Lollipop Chainsaw has shipped 700k copies world wide.
http://www.famitsu.com/news/201208/26020199.html

there was a Killer Is Dead PV too, I want to see :\

100k first month in the US. Let's be very generous and say it has doubled that: 200k by now.

Japan is like 80k sold-through.

That's a lot of copies that will never be sold. Or maybe it's super popular in Europe.

Western third parties love multiplatform, the only thing stopping the Wii from getting them last gen was its power. Sure they might seem to be a little shy right now, but thats only because the system isn't even out yet. If Activision is willing to port COD to it, I don't doubt that Wii-U will get 90% of multiplatform titles with 720/PS4.

Uh, have you forgotten that Wii got most CoD titles this past gen as well? A franchise that's already proven itself to be atypically platform-agnostic is not something one can reasonably extrapolate from.

The point is that if there's money to be made with little effort, third parties will do it. Wii U is an easy port machine. Most multiplatform titles last gen didn't come to the Wii because it simply lacked the architecture to be ported to, it'd be too expensive and just a waste of time, because of this it never had the userbase that most third parties needed. COD might not have been an easy port, but it was still a slap job and its a big enough of a franchise that didn't need the userbase that smaller franchises needed to justify a port, so it was still able to recoup the costs of a port.

Well doesn't this prove that the market has effectively given up or is ignoring PSV like some diseased vermin?

You don't ignore diseased vermin *loads shotgun*

Anyway that small list of facts is quite an eye opener, oh Vita what will save you :/

Thats just painful to read. No more context please, its brutal

PS3 is on track to at least match 2011 at software, PSP will have the really big decline.

What in the hell happened to the PSP. It was all 'Phoenix Downed' and whatnot after that first MH game. It was looking swell. Is it the PSV that is cutting it off? Because if thats the case I certainly can't tell. Or maybe its just that the 3DS is really dipping into its base?

That "first" Monster Hunter game (which was actally the third PSP entry) was released years ago. The PSP is an old platform, and it's following its logical course.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!

It's more due to the platform showing signs of age ( seventh year on the market) + big drop in support, with almost no big releases anymore. And 3DS stealing a bit its base, but it's just one of the factors, not THE factor.

That's being very VERY generous. It's the type of game that would sell upfront, if at all. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that it only did another 20k in July and less now in August.

Fantasic result for Lollipop Chainsaw. And this bodes well for future Kadodawa-Warner Bros. partnerships.
I wouldn't take it that far. It's good news for Grasshopper, but without knowing Warner Bros' expectations is hard to say anything beyond that. But... if well over half the inventory remains unsold, I can't see WB getting retailers to order another 700k of their next game.

The PSP is almost eight years old and the next handheld generation has fully arrived. It's time for it to decline.

OOOhh its so easy to forget this. I guess the resurgence the PSP has sort of made me reset my internal clock for its age. Yeah, at nearly 8 years old I would say its old as shit and a decline is more than expected at this point. It had a good run to even be still going as it is now to be honest.

You are righ, one last. Wii releases at first half were exactly 2, Kiki Trick And Mario Party 9.

H1 Wii software sales = 2,5 x Vita

And you're saying that 2 Wii titles, released on dead platform, outsold all these games sales combined in H1?

Mario Party 9 probably outsold all of them combined. In its first two-three weeks.

Great! And I hope it keeps selling. I hope more it comes in the West actually!

There has never been a single Rune Factory, or Harvest Moon related game that has stayed Japan-only in like a very long time. I doubt you'll have to worry about the prospects of a localization, lol.

I know, even though Rune Factory games arrived in Europe something like 2 years later.

Speaking of Harvest Moon, I wonder where the 3DS one is at. It'll be interesting to see if it has the same kind of crazy off-the-charts legs the first DS game had.

What about PS3, is a high sales potential game coming?

It probably has the highest number of big sellers in the last quarter. 3DS will have bigger sellers (AC) but not as many of them.

Yakuza 5
WE 2013
Tales of Xilia 2
Hokuto Musou 2
Resident Evil 6

Well, it also depends on what's the initial WiiU line up and unannounced Q4 3DS releases.

On a related note, talking about big third parties, only S-E seems to be missing from the Q4 PS3 train. Sega, Konami, Bandai Namco, Tecmo Koei and Capcom are all releasing potential huge sellers.

I forgot about how spectacularly Kiki Trick bombed.

I can't believe we are days away from a Soul Hackers release and still not even a shred of info or a trailer leak for SMT4. Didn't the Dragon Quest X trailer and various FF trailers leak way in advance? Is Index brutally effective at suppressing info or does no one really care at all about Shin Megami Tensei? (I don't really want to know the answer to that one).

They shipped 200k and last LTD was around that. Still far from The Island of Happiness on DS, which was close to 300k, but higher than any other entry.

Girl version of Back to Nature about 12 years ago.

I think every single handheld/every single Nintendo game has come out.
