I mean, to be fair, it's pretty much the same cover as the first Japanese Blu-ray volume, just with a different background.

This would have been the better cover.

Though I guess they can use it as disc art.

Ro-Kyu-Bu makes no attempts to hide what it is. It's a fun, quirky enjoyable show that is excessive in its fanservice. The characters are interesting and the basketball scenes are actually well done given what you'd expect from the nature of the show. It is not trying to be anything more than it is, and for what it is, it does it well.

Penguindrum was garbage. The characters were somehow more shallow and pathetic than in loli ball, with a forced plot, comedy that wasn't funny, drama that was pointless, side characters and storylines that are completely pointless and never get resolved, supernatural elements which were patently offensive.

So yeah I get why they went with that picture as their cover.

And I really couldn't care less if you think I should be taken seriously or not.

What does any of this post have to do with:

This cover is honestly offensive.

I guess they'd agree that the actual show itself doesn't have enough merits to sell, so gotta resort to the oldest trick in the book to sell copies.

It's simply impossible to square your criticism here, which complains about using sex to sell something, with your praise of a show which uses the sexualization of underaged girls to sell a basketball show. "It doesn't pretend to be something it's not" is entirely irrelevant to your original criticism. When you complain that the Penguin Drum cover is offensive, while excusing the much more obvious sins of loli basketball, there's no way to view it except as hypocrisy.

Really?

Kokoro Connect is very enjoyable and is the most enjoyable show for me this season. The first arc was fantastic, the characters and the relationships between them are quite interesting. I honestly am not sure if you're trying to insinuate Kokoro Connect is somehow a bad show but I would just flat out disagree with that premise.

I respect the work KyoAni does. I just happen to find Hyouka incredibly dull and painful to watch. It's well made - it just also happens to be completely uninteresting.
I can't really think of one positive thing about Kokoro Connect. I've already posted what I feel is too much about how painfully contrived the scenarios are, and how the character interactions feel embellished and fake while lacking any real substance.

And unlike a KyoAni show, even if I'm not into what's going on the art isn't about to keep me entertained.

I haven't really seen a lot of positive impressions regarding Kokoro Connect in other places. Sorry. If you like it and stuff cool, whatever, it just seems weird to me to enjoy that and not Hyouka; which is a really accomplished piece that is capable of being tactful and subtle while it entertains.

Just as kayos has a Pavlovian response to any post relating to Sword Art Online (however tangentially), darkside will without fail post in response to anything relating to PingDrum with a post that basically says "it sucks". That's just how it goes.

The only reason it bothers me is because I loved PingDrum and it makes me sad that darkside hates it so much (and reminds us of it every chance he can).

I'm sure Nichijou fans feel the same way about my cruel words. Sorry guys!

They have the same exact MAL scores.

Kokoro Connect has plenty of positive impressions. I don't know how it's received around these parts but I see some fellow posters writing about the show and generally enjoying it.

I doubt it because you limit your criticism to the parts you actually dislike instead of using your dislike as an excuse to attack it for anything, even things that you don't mind in other shows.

Strawberry Yuri 03

Nagisa is shown around Strawberry Hall and learns about the workings of the three connected schools. She notices that
Etoile doesn't seem to show up for important meetings and events and confronts her about it.
This show is so damned CUTE.

Actually BluWacky, I pretty much do respond to everything related to SAO. I just enjoy talking about it a lot, even if people do bash it. When people bash then it becomes a critique of the series which i enjoy. If it's gushing over it then i can just mindlessly talk, which i also enjoy. Win win.

Penguindrum wasn't intended to be aimed at the same general audience as loliball. It's supposed to be a more respectable work, it's supposed to be aimed at the same audience that a show like Utena was aimed for, it's supposed to strive for something more than cute little girls playing basketball. When you resort to something so utterly tacky for a cover it's just a really bad look - especially with ass cheeks flapping out and all.

I wasn't aware that was basically the same cover they used in Japan. It's still tacky but it does change my views a bit.

I asked to have it changed because I didn't like it. This was shorter and simpler, and I didn't want to completely change it because I felt that would throw people off entirely.

Please try to understand it's stuff like this that gives off the impression that you are trolling.

Just use the same avatar and change to a different name then people will get accustomed to your new name, then change your avatar.

I tend to do this sometimes. Sometimes bias just wins out!

Thats true, like my hate for Iczelion, Gasaraki, Eiken, and Gantz.
No amount of defending can make me enjoy these shows or see them as anything more than garbage.

You claim that you can't find positive impressions about the show anywhere. MAL is one of the largest subsections of western anime fans on the internet. There is a large subsection of people who seem to be enjoying that show. I can understand if you don't agree with opinions of other people but saying that nobody likes the show would just be silly.

Yes but usually just for K-on, and no one takes you seriously on that any more.

I hate K-On...

I think the problem that he was trying to point out is that you're using the same numerical score comparison. And that it's MAL. lol.

Hey I at least try to separate my totally legitimate criticisms of K-On from my obvious trolling.

I mean, ultimately the vilification of K-On is a cause worth fighting for.

Also Penguindrum is obviously aimed at people who like penguins and drums.

Silly peoples, always overanalyzing everything.

I wouldn't trust most anime fans. Particularly if they congregated in a place like that. On these boards I haven't seen Kokoro Connect pick up many fans, and I would be shocked to see it much when people vote for their favorite stuff at the end of the year.

How does the voting process work? Do we get to choose like 3?

Also, are you perchance watching the dub? Because I definitely don't remember that specific line from the sub. It's actually less corny in Japanese.

When you were explaining your love for Asuna, it seemed like you'd be a Mugi-bro.

I don't love Asuna. I just enjoy her character. Anyway... I just don't enjoy the premise of K-On and what it does. I watched the entire first season and I was like... ugh.

Uh there was that entire scene with
a chisel.

And Himari isn't exactly that old herself.

Do you understand what "approved" means?

Himari is at least several years older than the girls in loli basketball, and just from what was posted here, her wearing a skimpy outfit does not compare with what happens in the other show.

Maturity, bitches.
What's train maps? Are you actually talking about maps regarding trains? I don't get the joke then...

Each episode was one more station on a train map. The whole show spends 50% of its time on a train. Scene transitions flashed the station name across the screen as if it were a MegaMan boss. I wasn't exactly being that obscure
