I agree with the lack of marketing being an issue with Halo 4. I believe Ghaleon made a post a while back saying that at this point in time for previous Halos, we'd already received several vidocs compared to Halo 4's one vidoc.
If I was the Halo Waypoint team, I'd upload a direct-feed, HD match of Infinity Slayer on Haven, Adrift, and Longbow, with one new weapon/ordnance drop being revealed from each video. And of course, a new vidoc would help.

Wow, a shotgun as a secondary weapon? That sounds terrible. If true it at least gives hope for a DMR/BR/Carbine loadout though.
Well, the game is coming out in November this time around instead of September so that's probably why. That said the rollout of media has been pretty amateurish. At the very least put out some direct feed stuff of the things we have seen like Forge or the just random multiplayer matches. The cellphone/shaky cam stuff is getting old.

Why leak the three dumbest pics you could take?
He's using the Firepower Tac. Pack which lets him choose a primary for his secondary weapon. It easily could be blocked on certain gametypes, and I'm assuming this is Infinity Slayer. (Assuming you weren't being sarcastic, but the ALL CAPS statement has confused me)

Because the entire leak has been one big troll so far if you hadn't noticed.
The problem here isn't the fact that he thought the shotty was a secondary, it's the fact that it's a primary/available off spawn.

So he took the screens earlier today/yesterday. There seems to be a lot of unique info on those screens. Surely 343 knows who this is.

I know people mention this a lot, but I seriously doubt they will block any weapons that you have stored in your loadouts for certain playlists.. I think they'll either just not allow loadouts at all (classic) or let you use everything they have available to equip. They wouldn't just block certain weapons because what if all your loadouts has a Shotgun in it? You then can't use any of them?? Imagine the confusion that'll cause for players who don't look up news/updates online?

shotgun was a beta primary weapon but has since been removed, david ellis confirmed it earlier.

That's a good point. There are tons of players who won't be on forums or even at least on the Halo site for the weekly updates. It'll be interesting to see how 343 explains the way all these awesome new loadout customization options will work across the different playlists.
The real problem is Jetpack.

That would be totally fantastic. Do it, 343. I'm so tired of the off-screen footage and screenshots. Give me some direct-feed goodness to digest.
That would also make sense with the scattershot being introduced to the sandbox. Make the shotgun a balanced starting weapon and have the scattershot take its place as a new close range power weapon.
You'd have to be real careful to not just end up with the Shotgun/Mauler situation again.
What? That's not the point of the shotgun being a 'balanced starting weapon.' The shotgun should be an OP beast at close range and have no place as a starting weapon.

I dont think thats the balance they are going for. The scatter is a relatively fast shooting semi-auto, and I'm guessing the human shotgun is slower since its always been a pump.
Not saying it's the right thing to do, but I'm working off the idea that it might be a starting weapon and the fact that there is already another shotgun-like power weapon. This isn't what I want; I'm just trying to make sense of the sandbox given the limited information that we have.
It's not just the lack of marketing it's the whole way they've been revealing information, leaving it up to people to figure things out themselves and as a result people are jumping to conclusions. Of course then Ellis or Frank will come around and correct whatever misinformation is there, but if it was just presented properly in the first place it wouldn't even be an issue.
But players now have the option of choosing Promethean Vision, and thus counter the shotgun as a starting weapon.
Because I fear my sarcasm is too dry: this is sarcasm.
