SOMEONE sure likes trolling, huh?

I have a high end gaming PC, but I was thinking of getting Assassins Creed 3 and Darksiders 2 on the Wii U for the gamepad functionality. Has anyone else been in my situation? And it is worth the frame rate loss? I don't mind 30fps, but if I have to worry about it going less than that when I turn a corner in a crowded street, it gets annoying.

I need to find a way to place my WiiU near my 1st floor ceiling while connected to the downstairs living room TV so I can play on my bed in the third floor.
Good luck with that...

On the 2nd floor, just above the place where my Wii U is (so only one "wall" and 10 feet), I'm on the edge of reception... If you manage to go through two floors, I'm impressed.

(btw, I'm still looking about informations on channel used for the U pad so that I can check whether the WiFi is messing with its signal...)

Is there a way to buy an additional charger for the Upad? Does the 3DS charger work (the hole/plug seems similar)? I guess not based on the size of the power block, but...

I'm kind of in a similar pickle. I was gonna get Sonic and All-star on PC, but got it on the Wii U so that I would have something to play. Same with Scribblenauts. Although fun, sometimes I miss the better visuals and performance that I would experience on my PC.

I already own Trine 2 on PC, through Stream, but thinking about double dipping for the new content on the director's cut.

So would I rather be able to play games in bed, or have better graphics and a higher framerate?

Anyone else notice the Wii U is dead silent with no disk in?

Put a disk in and whirrrrring happens!

I be this is a Nintendo tactic to get DD going on their store... :D

I am in the same situation... I kinda want to get DS2 again even though I already have it on the PC

Hehe, yeah. The Wii was really silent too when the disc wasn't spinning!

I love how the disc goes full blast even of I'm idle on the Wii U menu :/

Let us install games Nintendo. Don't want to murder my drive.

I don't have them on PC I would think framerates would be so much better on PC, but if you want the Off TV gamepad experience these will be Apples and Oranges choices.

I have not hit any framerate issues I read about around here yet, the only real thing are hardlocks that the Wii Us have been doing for mostly everyone. I am not sure if you can hit framerate issues on gamepad streaming to be honest taking one screen off leaves the Wii U with extra resources I would think. But then you got the other problem of range if you are too far away from the Wii U over that 26 feet Nintendo talked about losing signal may affect your results.

I am extremely happy with both of these games on Wii U I am not rushing through them but so far the have added to what has been a very good launch experience.

Microsoft does not comment on rumors or speculation.

have they given you any trouble for this? I know there are plenty of fake posing as Twitter Accounts that imitate the source material for the funny but Microsoft being a Trademark it would seem this is something a company can ask to be taken down as soon as Lawyers get word of it.

They definitively should implement a "pause" when the Wii U lose the U pad signal... At least as an option.

The signal is always lost at the worse time possible T_T

Trine 2 cannot be a single player game can it? Some of these puzzle are really designed for Co-op

I have not checked if I can ask my online friends to help me complete an area I am stuck in to be able to advance forward.

Can that be done?

I have a good pc and am a framerate whore. Ac3 runs smoothly on the wiiu and it looks great on the game pad. Not sure about ds2.

My Wii U has slowed down to a crawl after bringing it over to a friend's house. I tried using component cables on his TV (was using HDMI before) and I ended up having a hard lock. Since then my Wii takes 5-8 minutes on average (although it can take up to 20 or so) to close any app or game (not any of the multitasking apps like the browser, Miiverse, etc though). This is seriously pissing me off. I'm not even sure if it's a hardware or a software problem. Should I try to get a replacement Wii U from Nintendo? I have a bunch of WiiWare/VC oon this Wii U so I'm not sure what's going to happen to it. :(

I'm really tempted by this game but I hate games where you have to switch characters all the time :-(

Doesn't sound right.

Ring Nintendo if i was you, they can transfer your account to a new console and i guess you can redownload the games again.

I'm thinking of waiting a week to see if the problem persists or ot. It's just annoying that there are even software problems like this.

that's why there is an extra bright light. just to remind you of the disc and make you got nuts.

yeah there is still a disc inside! see it? hear it? yeeeeaaaahhh.....take it out!

I'm pretty sure the only reason for the white laser light is to attract the attention of my one year old son. So many times this weekend, he has crawled over to the WiiU and ejected the disc. Before owning a WiiU, I could count the number of times he's done the same thing on my other consoles on the figures on one hand.

So I'm now ejected game discs after use, just to be safe.

I love how the disc goes full blast even of I'm idle on the Wii U menu :/

Game installs aren't the answer. There is no reason for the console to constantly spin the disc in the drive when it's not in use. Once at start up, or when a new disc is inserted, for the WiiU to read the game on it and show the correct icon. That's it.

I have noticed that the disc spinning eventually stops when you go into Wii Mode, but even then, it was something like 15-20 minute before the fucking thing stopped whirring.

I have so many issues with the hardware but since actually getting online I really don't care about them.

Miiverse is just utterly fantastic.

It's like Steam's Game Hubs but far more integrated to the actual experience of playing a game. It's sooooo good.

Play NSMB > pause game at awesome moment > add screenshot to Miiverse post > draw picture and write text > post!

Hah, I haven't drawn this much in ages.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
I've got a question--for those of you with good routers that have no connection issues with Wii U, what would you recommend for a new router? I've got a Linksys WRT54G and it is absolutely dreadful with my Wii U and PS3--just terrible download speeds. I don't have any connection issues, but I can rarely watch Amazon Video on those systems because of the router (I have no problem on my PC).

If anybody could make a recommendation I'd appreciate it.

are people not online or are they just not posting on Miiverse as much as we think?

I suspect it's people not online mainly, and also a lot of people not using Miiverse

With the wi-fi setup debacle, you'd have to assume a lot of people just haven't been able to go online at all. Biiiig screw-up by Nintendo. How could they not test this thoroughly?

well they should be looking at these numbers and see there is a huge problem with the Wi-Fi issues

If they are just now about to hit 100k users on the top community with at the very least another 500k not posting something is not going as planned

they would have had a PR brag about Miiverse numbers by now. ( they may still have one )

axisofweevils

Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
Those numbers are low.
Of course, some consoles could be waiting to be unopened as presents for the Holidays, but that is still a tiny number.
I really wonder why they made the Wii U Wi-Fi set up so much harder than the 3DS?
And of course, patching the Wii Us will be a problem - how can these people download it?

It shouldn't if you're doing it right-- as in, resting arm on leg/lap, and just aiming with your wrist, but I was kidding anyway, I know a lot of people dislike pointer aiming :p

If there's that many users that actively posted something I'd say that's actually pretty good. Just think about how many people lurk in threads vs actually posting in them.

I don't know, I can see 50k being given as holiday presents. Mine is, and I'm old enough to get it myself (i.e. not a minor).

Factor in there will always be a sizeable percentage of offline consoles. Not only that, I reckon a big chunk of the Wii Us that have been sold will be wrapped up waiting for Santa to drop them off in a few weeks time.

I don't think we have to assume that at all. Seems like a small but unfortunate minority on GAF.
