Changed my password, can't figure out how to change my security question :\

Ah well, the blog says they'll force it to change soon. As for the authenticator, I guess there will be a software update in the Google market?

I followed you guys comments, i trade my 1100 dps two hand staff for a 700 dps sword with 850 life on hit. I changed my mantra and I could tank almost anything the first part of act 3 threw at me with another monk buddy and his different mantra.

The thing is that the two monks of us wouldn't be over 30k dps combined... And our DH was just plain lame, dying every two seconds.

Now I need a 1200 dps one hand with 800 life on hit, 150 dex, vit and 99% crit dmg lol

Don't worry about upping your DPS on your weapon. Get Crit DMG and CRIT %. My monk has 37K DPS unbuffed right now I think. My weapon is an 800 DPS and a 790 DPS. More and more dex helps massively too.

Only one of my weapons is semi expensive. The other is pretty cheap by comparison.

Main Hand Sword:
810 DPS / 700 LOH / 90 Dex / 70 Crit (This is the pricier of my weapons I think it was 10-15 million)

Off Hand fist weapon:
790 DPS / 140 Dex / 70 Crit / 50 LPSS

The LPSS lets me switch to resolve and drop transcendence which helps reduce damage even more.

For starters I would just get one weapon with Crit DMG and then start working on your gloves (Good amount of crit change on gloves). From there you can get rings with crit % and IAS for about 2-4 million. A helm with crit chance for even more.

I want to get crit on my ammy, but can't give up my current one yet. My current ammy has LOH / DEX / IAS / VIT .

So, 300+k elite kills and gold find gear... Right.

The message makes it sound like only NA players need to worry, though. Why would they advise only NA players to change their passwords?

"Accounts from all global regions outside of China (including Europe and Russia)

Email addresses"

Seems like just email was taken from europe, nothing from china.

So I did Act 1 again to build up a little gold and I just faceroll the place now, like, it feels like I am playing on normal difficulty again. So I am curious, if I just want to farm it is there any sort of optimal ways to go about it? As in, should I be focusing on a specific part for more chances of loot or should I just be going through the whole thing from start to end? I feel like I run into the most elites with minimal downtime from the halls of agony onward, but I am not sure if that's optimal or whatever.

My act 1 run was to start the quest at find the cursed hold then go:
1. Cathedral lvl 3 and check the around the waypoint if nothing leave
2. Festering Woods to get 4 packs in this area
3. Cemetary and crypts. I like coming here when I have 5 stacks because the jar of souls and other event give guaranteed rare with 5 stacks.
4. Southern Highlands look for Moon Clan cave for like 3 packs.
5. Northern Highlands and look for the watchtower. Gotten anywhere from 0-12 packs here.
6. Leorics Manor inside and the courtyard
7. Halls of Agony 2 and then go finish the quest.

Doesn't take too long and I've gotten more than 2 full tabs of rares with this run.

Wow that makes me feel dumb, I totally forgot you can actually warp to past points and kill stuff there without actually being on the quests. Thanks for the info, I am going to do that a few times while I listen to podcasts tonight.

I was doing VoA runs (all I ever do anymore) and I pulled 2 champion packs while chasing a goblin.
These three things dropped at the same time from those two packs:

I'm not actually sure if I should be wearing the shield or the chest or both. I swap MF gear so it doesn't really make a big difference on the chest, but it is a lot nicer than my current MF chest (not that I care very much).

The shield makes me lose a lot of damage and health but it's a good upgrade in mitigation. I wonder if the gold I could get selling it would give me better upgrades on my other slots though.

What do you guys think? Wear both? Sell both? With both pieces on I only have like 26k hp
I don't really mess with Act 3 and 4 so I don't even really need to upgrade, but where's the fun in that?

stupid... having to change my password... luckily I have already been fooled like 4 times in the past over this whole change the password thing thus my battle.net account was on a unique password from everything else lol.... I am running out of logical (for me) variations of my password though so things need to stop getting hacked @_@

Fuck Blizzard, jesus. I could care less about the passwords, but assuming they got the associated e-mails along with the security questions it will be trivial for these guys to reset passwords on other accounts for which those e-mails are used as the logins.

Really regretting the purchase of this game.

I recently had to reformat my phone and had to redownload the authenticator app I had.

