No.

Nope. Comics are much better.

Game of Thrones.

Wtf? Like seriously. What the fuck is this?

Shawshank redemption. The short story is basically the movie, with no extra detail that you normally get in novel vs movie.

When its a complete reinvention of the source material not some page for page transfer. Which is why Tim Burton harking on about "Charlie and the Chocolate factory is much more faithful to the source material" can eat my shit, nothing tops Gene Wilders psycho interpretation of the character. NOTHING

Good one. Also, from the same set of novellas, "The Body" was turned into Stand By Me, which is still a fun film. Not sure if it's better than the novella, but it's a contender.

Fight Club and The Shining are the best examples.

Stand By Me too. And Shawshank. Also The Running Man. And Misery.

Oh yeah the running man was pretty dreadful as a short story, although it might have been fun to see an extended scene where arnie tries to unsnag his intestines.

I'll say Game of Thrones as well. Absolutely better than the books in terms of pacing and overall development. Dude needed an editor.
