you guys are having a strange convo about Dolphin crashes but I am jelly that I don't have hardware strong enough to run it and see what the fuss is about.

Its absolutely glorious.

Running through Makna Forest in native 1080p is a sight to behold.

And Gaur Plains. And Eryth Sea. And Valak Mountain. And Fallen Arm.

Goddamnit, its all incredible. Hurry up with the Wii U shit, monolithsoft and HOOK IT TO MY VEINS

Mine runs smooth as silk until it doesn't :T

Mines never crashed or had a hang up even once in 40 hours of gameplay...the worst I've ever had is some audio glitches on the queen coronation cutscene in Alcamoth. That's it.

I'll send you a PM later with links to the build and patch im using.

well at least BAYO2 will not need Dolphin for HD take your Dolphin love to the OT

Thanks dude. Hopefully the saves transfer over - I'm where you are as well, about halfway through Sword.

Just bear in mind I'm using an ISO I ripped from my UK copy last year. Not sure if my patch is compatible with the USA one, but there's bound to be an equivalent on the web.

Anyway. Back to bayo!

So no one thinks we will see BAYO1 on WiiU before 2?

this is why Nintendo will always have to deal with things like Homebrew and Dolphin they don't think you guys need this stuff

Zero chance. Bayo 2 is coming out because Nintendo is footing the bill for it. I don't think Nintendo would be willing to buy 2 entries into the bayo franchise and they knew just re-releasing 1 wouldn't be enough. If 2 sells well enough, I'd expect a re-release of 1 possibly as a package with 2 as well.

Clearly not sad enough.

I'm lost, what did I miss? I didn't want to come here and completely QQ up the thread and get myself banned for being a tard, just express some disapointment.

Are you saying the rest of the thread is a lot more QQ or some news has come out to the contrary or.... I dunno? I don't get your reply.
I am "somewhat disapointed" how's that?
EDIT: read the rest of the replies to me, sorry but 133 pages seems a lot to digest so no I didn't read them all. Obviously some people really whined it up then? I can't be bothered with that, it won't achieve anything unfortunately, I've said my piece. :/

not sad enough to buy a WiiU for it or not sad enough to send Death Threats to Kamiya
take your pick both and more have gone on for weeks now. The recent bumps to this topic have been some dude breaking his copy of DMC on PS2 with an FU note to Kamiya on tweeter

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
SEGA still owns the licensing rights to the Bayonetta 'franchise'. Given it's a 'finished' game, it certainly wouldn't hurt them to port it over to the Wii U and cash in on Bayonetta 2 hype. Would have made for a pretty easy launch game I'd think.

Death threats and smashing discs is ridiculous!
I can definitely understand the disapointment but wow. I wonder if video stores like blockbuster (what's left of them here in Australia) still rent out video game consoles for like 30$ overnight or something, might be an option for me TBH (they used to do this for the PS1 / PS2 / Xbox etc)

Ive never heard of anywhere being able to rent a whole console. Thats news to me.

Who knows, maybe Bayonetta 2 will come with a DLC code for Bayonetta 1 through eShop.

No seriously, you had to leave like a $50 deposit or something if I recall and this was obviously 7 to 15 years ago kind of stuff but you could rent games at the video store and systems (they only ever had one or two normally behind the counter) - back when systems were $700 it was a way to check out the machines.

Video stores are dying out big time now in Australia as they probably have in the US also.
Anyhow, at least it's being made - maybe if an absoloute shitload more games which interest me on the system are announced (more than 1) I may just buy a Wii U, not something I ever thought I'd say. :0

Good luck to them.

I know what he's talking about - but they usually held the rest of the cost of the console as insurance. You'd get the money back after you bought it back (which was fair, I guess).

My family was gonna do this to try out a Gamecube, but we just ended up buying one, cause they wanted like close to $300 as insurance.

Wow did not know you could do that wouldve tried begging my mom. back in the day if I knew.

I remember we had this one library that would let you check out PC, and psx games though.

I use to do this long ago at Blockbuster Video in Florida, it was a thing.

I worked there so I could take any of them home I rented the CDi to play some golf game

well I really mean ported by P* but SEGA :shudders: Sega would really need to make sure the port works smoothly even as a cash in it would give P* even more reason to continue the series forward

It will be interesting to see if SEGA publishes BAYO3 multiplat after seeing what BAYO2 does on WiiU unless Nintendo has contracted this series ahead of time

Yeah, the quality of a SEGA port would be...questionable.

