RESIDENT EVIL 6 |OT| No Trope Left

Aside from the terrible Prelude, I'm really enjoying this game so far (just finished Chapter 2 as Leon). It will never reach the dazzling heights of Resident Evil 4, but I'm certainly enjoying it a hell of a lot more than 5.

Whats the deal with being able to allow infinite ammo at the start of a new game? Can you use it on pro mode too? I chose "dont allow" just to play it honest the first time through but its cool that you have the option right off the back.

Game needs to be patched:

My wish list would be to "fix" the camera and have it at the zoomed out view always, and tone down the QTE's so it's easier to fill the meter, I get the idea Capcom but you're starting to hurt my hand. QTE's would be way less annoying if this were the case, and tone down the cover blur. Now I'm starting to think this game is genius, with just a bit much misguided bullshit thrown in. 180.

I had to get my dad to do one QTE for me to beat a mid-boss. Then I had to do it again with another characters :( a;ldnfa;ldjf;aldjfa;djfa;ldskjfa;ldsj

out of curiosity are the QTEs in this game especially difficult compared to others?

So far, they require precise timing. It helps that a nifty visual timer is implemented. However, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, you get damaged during QTE scenes where an enemy is grabbing/chewing/wrestling you. I have died in those scenes.

God damn Leon's campaign escalates brilliantly. Chapter 4 was fucking awesome and the spectacles/visuals/scenery really sold that for me. The game does a good job at times of displaying the despair and shitty situation these cities are in.

Chapter 5 atm. Will see how this goes.

Some of Leon's campaign is fucking awful though. Like really really fucking awful.

Looking forward to Chris and Jake after.

Meh, UPS tried delivering my package while I was at work and there was no one to pick it up. Now I'm going to have to schedule a pick-up with them at some point today.

I think the main criticism from me is the camera angle. I've only played the demo, but even watching the GB quicklook I hate how the camera is position behind the player. It's too close and it actually bothers my eyes and gives me a slight motion sickness, especially during the movements of the camera during the melee attacks and what not. I've never had this problem with any other video game before either, so that's odd.

Man. Leon's story has been really intense, I've been on it a few hours or so and only on chapter 1. Looks like these scenarios are going to be a bit longer than I figured they would.

Each campaign is 8 hours, afaik.

Going by the speed of my current PSN download, you'll probably be playing before me.

This is painful. Like, physically, uncomfortable.

Downloading it on PSN, damn that's slow.

yep.

If that's true about the time, I'm speechless. Game is seriously very well done so far. Of course it could get better, it could get worse. The
Tall Oaks downtown chaos
sequence was fucking amazing.

Dang, sorry to hear that. :/

My plan for this morning, after learning they weren't doing a midnight release, was to hit up Redbox in the interim. They stock the machines around here Tue morning by 6 am or earlier.

So I set my alarm and coffee maker... got up, poured a cup and sat down at the PC to reserve a copy of RE6. Of course there wasn't one. Not a Rebox in the country has RE6 on PS3, just 360 versions.

Needless to say, this bothered the shit out of me. Damn RB.

Just unlocked more files in Ada's campaign. I am REALLY warming up to the story now...

EDIT: And found very clear localization errors, namely the use of the term "Operation: Baccilus Terminate" for the destruction of Raccoon City. Completely made-up term. It's "Sterilization Operation". These translators never were one for consistency.

hey guys, I was wondering if someone wanted to exchange preorder codes from gamestop or bestbuy for my amazon code, I had to buy 2 games (1 for me and 1 for my cousin) and my cousin don't want it, I'm trying to get a different one from amazon, may be someone is interested?

EDIT: its the PS3 version

Just finish Leon chapter 1 with friend. Got a blast. The game is just fun. Those reviewer is seriously sick and im not kidding. Now i feel a lot more relief playing this game. I thought its gonna be bad ...

Just started the Leon campaign and I like it so far.

I'm glad you're enjoying it. most of the people I know are enjoying this game. makes me wonder what was those reviewers thinking.

What's general fan consensus of this? Picking it up Friday. I'm one of the few who actually enjoyed RE5. I thought Racoon city was pretty disappointing. Glad I only spent $20 on it.

My copy arrived from Amazon today and i played about 2 hours of Leon's campaign.

It's pretty good so far! I liked how the prologue was basically a tutorial.

There were a few times where i jumped from fright in the first chapter, lol. Mind you i was playing this in surround sound and it was very loud (but awesome).

Right now i am at
the sewers, which is right after where the demo ended
. I stopped there and will play again later tonight.

I do have a few issues though. You can't turn off the crosshair or waypoint separately, it's either all on or all off. That's a little annoying. The waypoint is just not needed at all considering we have the pda already. A bit silly if you ask me. Also the framerate is kinda bad, but that's to be expected from an aging console. (ps3 version)

The ones where you have to wiggle left and right on the stick sometimes don't give you nearly enough time on occasion. For my case, I could never do them fast enough and it had to be a two man operation. For what it's worth I couldn't do the torture segment in the first MGS. I LIKE QTE's, however. Shenmue all the way to Asura's Wrath. I just found the really hard ones so far REALLY hard and it's frustrating as I'm someone who's played every RE many times with few problems.

Need a coop partner for Chris's campaign, playing on Professional. PSN is JoeFenix, will be on for awhile tonight.

I fucking HATE how the cover works in this game, If I try to dodge while next to a wall I end up stick to it instead. Or if you try to peek around a corner in aim mode you end up taking cover, fucking awful!

Chris's first chapter was really funny, pretty terrible level design mixed with some oddly fun encounters combined with some truly misguided and hilarious COD inspired moments. I'm shaking my head but I want to keep playing!

Just beat Chris Chapter 2 on normal (doing Dusk Golems chronology) and I'm surprised at how challenging the game is, particularly in regards to ammo and health items.

I mean, near the end
where there's 5 or 6 of the brutes in the Foyer of the RE1/2 tribute City hall, I had to bail not because I couldn't handle them, but because I was counting the rounds I had left and realized I literally didn't have enough to kill them with.

And it's not like I firing off blanks constantly either, I was always overflowing with ammo in all prior games. Enemies just drop so little.