I'm trying to log in to my Battle net account and it wont accept the code my authenticator is giving me.

Is there something I can do or do I have to contact Blizzard?

EDIT: Apparently not. I guess there is a code I was suppose to write down in order to re-sync my app with my account. GODDAMNIT

Send them a ticket. Happened to me as well, they removed the mobile auth on my account after 1 and half days. I'm now using a PC Mobile Auth.

Email address and answer to secret question... nice. It's not like that info can be used to cause all sorts of grief for other online accounts. Fucking idiots.

Your email at the very least should have a completely unique password so it's immune to leaks from other sources. That's security 101 considering how many sites use it as a login.

Looking at him i start to wonder - maybe it would be profitable to get GF+MF gear and then go to nightmare to farm gold + leveling items.

Even with junk stuff act 3 NM should be piece of cake for lvl 60.

How do you get 37k dps with a MONK ? I'm at 14k with 750dps weapons, 20 crit chance (50 crit dmg though) and 1.50 attack per sec. Also, 1500dex...

I can't see how you can get so high dps... I was 20k with my 1100 dps staff

Get back to that DPS question when you have around 25-30% crit, 200-300% crit damage, and a 800+ (or realistically, 850+) weapon.

I think you're missing the point. It's the security question getting out there that makes this bad as it can be used to reset your password at many sites (When you don't have access to your email). Unless you're suggesting unique answers to security questions at all sites?

Yep, that was my biggest issue when PSN got hacked too was my security question/answers got breached. You can make the answers unique for each site but that defeats the purpose having those in the first place as it's supposed to be a common answer that you would know and not have to write down in a database/spreadsheet somewhere.

Personally I would prefer them to be optional and let me manage my own passwords but for most sites they are mandatory now. And they aren't just being used for forgotten passwords, more and more customer service reps are asking those questions when you call on the phone to verify your identity which bothers me even more that my questions and answers are available in clear text to any yahoo at the company with computer access. And when it's a husband/wife account there is no context as to which one of use the questions refer to when they ask.

That was my security rant for the day, back to D3 ranting, has anyone else lost their valor stack because they accidently clicked on one of the skill slots on the bottom of the screen in an attempt to run away from something? I've done it twice now in the last 2 days and it's getting annoying. I use the keyboard to activate those skills so I don't even need those to be clickable, is there anyway to disable that option?

If I remember, I turn off elective mode after setting up my skills. Can't drag things any more but can still have your stuff in whatever slot you want.

I did it twice in the past week. But I think they are implementing a lock for the bars in 1.04 or later.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
edit: All of this sounds ultra-meh. No one will come back solely for 1.0.4 but it's cool for those who are still playing it.

The important parts:

The first change we’re making in 1.0.4 for co-op is to remove averaging in multiplayer games of Magic Find and Gold Find.

We’re going to be lowering the health multiplier for monsters per additional player in co-op games.

We’re going to shrink the gap between normal monsters and Elite packs

We also want to close the gap between dual-wielding and two-handers, and so we’re improving two-handed melee weapons by creating a new set of stronger affixes to compensate for the loss of stats that can come from your offhand.

We’re removing Enrage Timers and the “heal back to full” behavior from Champion and Rare monster packs.

So in 1.0.4 we’re going to be reducing repair costs of high-end items by 25%.

Many damage-oriented resource spenders are receiving buffs in 1.0.4

We’re making a metric-ton of changes to classes, so we’re going to have separate blog posts for each.

also

*P.S. We’re getting rid of the Invulnerable Minions monster affix.

:lol

We’ll of course have a lot more info coming at you in the weeks ahead on Legendary items, classes and more, as well as some interviews we’ll be holding shortly before the patch goes live – which, by the way, is currently targeted for the fourth week of August.

dang..so close to guild wars 2

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/fenderputty-1180/hero/4022975

Check my profile. Crit % is about 25 but Crit DMG is about 200+

So yeah ... what V said.

Wow, the weapons market will hopefully crash and burn if ilvl 61 has a chance at max roll damage :)

And reducing elite health, getting rid of elite enrage and healing is a big deal

Sounds like a major update. Can't wait. If only current legendaries were buffed as well... I could use more DPS on my Wizardspike.

Darn..I guess the AH changes will be in 1.1 since there was no mention in a "larger systems changes and game improvements" blog. So suffering with 3 search affixes.