But given Platinum uses the 'Platinum engine' for their projects, and are (I would assume) using said engine not only for TW101, but Bayonetta 2, I wonder how difficult it would be to port the Bayonetta code over to the Wii U build of Platinum engine.

Wii U SDK has no "Pot 360 code to Wii U" button so better give it to someone capable as Platinum.

Even if that illusive button existed, most western devs still wouldn´t care...

Wasn't the quality of the Bayo port solely down to the fact that the game was built for the 360 from the ground up?

Not even in the way a normal multiplat is, but rather it was only meant to be exclusive and sega decided they wanted a ps3 version?

The port job wouldn't be as bad even if it was done by sega because I'm sure the biggest issue was getting the performance of the ps3 separate ram, to run like the 360s unified ram.

But I'm no dev so there might of been some level of incompetentance that crept in.

we all should have been asking Kamiya this on twitter instead.

depends how long ago these types of dealings took shape too, and if P* MGS game gets a WiiU port how busy this team gets in the future rides on all of these things

I am keeping my hopes on Bayo1 WiiU port but I guess it is not as drastic a need as ME1+2 or ever to a lesser degree AC1+2. Would you say that playing the first game is needed to jump into this IP?

Nintendo has a lot of catch up left to do this is a very little step on the path with how far they are behind when it come to what the core is willing to accept on a Nintendo platform to every desire owning it. This meltdown would not need to be so big if people had plans on getting a WiiU. So even if Bayo1 is not really needed to jump in that world it may still help take those little steps in creating a Core that is not all about Zelda and Mario.

stick the BAYO2 demo with TW101 and drop BAYO1 on eShop a week before TW101 fans would eat this up

Depends when they plan on releasing 2

I don't think having both games come out in the same year would be beneficial for the brand really.

and I think Platinum has their hands full working on 3 original projects already in the pipeline to worry about porting a 3 year old game

Arkham Asylum, Darksiders 1 and Mass Effect 1 and 2 aren't coming to wii-u, no idea why people expect Bayonetta 1 to

Yes

but I don't think the Wii-u would have the same technical limitations of the PS3

It's one of the reasons I'm glad Bayo 2 is an exclusive on the wii-u though. I'm not sure a multiplatform sequel would have looked as good as the original, as none of Platinum's later releases have looked as good as Bayonetta did.

Yeah, but
she'd done it before. Jubileus wiped out the last universe, was imprisoned because of it to allow this one to thrive, and as soon as she was revived decided to do it all over again. Jubileus is cray cray.

Oh, that much goes without saying. But again, I'm just wondering if, much like with SMT's
Yahweh being a complete and utter asshole
, that was partly due to the fact that there's something (or someone) else far worse that might go beyond even the scope of the designated big bad's overall plot.

Even though
Jubileus and Balder, the two greatest threats to that were both dealt with? There's still arguably at least one left: Bayonetta/Cereza herself.
And I just wonder if that might be at least part of the reason why she may still have drama to deal with. :lol

There's a specific dolphin version to use with Xenoblade and a patch to fix the framerate. On my 5th playthrough now, but on Dolphin for the first time.

1080p v sync with barely a frame drop at all. Up to the last quarter of the game (sword valley) and its ran smooth as silk throughout.

My PC isn't exactly bleeding edge either:

64bit win 7
AMD Phenom x4 955 3.4ghz
4gb ram
Radeon 6850.

What version and what patch???

Sorry for bringing the thread up again but there are Kamiya news from Twitter:

Mahdi Al-Omran ‏@roysolid
@PG_kamiya why games don't run on 1080p for wii u ? I want your games to be full HD so I can enjoy them more . I like your game art still.

Cuz 60 fps's more important to me. RT @roysolid: why games don't run on 1080p for wii u ? I want your games to be full HD so I can enjoy the

Already posted it in the 60fps/720p discussion thread but this might be related to Bayo 2 or W101 or maybe both.

Bayonetta 2 @ 720p and 60 fps would be fantastic.

I find most people can't even tell the difference between the two, especially in motion. Every game being 720 is fine with me if it's going to hinder performance at 1080.

60FPS > 1080p every time. I wish we could be at a point where we had both, but if there has to be a choice, I'm going with smooth animation over smooth resolution. (it's also, one's more noticeable than the other)

Update: Kamiya is talking about W101:

Joshua ‏@TheBioLover
@PG_kamiya @roysolid So it's not powerful enough to do 1080p and 60fps? Woohoo, what a "next-gen" console!.........not.
