Is the SGSIII camera any better than the SGSII one? Cause the SGSII one sucks.
800 is worse, especially in even slightly low light.

Sweet, so we're back to equating MP to picture quality?
I'm equating it to the garbage sensor that's in the 800...
Maybe we should see some pics from the 920's camera before condemning it? Motherfucking SD card slots though, how hard can that shit be, Nokia?
The 'slim' PureView didn't really make any sense. PureView has higher quality due to the sensor size, not the amount of megapixels, and the size used in the 808 wouldn't be possible in a slim package - it's physically impossible.Or even the rumored slim 21MP version.
You've not seen low light pictures on an SGSII? My wife's Lumia takes slightly better pictures than my phone, which apparently is the same camera as an SGSIII. So, while disappointing, this new Nokia camera will take better pictures than any Samsung phone this year. The problem is we all expect much, much more. And its looking like they might not deliver on Wednesday, we will see.
the 3 best selling phones in the world don't have an SD card slot. There is no pro argument.
Or even the rumored slim 21MP version.
The *entire* point of "Pureview" was that it used all those megapixels and combined 7 pixels into 1 (in 8MP Pureview mode) to get a far better signal result than was usually possible, drastically reducing noise, to the point of mid to high-end DSLR's.
Thats on top of the unique zooming feature available by capturing all those photons.
8MP sensor renders that impossible, unless you are talking about some damn fine 1MP pictures.
Wat?
I would have been fine with the "half" pureview @ 21mp but if this rumor is true my desire to get a nokia wp8 just dropped significantly. That was nokia's biggest selling feature imo.
I bought a 610 resently, if he wants to PM me I can tell him more about the device if he has any questions.
Nokia nailed the aesthetics long ago. It's the internals we're worried aboutEh, wireless charging.. I like seeing other views of the phone. Loving the underside of the 920.
Ehh, I don't know that its THAT deep though. I mean, slightly disappointing maybe. But a big enough issue to change your stance on whether or not the phone is worth purchasing? That seems sort of extreme. There's the whole brand new OS with 8 among other things that are also a part of the package.
I am specifically referring to this phone itself.... otherwise I see no reason to choose the nokia over any of the other hardware (it was their biggest selling point). I am on sprint and if there was a nokia w/pureview I would wait for it but if this rumor ends up being true I will get the first decent wp8 on sprint. That said I am still holding out hope the half pureview is there (and the new rumor was wrong).... reason being is the phone does look a bit thicker than the current 900. Don't see any reason the phone would be thicker unless they have a "real" pureview sensor.
Yes!
I mean no!
I mean ... ugh.
Looks bad.
but if rumors of Qi compatibility are true, it's conceivable that owners of the phone will be able to use a variety of pads from other manufacturers as well; Verizon, for instance, offers Qi wireless charging on a number of its smartphones.
I honestly think the third generation of Windows phones from Nokia will be where we will go wow. The first gen was a rush job and the second gen seems to be the transition stage. Hopefully people will still care by the time of the next generation.

Edit: The 820 looks better strictly due to the upper and lower bezel being balanced. WTF is with that huge gap between the capacitive buttons and the bottom edge on the 920.

That kind of beastly camera is a enthusiast type feature. People are more concerned with price and the design of the phone, i dont think the majority would pay extra for that and sacrifice the space it requires. I know i wouldn't.I think nokia just doesn't get it anymore. Shame because their phones were so good back during nokia's prime
then how about you stop doing that? 8MP with a great sensor is more than enough for a god-damn phone.

Why would they do that?Who was arguing? The point is, if the sensor is the same one they use in the 800, it wont be.

So will the whole shell come off or what?
Oh, and confirmed MicroSD support there too for the 820!
exchangeable covers are nothing new to the lumia line

True, but I had expected the 820 to be a unibody like the 800.
