Well ...
You didn't even need to say "well", just the picture is perfect.
This is pretty fast, no?
Well ...
Oh man, homebrew on the Pad would be the reason to buy a WiiU.
that was GeoHot and another guy, fail0verflow guys were never sued.
Still, I doubt this will lead to something substantial. It would be beyond embarrassing to fuck up the Wii U security like they did with the Wii. They learned their lesson after the DS and managed to lock down both the DSi and 3DS, so I would assume they've done the same with the Wii U.
Yeah, it's hacked. Wii U mode, not just Wii mode. Marcan said as much a week ago.

That cannot be the key, it's too short. Doesn't the 3DS use 1024-bit RSA keys? Nintendo really shouldn't be using such short keys on the Wii U. It's more likely they found a way to install custom IOS versions into the Wii mode (since there's no failproof way for Nintendo to prevent that).
I would be really surprised if the Wii U was hacked before 3DS.
Pardon me for uh being ignorant noob but why is freakin Nintendo so into about region locking in the first place?
Pro tip: 40 character hex strings are usually SHA1 hashes, not encryption keys.
er... From what I can gather in this thread. It's already hacked.

USB loading requires a custom IOS, and I don't think there's BootMii support yet.Yesss.. Can we do USB loading for Wii games? I'd love to put my Wii away.

It is. The hack just hasn't been released yet.No, no it's not.
SHA1 of the encryption key, confirmed!"Pro tip: 40 character hex strings are usually SHA1 hashes, not encryption keys."

No, no it's not.
Ok Homebrew dudes, now give me Wii mode and Wii-ware games on my gamepad, please!
are you kidding, do you realize what this means? Firmware updates galore!

.That's all I ask for. Not to mention the gamepad's resolution is the same as the Wii's so the games will look perfect on it!

I guess the hack will be released at 29C3 later this month.

Hacking the system is one thing, what you want is a completely different issue. Hacked or not, I don't see that happening anytime soon. And if it's going to happen, it'll probably be wonky.Ok Homebrew dudes, now give me Wii mode and Wii-ware games on my gamepad, please!
Holy....I guess the hack will be released at 29C3 later this month.
Yeah it might take a Wii emulator, or something. There's probably a reason why Nintendo couldn't get it working on the pad, with their sandboxed Wii setup.Hacking the system is one thing, what you want is a completely different issue. Holy....
How çan the system be less secure than the 2 year old 3DS? Blows my mind....
I think they just want to control prices in general, plus the 8-bit era had the added incentive of a lot of Japanese games they may not want seen by American players (easily) and that a lot of games weren't so text based as to be unplayable in Japanese. At this point it's probably more the former with the latter shifted to playing it VERY safe with rating controls, which does seem more believable after that Europe time limit insanity.Isn't it because they don't want Japanese consumers to import games from other countries? Because of the strong yen or something like that.
