What are the enhancements of the NG3 port besides the inclusion of Ayane? Any changes in the graphics department?

I don't know about visual changes, but that's like the least problem they have with that game. As long as it has a constant framerate and many changes in terms of gameplay (and hopefully story but probably not), I can see a lot of people giving this a second chance

It's 3-5 hours. They should have done something like Apple with their hybrid USB/WallWart charging solution. That way you could plug it in using AC nearer to you than you'd have to if it was connected via USB to the console. But then have the option if you wanted to.

Yeah, AC charger for speed, USB for convenience. 3-5 sounds like it could cause the occasional annoyed rant.

The pics Ive seen of the WiiU version looked great, but now I think those were probably bull.

SNES inspired 3rd party controller. I like it a lot, though I'll wait for reviews.

Oh FUCK yes.

Uh oh. I was planning on using my real SNES controller on the Wii U, like I do on the Wii...but my adapter from Retrousb connects to the gamecube port.

I guess I'll have to buy a SNES to Wiimote adapter for the Wii U. Nothing beats the real SNES controller!

I appreciate the SNES controller as much as the next guy, but that thing looks abominable! The Start and Select buttons are redundant and why does it need the extra little SNES curvature molding in the bottom-middle?

This looks painfully fake. If it's real, I hope it's refined before release.

All Nintendo (or a 3rd party) would really need to do is release it with the SNES/SFC-colored buttons and the background designs/button labels. They don't need that molding or anything...ick.

On second thought, it's probably a prototype the 3rd-party design guy scribbled out as a placeholder. There's no way this is an official Nintendo product....I hope...?

EDIT: The IGN article and poster both say 3rd party, but the actual EB Games listing says no such thing. It's a pretty safe assumption, though.

This is just a mashup in photoshop.

Eh? The gamepad has its own AC power adapter. It doesn't charge via the console.

I didn't say it did either of those options. I just said what I thought they should have done. i.e. a combo AC/USB setup like Apple does with their iPad.

FWIW I know they use the AC adapter.

Got ya, its a smart fun game I would get it if it wasnt 60, i would rather get zombie u or blops 2 if i had to pay all that

$60 for it is wayyyy overpriced. You get basically the same game on iOS for $2 (well basically...)

That being said, the Ninty characters have me in at Day 1 ... and the pre-order bonus from gamestop is ADORABLE!

Scribblenauts Unlimited is a totally different game that the Scribblenauts you got on your iPhone! Just because the graphics are in the same style doesn't mean it's suddenly worth nothing.

First, there's the object editor that lets you create your own objects which isn't even in the 3DS version. Then, the game is basically a sidescrolling puzzle RPG with a huge world, not just a collection of small levels that present a situation to you. That, plus it has co-op where other players can control some of your creations.

What's the estimated battery life on the gamepad? How likely is it you'll need to rush for the charger in the middle of a session? Bearing in mind it won't always be at 100% when you start using it too.

I'd have liked a USB charging option - AC seems unwieldy. Will they be selling chargers separately? With the premium bundle you get a charging cradle so the AC cale will be awkward to move around quickly.

There's the charging cradle AND a separate AC cable in the premium pack.

You're supposed to use it with a power socket near where you're sitting as essentially a better alternative than a USB charger that goes to the console. That way, you're free to use it wherever you want. And you don't move the cradle around, that's simply there for charging when you're not using it.

And it should also features Nintendo characters.

Has Nintendo said why they made a seperate AC adapter for the controllers? Seems pointless, both in terms of costs and envoirmental concerns.

People guessed it was so you could charge wherever you were playing. Allowing the gamepad to be nearly always by your side on the couch and not in the WiiU.

this:

It makes a whole lot of sense. Tethering the GamePad to the system with a USB cable would mean you'd have to buy a very long cable or couldn't play while charging. With a separate AC, you can plug it in close to where you're sitting (wherever that may be) and keep playing while it charges. It also makes sense as it doesn't draw additional power from the console hardware unit.

And it should also features Nintendo characters.

Well yea but I wouldn't really call that a selling point.

It wouldn't have charged effectively via USB.

sure it could. It could have at least trickle charged like the ipad 3. There is no way the WiiU gamepad uses more power than the ipad. Dumb terminal vs full CPU/GPU and larger screen?

That's eighting and the gekitou ninja taisen serie we want for a Naruto game.
One of the few case when I don't want a game to come to the wiiiu.
The Cyberconnect2 ones coming on wiiu would probably destroy any chance of GNT comeback, which is already wishful thinking.

Tha is true enough, in that way it makes sense indeed, but you're bound to have a free power outlet next to you in that case however. And if the DS charger cable length is anything to go by, it wont be longer than around 1-2 meters. I think that this WiiU AC adapter should be sold seperately, it would cut down on the cost and less units would need to be produced.

As for drawing extra power, i dont see this as a problem. You need to draw power from the power socket in the wall when charging anyway.

Isnt it possible to charge it at all through USB by the way?

I honestly think the pro controller is a must if you plan on getting games like Mass Effect, AC3 or Ninja Gaiden 3 like I am. It might be more comfortable for longer play times. I may not have to or want to use the Wii U tablet unless it provides major functions that improve the experience and that's something I would determine on a game to game basis. Not an issue of course but I like having my options.

Although, I can also see myself using the pointer for any kind of shooting game if that option is available too. It's simply more precise from my experience, that's if it's implemented well.

Still, upset there's no arcade stick for Tekken ready on launch day.

As I get closer to launch my title wants for Day 1 have expanded greatly. The newegg sale returning has helped my decision.

I went from NintendoLand (bundled) and New Super Mario Bros. U as my only day 1's to:

NintendoLand
New Super Mario Bros. U
Zombi U
Scribblenauts Unlimited
Tekken Tag Tournament 2

YES! HYPE!

Well obviously you have to be smart about the way you set things up. I don't see a big problem there.

I'm the same. But holding back on just ZombiU (bundle) and NSMBU at the moment, trying to convince myself to add Tekken and NintendoLand to the list.

I actually wanted to buy NSMBU together with the Deluxe pack, but I'm getting Halo 4 too and we'll probably spend a crazy amount of time with that one :lol

But I won't forget you Mario

Do we know of any other games that could potentially be released before the Wii U is released?

I know there has been talk about ZombiU possibly being out on the 13th do to GameStop listing it for that date.

Has anyone come across anything? Any companies known for having their games out early at launches?

Who are these people on eBay buying pre-orders for the system at $5-600!?

Also, WTF at the 9% transaction fee for making a sale? That's ludicrous....

I don't see why it wouldn't?

While this is slightly off-topic, charging the gamepad with a specialised charger may be advisable as the USB standard isn't really suited to charging devices.

The iPad 3 has a charger that delivers 2 Ampere at 5 Volt. USB by specification (a new USB charging spec will be implemented in future devices) delivers a maximum of 0,5 Ampere which is not enough to consistently charge an iPad (in most usage scenarios, the iPad will lose charge even when connected via USB).

Practically every modern devices allows for more current to flow through the USB connector, typically up to 1 Ampere (this is the current the iPhone plug provides). This will allow the tablet to charge, albeit at a rate that is very slow compared to the 10 Watt charger provided by Apple.
