Just to unload it before the conference as i already shared it on the IRC a long time ago now, there were strong hints given to third-parties a few months before that Nintendoland will be bundled-in.

Later, we've seen some promotional materials that could indicate otherwise, we'll be fixed in a few days :)

So youre saying absolutely nothing... again.

Cool. At 300 euros with Nintendo Land bundled it seems it could have a good launch! Maybe there will be a version without the game at 250? That would be great.

Maybe a mistake? The link was a "404" page..... some kind of....

"Error: no existe texto alguno con la ID 33401!"

Not a mistake

Nintendo Spain fucked it with the first email, they forgot to write about embargoes and shit. Two minutes later I got a message with the embargo thingy, until 4pm here in Spain.

So maybe they just took down the page after the second email.

Nintendo Direct 13th 4PM for Euro people, Nintendo just confirmed. Wii U will be out at the end of the year.

ND start: Shibata looking at bananas, then Shibata said: "We are launching Kirby's 20th software for Wii this november. Thanks you for following this edition of Nintendo Direct!"; End of ND.

A new tidbit: there were concerns amongst third-parties that would release "casual"/family games that customers would not be enticed to purchase their titles if the first-party flagship of this kind of software will be packed-in.

A double edged-sword, it could demonstrate the Wii U capabilities and drive the sales à la Wii Sports, but also push a huge part of early adopters to say "ok we already have a game with the system, we won't acquire another for weeks/months" and not buy anything more.

So it seems Nintendoland packed-in was a sure thing a few months ago, but at the very least it raised some questions from third-parties.

It honestly makes more sense to not pack it in from a business stand point. If it's in, it will only be in the US.

Good, the less 3rd parties bother putting casual/family games on the Wii U, the better.

Ok, good news. But my hope is .....

1 - A little talking from
2 - Streaming from New York
3 - Ending with more "territorial" info (Launch date price for Europe)

Well they probably just want the announcement to hit at a certain time, stupid though just send the email then... unless it's after hours and they're lazy.

very stupid you can't take back something like this after you unleashed it on a starving for info internets lol

If we got scared every time somebody made an anonymous, baseless rumour about the Wii U, we'd all have coronaries and die.

Yeah, but it was Lherre who said it. I have gotten to trust him from what he been saying during the last year. Also he has the decency to admit being wrong as soon as he found out his mistake.

I think the more interesting thing in that article is if TSMC is the one making the GPU, then they dropped 32nm development which could make that unlikely for GPU7. I guess I need to jump back on the 28nm bandwagon. :p

mmm... Volume manufacturing of 28nm HKMG wafers is still pretty poop this year, and really, it's going to be an absurd cost while demand exceeds supply @ TSMC.

There is also the eDRAM - TSMC only offers down to 40nm at the moment. Of course, they could do a separate chip, but that has its own set of caveats.

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
Great news about Europe.
So, bizarrely, that leaves Japan as the only major territory without a Wii U announcement. Weird.

I think so.

No

No!

No No No!

There will be NO price announced for Europe, get that in your heads before it happens, people!

It will be "price will be set by retailers" again! This is how it works now! Spare yourself the disappointment.

Yep.

There are also concerns from some third parties over there being Mario at launch. While it drives hardware sales, it is the presumed 1.0 software tie ratio lock for the system. I recall someone saying that it's so default it might as well be packed in.

One reason third parties are being tepid at launch is because nothing but Mario is going to sell for a few months, anyway. But Nintendo is screwed because they can't not launch the system with NSMBU, especially at this point.

If Nintendoland is packed in then GAF will be allowed to like the game!

Do it Nintendo!

Well... if anything, every Wii U owners will at least give it a try.

If it's not packed in, i bet a lot of people on GAF, or "hardcore gamers" in general, will ignore it.

I believe you, but this shows how dumbass are Third parties: they put nothing really impressive on 3DS at launch because there was no Nintendo title strong enough to assure sgood sales debut for the console, and we have several official sentences about that.

No, Nintendo is trying to "lock" a good debut with a possible "demo" bundled and a strong IP, and third parties are afraid.

Truth is: third party has no clue and interest in being strong on Nintendo HWs.

So how about a JP Wii U event/ND? Iwata already said there won't be Wii U news at a Fall Conference (whether there is a FC in the first place, I don't know), so our best shot is a ND.

Drop the bomb Iwata!

Isn't this the belief that bite em in the arse with the 3DS launch?

We'll leave it to 3rd parties and just come in a bit later on..

What do you mean a bunch of ports didn't sell well? Where's Mario!

*shrug*

I'll be buying at least ZombiU and ACIII as third party (near) launch games. Maybe more.

While the third party concerns seem reasonable, these third parties should offer compelling games and not some "enchanced" ports with the expectation to sell them because of the lack of Nintendo quality games.

I think that ZombiU and Rayman will sell very well, as they seem to be made for the platform, Batman on the other hand seems like a game not worthy to be bought, unless someone hasn't played it on any other platform.
