Damn, Salsa's rig can't even handle a 2d game smoothly?

Well, you sold me. I've been on the fence with it for a long time.

Do you think it would be enjoyable for a single player, too?

Yeah, though I think my appreciation for a lot of the aspects of the game increased when I was shared the experience with another person. It's still a really cool game for 5$.

I have a problem with steam now.

I was gone the weekend and now when I wanna try to activate a product-key, steam just wont response to anything anymore.
Anyone knows why or if there was an update during the weekend?

And if anyone wants a steamkey of Gish, tell me :)

Have you tried closing Steam and deleting ClientRegistry.blob? Also, how much time are you allowing Steam to activate the key before killing the process? It's not uncommon for the first key activation of an instance to lock up the program for ~30 seconds.

Opt out of the beta.

Switch off the beta then. They have been patching BPM in the beta almost every day for a little while now.

Buying my first PC and having to manually download all of my 207 games is a fucking pain in the ass. Why can't I choose "Download all"? Or at least highlight the desired downloads and start like 15 at a time.

Dude, don't go all in. Line up games to beat and delete.

It's not the most elegant solution, but any suspended downloads that result from you initialising more than one download will resume once the previous download has finished. You still have to manually install each of your desired games, but once they're sitting there in a suspended status, you no longer need to babysit the client.

haha I remember the times when I had steam just to play 1.6. We've come a long way.

I don't think there's a "download all" option. I remember people asking for it though. As steam users game catalogues keeps growing, this will probably be a feature that will be implemented in the future.

Yup, it's explained here and it's not a perfect solution. Pretty much the closest thing to what Kurdel wants to achieve though.

Worth noting

Start up and shut down of Steam can be very slow if to have 100+ active downloads.

Too fucking late man.

I have downloaded 350 gigs worth of games in 3 days, and I regret nothing!!

I am actually playing Dishonored seriously, and do plan to be a responsable impulse driven consumer and clear most of my backlog.

Is there a Steam Friends list for GAF users?

Agreed. Complaining about having to download all of your games seems completely silly.

Are you going to play all of those games? I doubt it. Bandwidth clearly doesn't seem to be an issue, so why not just install what you want to play?

*shrug*

May I?

Sadly, I have no idea why you're experiencing that problem. I redeemed a key last Saturday and it did it without any trouble.

Oops, just remembered something:
Oh nice, Steam decided to download the Orange Box updates at the same time it was resuming the The Witcher download, and now when I tried to redeem the Spec Ops key it completely froze. Fuck.

EDIT: after restarting it, it showed a Validating Steam files pop-up window and froze again. C'mon Gabe, stop fucking around with the server wires!

EDIT 2: what's this shit? every time I launch it it's going to update a different game? Portal and HL2 EP2 the first time, Dota 2 the second, and now Hitman Absolution? And with the client freezing all the time, I'm lucky if I even get to download 5 MB of each one.

FAKE EDIT 3: stealth TF2 update while I was posting this.
This was on Friday. Seems Steam is acting funny lately.

Not if many of your favourite games don't have an ending :p.

Well obviously there is a core set of games that everybody has consisting of their favs that they always boot up from time to time making it worth while to keep them installed. I was referring to "backlog" games that people tend to bitch about.

I go all in on the beat and delete lifestyle.

For example: pornography.

I just hope you don't apply it to your treatment of women....

I am not sure, but it seems I have another key for the Humble Bundle 2.

Braid, Machinarium, Osmos and something else. I am not sure if it still works, but if anyone wants to try, just say it. I will provide the key then.

I've been hoarding my unwanted keys lately in the hope that Valve will soon (that's "soon" in Valve Time) add the ability to activate keys pertaining to games you already own as inventory items (i.e. gifts).

I doubt that happens. I'm pretty sure the Humble Bundle stuff is purposely lumped together with the knowledge that a lot of people are getting a few games they already own. Same thing with the publisher packs during Steam sales.

Other indie bundles list the keys separately, as does Amazon when they sell Steam game bundles. If HIB wanted separate keys, I am sure they could get them.

Also, if you are hoarding keys for either individual games or bundles of games you already own, what is the purpose of wanting them in your inventory? You can already give them away, or trade them, or raffle them on Steamgifts.

If people can have the keys in their inventory they can demand something in return, shifting the humble bundles from charitable giveaways to harsh trading markets.

JaseC is leading the charge.

Oh, there's no practical advantage to be had (well, I suppose giving away the games through Steam would eliminate thankless lurkers and PMs of disappointment) -- the option is just something I'd like to see. I'll give the keys away ye olde fashioned way if nothing shows up.

It's too late to repair the damage now. Everyone is just grateful that you are off in some prison colony continent that Valve is only partially aware of.

Honestly, the first game as AP dumps you into things with the expectation you know what's up. I was reading that Orcs on the March is the AP vanilla campaign + additional content which made the base AP campaign redundant.

Thanks. I think I'll just start Orcs on the March and use a guide

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
I think the best way is to allow the developer/publisher to flag if a key can be sent to the inventory. This would allow the Humble Bundle folks to keep the keys out of inventory and out of the official economy, but permit people buying multiple retail copies for friends.

I see the headline now: Stallion Free to get kicked by the Australian Prime Minster with a boot to avoid an international incident.

Huh, Karateka is out (€8.99), I was not even aware it was coming to the PC, though not entirely unexpected.

Interesting, somehow they bypassed Greenlight even though they are technically 100% indie. Is Valve playing favorites? Does Gabe have a boner for Mechner?

Should we all start making livejournal posts about our own games progress on Greenlight??

I'm close to finishing Alan Wake on Nightmare difficulty, at least the main game.

I swear, some sections were frustrating as hell. I wish it wouldn't just spam as many enemies as possible but actually make them smarter. Otherwise I'm enjoying it but if there ever is an Alan Wake 2 I won't rush to buy it. The combat mechanics are getting old to be honest.
