Who is your Character of the Year?

So with most of 2012's holiday games already released, this is probably a good time to reflect on the new virtual dudes/ladies/animals/robots that made your past year as a gamer worth it! (or at least tried.)

While not technically a creation of 2012, Sakurai's flawless reinvention of Lady Palutena for Kid Icarus: Uprising means she might as well be. I've heard a lot of bitching about Uprising being too hard to play, but if those one-liners can't motivate you to pull through I dunno what possibly could.

(I wish I could also mention someone from Paper Mario: Sticker Star, but that game doesn't have any actual characters. The Green Toad Philosopher from Outlook Post counts, I guess...?)

Ontopic: Havent played any 2012 release yet. But i liked LA Noire's Cole Phelps

I liked a bunch of characters this year. Kat from Gravity Rush, Lee Everett from The Walking Dead, Haytham Kenway from Assassin's Creed 3, Labrys from Persona 4 Arena, and I'm sure I could go on.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
Haven't play the game yet but from what i've heard it could be this guy.

Also I really am a big fan of Lee and Clem from TT The Walking Dead.

Also motherfucking Sigma from VLR.

Big Bo from Binary Domain, no contest. This guy had me in tears throughout the game.

I also liked:

Lee Everett (The Walking Dead) from what I've played, seemed like a realistic character with good dialogue and intelligent choices (hoho)
Wei fucking Shen motherfucker

Well, I'm only a little bit into it (I know it'll be amazing, so I'm not worried), but I LOVE Luna from Virtue's Last Reward.

Like, a lot.

Wei Shen from Sleeping Dogs. He's not particularly insightful or has deep development, but his role in the game's grand scheme leaves you really sympathetic to his struggle. It's pretty painful in some respects. On the flip side though he's very fun and self aware. Voice actor did a great job.

My brain tells me I should say someone from The Walking Dead. But my heart wants me to pick Yasha or Asura from Asura's Wrath despite the fact that they are the biggest cliches that ever cliched.

Let's go with Yasha. His theme song was cooler.

Oh man, this thread was made for Kid Icarus: Uprising.

Not gonna pick one, but other than the entire cast of Kid Icarus, I'd say:

Handsome Jack-Borderlands 2: you just love to hate him, he's a complete psycho without remorse, but funny as hell.

Lee and Clem-Walking Dead: the pair of them might just be the best duo ever. Individually, Clem is just adorable and it breaks your heart knowing she must grown up in a world gone to hell. Lee is just rock-solid and indentifiable to the player, but where that usually means he's boring and vanilla, in this rare case it means having a great hero to root for.

Blake Dexter-Hitman Absolution: I know people hate the grindhouse/exploitation vibe the game has going, but I, for one, think it works and nobody embodies this better than sleazeball Blake Dexter.

Having not played Far Cry 3 (installing now!) I can't comment on Vaas, but he might make the list as well.

The Starchild from ME3.

...Why are you looking at me like that. He's obviously the character that most effected gaming this year. It's like when Time gave Hitler Person of the Year in 1938.

My top three:

1. Lee Everett/Clementine (The Walking Dead)
2. Martin Walker (Spec Ops: The Line)
3. Wei Shen (Sleeping Dogs)

Halo 4 Cortana for me. Character is over 10 years old but this is probably the first time in the whole series I cared about her and what's happening with her. Jen Taylor(voice actress) fucking knocked it out of the park as usual. Helps that 343 took extreme focus on the facial animations and graphics as well. Just a joy to experience.
