Contest # 4
Ode to the backlog: Play a game you own on steam but have never played before for an hour or so and post you impressions in the form of a poem.
Steam Summer Screenshot: Take a screenshot of a game and edit it to represent the steam summer sale.
Steam propaganda: Design a poster for the current community choice game that you want to win explaining why others should vote for it.
 
Nowhere near the records, but I'll submit it anyway. Looks like my laptop struggles a bit more on this than the Xbox does - not that I'm anywhere near the record times on that, either.

One move I pulled off which did leave me rather smug: on the section with two giant balls, I managed to bomb one ball directly onto the pressure plate. I guess the best times manage that with both?

All right, here's the promised video of my 3:55 run of GoL. I made a couple of sloppy mistakes in this one unfortunatly, most noticable in the room with the two balls, the fire trap an the last grapple. I managed to tighten up in a later run that got me down to 3:51 - however I didn't capture that video.

If you're lucky with the balls flying close to the pads you can probably get 3.4x - especially at the fire trap.

Man, that was really good. I could see a few things in there that could probably throw my time under the 5 minute mark if the contest was still running.

Anyway, the voting. For contest 4, I like Azih's idea. And for contest 5, if it was all done in the last 24 hours, I vote for Wok's gigantic manor. If not, I vote for LFF.

That was very fun to look at! Also, the bomb trick in the spinning fire trap was genius.

Nice. Only thing I did faster than you was the fire trap, I managed to bomb the ball onto the second switch from the first switch without touching it at all. Was really pure luck, though. The bomb on the door switch was also a good idea.

Sweet run. And some stuff that could have made that sub 3:50 ;
The first bombable arrow trap, I think you can actually put the mine and roll and detonate it, without Lara jumping from the blast.
Around 1:03, you can actually jump down before the cutscene shows, thus saving second or two.
3:40, you can jump straight to the second batch of platforms, and to the otherside from the second platfrom. Saving few precious seconds.

Also noticed where I was so slow, those tnt barrels, I always threw spear at them. Also, using explosives with those balls, damn I wish I would have known that. And I so hate that last grapple ring. Feels so buggy.

But as I said already, damn sweet run. Congrats for it.

Contest #4: Firebrand and his 'Make a picture of what Gabe did on his summer vacation, using only images from Google Image Search, crudely cut and pasted together' idea.
