Just got done playing Crimson with Domino, Tuna, and Havok...this game is fun and I really enjoy it.

I don't know if I'm easy to please or not a very harsh critic but it's literally 1,000 times better than Reach and 3.

But not 2. Never 2.
Apparently one of those SR130 guys (who were in a full team both times, from the looks of it) we were playing against was streaming the entire time and his channel randomly popped up as recommended for me on twitch just now. The game is becoming sentient. Edit: from the stream archive of our Shatter game against them - "I hate these tryhards, these guys are faggots." Classy.

H4 can be super good when everything works in its favor and you've got a good team. If they make/alter some gametypes to hit the highs of the previous games' set and tweak a few of the more annoying bits that the game has, then it'd be a serious contender for me.

HaloGAF's just a collection of Halo 4 BKs.

That worked, too? Anyways, I was very lucky with this achievement. I got it, the way the description says it.

*goes into mancannon on wreckage for the 1st time; get's the melee* :)

A tip for the Warthog one, that I heared from a friend. A splatter counts, too if you have been in the air a second ago. Like going through the mancannon with the warthog and then splattering someone on the cliff. But the chances, that something like this happens are what? 0.0001%? :lol

You need a lot of luck to do those achievements.

Or you simply boost them :p

Don't ever have enough friends on for boosting, and where's the fun in it anyway. Although some of these have no fun no matter what lol.

Still working on the hog one, and yes the jet pack melee worked perfect. I would have loved to nail a man cannon melee, but man was that hard.

I was foolish enough to read the most recent comment.

Even more foolish to upvote it.

So harvest is amazing and everything, but IDK how I feel about it on SWAT. It's worse than complex for this gametype.

How many gametypes have crimson DLC maps anyway?

I think that Halo 3's highs are among the highest in the series - CTF on The Pit and Valhalla, BRs on Citadel, BTB on Avalanche... They outclass everything that Halo 4 and Reach have.

Halo 4 has some really fun moments but for me it can't compare to those Halo 3 games.

Well, 80% of my friends are gone, since Reach. I'm playing regulary with 4 friends, from ~60 friends I have on XBL.

Those achievements are really bad. Don't know why games have those multiplayer achievements.

I have no issue with multiplayer achievements. I think there are better ways to do it.

Fuck if the entire incentive is to get the user to play your maps make them map and victory based. Like CTF on Harvest, Extraction on Shatter ect. That way people play to win and play often for the achievement.

-Score 2 flag points in one match on harvest
-Hold a hill on extraction for 45 seconds
-Hold the ball on Wreckage for 30 seconds

ect.

Wreckage is right up there with The Cage as one of the worst maps to ever disgrace the Halo franchise.
I do agree this map is one that simply doesn't belong in H4. There are no strong gametypes set up for it - though to be fair not many of the maps do. Where is the symmetrical stuff, which is what you'd expect in a game that's primary objectives of 2-flag, Oddball, and King of the Hill. What do we get? More asymmetry. This type of map is one I'd welcome in something in an older Halo game that relies on attack-defense. I've seen people mention 1-flag for Complex, but I don't think it would be too great. They insist on using every single objective in there, or anywhere. For instance, why is there KotH Ragnarok?
How long did it take them to fix melee in Halo 3? Just curious.
Melee was never "fixed" in that game. It went from simultaneous melees being connected and rewarding the person who had the most health pre-hit, to both players dying. That and it being just two smacks to kill. That is the point of the series they, for some reason, increased the strength of melee and made gun battles even longer. Close quarters combat became a melee fest.

Do you think the H4 melee is a step in the right direction then? Less lunge + weaker than reach?

The guns are more powerful, at least, but I still don't like double melee. The strength of it allowed the AR+rush BS to begin its course.

I find myself less in these situations than in H3 and Reach for sure, but I would still like it being decreased.

Warning: Don't see The Hobbit for the first time in 48fps. I made a huge mistake (to be fair, my GF tolerated it a lot more than I did)

Warning: Other than that, The Hobbit was awesome.

I'll be watching it tomorrow in 48fps and 3d. Hopefully my eyes can handle that for 3 hours.

I'm happy to hear doubles is going to be added, although I would have liked to play it during the holidays. Hopefully its a permanent playlist and not a weekly one.

