretty fun and I continue to suck at Hot Shots (reached the pro circuit). Also picked up Wipeout for $20 at gamestop. I now have wayyy too many Vita games.
I would punch a baby square in the face for a Team Siren Vita game.
Save that baby punchin'.

Kind of crazy how they had a hand in that. You can see some of the horror influences though.

In fact, every LiveArea has its own activity log.

Near has a consolidated one for all your friends.

The credits are playing for me right now as I just finished the main game.

Enjoyed it, more since the patches fixed a few little bits.

HSG is $20 new at Walmart, a very popular US chain. It's nearly $40 on PSN and takes up more than a gig of space on an expensive proprietary memory card. These are facts :\

In Europe, HSG has been as cheap as 10€. That is much cheaper than you can find it in retail in any store. :p

But SCEA get much better PSP deals :(

But I don't need an app to tell me what I've been doing; I don't have dementia. I just need it to tell me how long I've been doing whatever I've been doing because I like numbers :(

why are all of you so mean to babies

babies killed my family and kidnapped my dog

I so hope for that shit to come out. Then I can finally watch/listen media without filling my memorycard and having to convert files.

It would have been near perfect if you got notifications if someone commented on an activity in the log. I still like it a lot, but that would be a big step up - you could start a little discussion on one of the trophies you got, score you managed, time you beat, etc.

Yep.
I'm not a social-network guy, but it would be cool to compose short messages on the activity log (a la twitter), asking for tips/suggestions on how to beat certain bosses, how to get past that level, etc.

Back on topic, I would punch a baby square in the face for a new Locoroco/Patapon/Ratchet&Clank game.

Oh man, I wonder what mine says for ToMB. Give me a couple years and then check it for Disgaea 3 :)

I don't know how everyone doesn't have a Gamer Unlocked sub yet. It's much much better then GS Powerup Rewards and the discounts have been insane every month so far. I mean seriously, Assassins Revelations, Batman AC, SSX, KOA for $10 bucks and more coupons then that every month. I made my money back first month.

I think SCE/Other need to give some forgotten/early PS3 titles another shot on Vita with enhanced port with trophies and extra stuff (Like P4G/Sigma+) games Like Siren Blood Curse, Folklore, MGS4,Ridge Racer 7, My Summer Vacation 3,Untold Legends and Warhawk.

I should have clarified, I meant a game in the style of Siren. =P

so a horror game from Toyama you mean? that very unlikely since iirc Toyama said he want a sequel for Gravity Rush (it's his dream game after all)and the game surprisingly sold very well in Japan even when the Vita is doing absolutely nothing.

So yeah more Jumping Loli for ya.

Warhawk would be cool, but it did get patched for trophy support. Also, why do you want Ridge Racer 7 on the Vita so badly? Ridge Racer runs great and I have not experienced any hiccups. If you had gotten the Gold Pass for free, then paying for the Silver Pass and any other extra DLC would have raised the game's price to a little over $40.

The feed/activity log is more for your friends than it is for you, like a Facebook post. Like I said, more games should incorporate time logs through the feed- the consolidated one in Near is handy.

Believe me, I have much love for Gravity Rush. It's probably my favorite Vita game at the moment, but I would love to see this thing get some survival horror love.

That's what people who haven't played Gravity Rush are like, I remember those dark days of baby beatings myself.

Your logic is flawed. I have played Gravity Rush, and I still hate babies.

Folklore would be perfect for Vita, Gravity Rush really reminds me of it a lot.

Yup they are many similarities between the two games ,and yeah it it will be perfect for Vita since it will be a complete experience and not a down port because Vita has Sixaxis too, and if they want SCE can add 4 players co-op mode with new maps so people can hunt folks together (and boom they have a great co-op online RPG/Pokemon/Monster hunting game for free).

Well I love RR7 ( best game in the series) and I think the team can port it very well maybe even to let it run @60fps on Vita if they try and Bamco give them the time and money to do the port well.

It would never happen in a million years but I would love to see Left 4 Dead on Vita. Just imagine on Vita with voice chat.

Did any of you guys hungry for horror on the Vita play Silent Hill Origins on the PSP? I loved playing that with my headphones before hitting the sack.

Well, I shall include that in my feedback report to the BPA (baby protection agency), they really thought they'd solved this outright this time, damn.

Indeed, early in the system's life, exceptional, from SCEJ (well, Game Republic), comic book cutscene presentations, otherworldy RPGish. Folklore is the like the generation's classic time has forgotten. I'd love to see that IP being given another shot.

Your ability to sidetrack this thread into a Folklore discussion every five pages is kind of incredible.

I honestly forget what differences there were siffre from the game clocks... I got rid of my 3DS months ago.

It keeps track of how often you play a game, how many hours you've played and the duration of your average session. It also ranks the games based on those criteria and charts your playtime throughout the day. It's really a very useful app, and the Vita social thing doesn't even come close to matching it. I don't think my friends (all 3 of them) care to know what I'm doing.
