English 3ds version is coming out simultaneously with the WiiU version right?

Series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto explained to IGN today that youll have to download a small, separate app for 3DS in order to make the transfer. Youll just have to launch the app and press a button it all happens wirelessly, you dont need an Internet connection, and it doesnt take long. You can think of it as just one save data that both systems are sharing, he said.
I'm okay with this.jpgHow MH save transfers will work:

That being said, unless Nintendo and Capcpom work out some sort cross buy system I'll only get one copy, so it's not like it matters.
Has this news made else anyone want to or actually play Monster Hunter Tri again? Looking at my save and progress I realize I spent a LOT of time doing nothing.
Nope.
I'm a lance user so playing Tri is one big fat mistake.

Haven't lances been nerfed in the titles after Tri?Nope.

Haven't lances been nerfed in the titles after Tri?bowgunning is where it's at if you want to avoid LS spamming randoms and upswinging GS/SwAxe users lol
The crossbuy initiative is a desperation move.I'm okay with this.jpg

How do you mean?
Also, do you only use one weapon?
They weren't nerfed that badly - instead of getting a high damage combo string and the ultimate defense through counter canceling you now need to choose one or the other.Lance was nerfed in Portable 3rd and 3G so it wouldn't make sense to use it in Tri.
I don't use just one weapon type but I do use Lance a lot.
The crossbuy initiative is a desperation move.
In a way, yes, that's true but in another way, it just makes sense if you're going to push save syncing as a major feature. Honestly, there just aren't that many people who'll buy the same game twice just for that convenience.
Of course, when I say "cross buy like system" I don't mean bundle the 3DS version in free with every Wii U version, I just mean that there should be some sort bundle edition, like both versions for 70USD.

In Tri, your BnB lance combo was stab, stab, stab. After any of those stabs you could choose to link it into a dodge, or counter cancel into another stab combo. Most people chose to counter cancel because it was a lot faster than the dodge, plus in the event the Jho decided it wanted to eat you, you could just convert it into a full counter.Mind expanding on that? I main lances on Tri, and I kinda forcefully ignored all info about P3rd and 3G so I don't know much about weapon changes between the versions.
Lances are still good, just not the hyper-efficient DPS machines they once were. Plus having to choose adds a new layer of risk/reward tension which IMO is what makes MH so fun.
Switch Axe for life.
May not be the best weapon, but it has a lot of variety and versatility, so I like it a lot.

In P3rd and later they changed it so you could only link into counter cancel after the first two stabs. So now you need to decide if you want greater DPS with the triple stab at the risk of getting bodied by a monster attack.

I think the bigger adjustment is that there are more monster attacks that are unsafe to mindlessly counter because they are followed up in quick succession by another attack.Ok, thanks, that's not such a huge adjustment to make on my end then. It sure saves me the first few attempts where I'll get smacked in the face and wonder what's happening lol
I think I'll go for lances(again) and gunlances this round as my mains, although I end up using almost every weapon in the end. I have no idea how gunlance works so it will be kind of an adventure.

Still broken. >.>
Why is a game that is already out being shown at TGS?
Nowadays I still feel most at home with my lance. It's so light and intuitive, the exact opposite of heavy. If only more people gave it a chance I could have 4 people poking an Alatreon to death
There's always a random who will use a broad sweep LS attack to ruin 3 lancer's funNowadays I still feel most at home with my lance. It's so light and intuitive, the exact opposite of heavy. If only more people gave it a chance I could have 4 people poking an Alatreon to death
Seems like a lot has changed tbh, can't believe it was 6 years ago, but online lances were pretty much the only weapon used.
I miss that fatalis lance
MH3 Ultimate weapon selection, for those wondering http://mh3g-weapons.jimdo.com/
I'm just browsing for MH3U stuff - this monster size comparison is cool http://images.wikia.com/monsterhunter/images/c/cd/MH3G_Size_Chart.jpg

I put so many hours into Tri, sooooo many....I think I've mined we'll over a hundred hours just in the off chance there was an LS ancient shard....hopes and dreams dashed to bite sized peco bits. altogether I've logged over 600 hours and I'm HR 140.
Now just imagine us flushing our lives away when ultimate's released. Monster hunter, pushing my kids through puberty....and beyond.I just broke 1100 hrs yesterday lol