Just read through the last couple of pages, I can't believe how many here use inverted sticks. Do you guys play Halo/Shooters with inverted too? Or just Third Person games?

Of course. Inverted is just more natural. It's like you would move your head. I'd pull my head back or down in the case of a joystick to look up and then I'd push it forward or up int eh case of a joystick to look down.

I find it almost impossible to play a game any other way. I made an exception for The Walking Dead for example but damn it was hard as hell.

Fallen Xbot (cannot continue gaining levels in this class)
wish we got this locale in halo 4. maybe in 5 or 6?

also, i HATE melee in 4. i whiff so many times where it really feels as though it should be a hit in mp and campaign. its among my biggest gripes and leads to much frustration. not sure if its the reduced lunge, or some other issue i actually have a beef with though

I can't even begin to fathom thinking like that. That train of thought only works for me when you're in some sort of airborne vehicle.

Not defending the lack of a setting though, there's no good reason to leave a standardized setting like that out. Like when games don't have a subtitle option.

So i am friends with Jeff Steitzer on Facebook as like a joke and he was the first person to wish me happy birthday on my wall today. Thought that was pretty funny.

I'm pretty easy to please too, but connection quality is my #1 priority, and 4's performance has been a clear step back from Reach's. It reminds me of the change from 2 to 3 (3 introduced a lot of design mechanics that hurt its network performance too) only 4 comes with a lot more glitches, too (I was so annoyed with the network performance of 3 compared to 2 I left for months to play Left 4 Dead).

Right now I'm playing through the entire Metal Gear series (on PS3/PSP), then I'm going to play through the entire Assassin's Creed series (Xbox 360/PSP/iPad). I'll probably still jump onto 4 and Reach, but it's not going to be an every day thing anymore.

new Alexandria was fucking awesome. I've played it so many times. same for many other levels in the game, along with ones from 3 and CE.

can't say I have any motivation to play through any halo 4 level again other than maybe second one or the jungle one.

That launch sequence out of the Infinity is easily one of Halo's most awesome set pieces.
I don't know. The opening sequence in ODST was pretty cool.
Biggest disappointment about the Pelican level was that the aircraft itself wasn't fun to fly at all. If they nailed the controls and feel better they could've added some substantive dogfights to mix things up a bit. Now all you did was fly towards a tower, destroy some practically stationary Phantoms from a distance and go inside. Nothing much to it.

And you don't even need to do that anymore if you do the shortcut method. Just fly to the shortcut and you skip both tower assaults.

I thought the chief waking up was going to be some awesome moment with a huge crescendo instead it was like "oh, I'm awake now and have to do a QTE to get out".

That may be the reason I don't like the campaign at all. I waited almost five years to do that? What happened to the destroyed ship I was supposed to be fighting against? Why does every key piece of equipment on the fud work? This is boring! Oh! An elite! I guess they're here now, that's cool.

Doo doo pies.

Why can't they both be cool?

I would comment on the controls but I was the second player in it. In terms of the visual set piece of flying out from the launch tunnel into the vast landscape with the Cryptum looming and the Forerunner structures hanging from above just doesn't get much cooler in the series.

Yeah man. Remember we did that glitch run.
That part needed something more. At least some banshees and some alternate routes.
Le poop

They could have put some banshees in there for sure. Maybe even some leeches as some kimd of boss unit. Right now, there is no challange at all in flying the pelican.

Master Chief awakes from cryostasis on a ship that's floating out in space. This is the start of a brand new trilogy. This gives them carte blanche to do anything.

Here are more grunts for you to fight.

Multiplayer takes place in a computer simulation. This gives them carte blanche to do anything.

Hope you like rocks.

Yep one of my biggest problems with the campaign. (and there are a lot)

How is ODST solo legendary difficulty? I've always been kind of afraid of it because you don't play as a Spartan.

Not much more difficult than Halo 3 was on legendary. The whole ''being weaker than a spartan'' thing is really overblown. You still have shields, only now, it's called stamina. I think you're maybe 10 or 20% weaker than the chief. The only thing you have to watch out for are the brute shots.

Give them a break, the Infinity crew are running those computer simulations on 7 year old hardware.
