Looks good, I wish McFarlane toys do something like this

The HBO one? It was a little busy...

Yea, I haven't worn it since PAX, but I knew that before I bought it, lol.
No. Louis Wu's and mine are missing the back text "Beli343". He said he liked them, then he saw our backs and said that ours are not that great like the others.

The advantage you guys have over developers is that we don't know what you do, so our scathing ripostes can't contain crackpot theories about how you work or out of context sound bites that we can build conspiracy theories on. Although I suspect Heckfu encourages beard growth by drinking unicorn blood.

Sure sounds like you guys should have done a beta.

Another thing to consider with the playlists is that if they are not completely horrible when the game launches, then playlists updates won't be taken up by just trying to fix the game. Just about all of Bungie's matchmaking updates for Reach before they handed the game over were mostly attempting to fix the launch playlists and settings.

Spend more time on playlists prior to the game coming out and the playlist management post-launch will be a lot easier. Hopefully 343 has done this.

This is why Reach will have reduced maintenance for the next few months. Short term investment in long term fixes.

I want an HBO shirt...

It should have a caricature of Wu in a retro newsroom hunched over a desk using an old typewriter wearing a Chieftain headpiece on the front and HBO on the back.

ffs are you conceited.

I don't see how honesty = conceitedness.

You really disliked Halo 2, 3, and Reach? Is there a reason you're still around then? Serious question.

I honestly did not like them. The reason I'm still around is because I keep hoping, despite all evidence and experience to the contrary, that a new Halo game will at least give me the option to play the Halo I fell in love with. It would be so easy to do, but there always seems to be a piece or two missing.

Reading your posts never makes the word 'honest' spring to mind.

More like, self-important dickhead.

There was another, more colourful word for self-important I was thinking of using, but I can't seem to nail it down.

You're such a bullshit artist. There's no way you stick around and are this passionate about Halo if you honestly didn't like the vast majority of the Halo franchise. Makes no sense.

Probably the same reason Sonic fans are still around even though the best game came out in 1994. Or a sports fan comes back to sit his favorite team even if they haven't won a championship since the 90s. Or the any hundred of other variables for why fans are fans.

Seriously, at this point just go play Quake or something.

So, blind and illogical devotion? Those people are just as bad.

Haha, I'm confident in my own knowledge of MP balance if that's what you mean. I'm very honest with what I say.

I can't abide people who tiptoe around developer's and act like everything's fine, especially when we've been subjected to some of the most mind-numbingly stupid decisions I've ever seen in gaming.

I think Frankies a niceguy, I'm sure most of the developers are great guys too, I just don't think they're great MP designers.

Why not? It's just an internet forum, it's not like I'm out spending money talking about Halo. The games still have great potential, and I just hope, either through luck or occassional bitching, that the developers finally realize it.

I did not know Frankie is a MP designer.

We've already had reduced maintenance for the last few months! So basically, Reach is only going to get an update when Halo 4 is practically in our Xbox tray. Seems pointless.

At this point in the cycle, I think I can applaud this decision, no matter how much I'd like to see everything be fixed. A few months of stagnation for a game that frankly would need more playlist work done on it than is reasonable to expect from you guys is well worth those resources going towards the quality of the new thing. No idea how previous playlist creation cycles went before the release of other games in the series, but if this means there won't be the same abundance of issues like Shotty Snipers in TS or the usual AR start business, I'm all for it.

People will be upset for a little while, but the huge shakeups they want, and that I would ideally like, were never going to happen anyway.

It sounds like you should be a game-designer.

Then you could bear this genius fruit you've obviously been cultivating for so long, and every person that loves first-person-shooters will flock to your perfect game; a perfect game with no poor design decisions, excellent balance, and variety to keep players entertained for years to come.

Unfortunately, we don't need to build conspiracy theories; the results of the last 3 Halo games speak volumes about the testing and design.

Indeed they do. Through the design and testing Bungie followed with Halo 3 - Reach, we got the two best Halo campaigns, the best multiplayer, and a game that is best described as "jack of all trades, master of none." Your mileage may vary on that last part.

If 343 is following the same process, then I very much look forward to Halo 4.

Dang, you have the exact same opinion on 3 and Reach as I do.

It's illogical to think or hope things you love(d) could get better? That's a depressing sentiment
After a certain amount of time it's best to just move on and save yourself the grief. It's like people that stay in abusive relationships, it's just not worth it.

3 Halo games of disappointment and a 4th one on the horizon that looks like it's straying further away than ever from what he wants Halo to be? I think it's time to bail out.

If only it were that easy.

You're acting like this is some major time commitment or part of my life. I'm on here for maybe 30 minutes every couple days. The only reason I play Reach is to stay relatively fresh for the GAF tournament. I'm not paying for Halo 4. I've distanced myself from Halo quite a lot over the past 10 years, but I still love what the game should/could be.

Tired studio was tired.
New studio is new.

343i is a completely new studio filled with people who are passionate of their product.
Passion breeds good design.

I think towards the tail end of Halo, Bungie was simply fatigued of Halo.
And nobody can really blame them.
5 games in 10 years is a lot.

I was all getting hyped up and sending out feelers for a massive Community Infection playlist and sell it as a Halloween thing.

Then I remembered Halloween is a week before Halo 4 comes out.

It'd have to be before November. No way Reach will get an update on the same day 4 comes out, which it would if it somehow got a November update.

So basically we have (maybe) August, September, and October for updates left at this point. If 343 updates Reach past September, it'll be the first Halo game to get playlist updates after the next Halo game came out.

For our sake it's good that 343 aren't as good at dodging questions as you are.

What question am I dodging? Who tiptoes around developers?

What, you want me to go back through thousands of pages of threads and come up with names? Across all the Halo forums of the internet and at Halo events where people have interacted with the developers to list some names to you? No thanks, I think I'll stick to having you guys totally shut me down by saying I tiptoe around giving answers.
