Lol. Not even going to bother with this Infinity Challenge bullshit. Can't wait to see the socially awkward and jobless basement dweller who plays constantly for the next few weeks and wins a truck

Its (Composer) probably my favorite level in the game. I just prefer tackling the covenant instead of Prometheans I guess, and that mission keeps the pace up. Reminds me of CE in a lot of ways.
Yep. Promethean Knights are the Halo 2 Brutes of this game. How a bullet-sponge class of enemies is still considered quality combat in this day and age is mind-boggling.

I am consistently surprised when nobody gets in the Warthog on Harvest.

It's a death trap now that people can spawn with stickies. The map as a whole isn't very good for vehicles; you've literally only got two options to go... Left or right. And even then both sides are squashed in with bumps and giants rocks where people can hide.

I thought the indoors sections were pretty good; the encounter and environmental design overcame the generally poor AI and limp combat. I really hated the Mantis section at the end, though. Like, hated like I've hated few Halo segments before. But then I also hate the Mantis, so that has a lot to do with it.

The Halo 2 Brute comparison is apt for the Knights, but overall how you fight the Watchers, Knights, and Crawlers is very similar to how you would fight a swarm of Drones over and over again.

I think Knights had potential and they all had interesting behaviors, but I feel like 343 decided to ramp up their health so that each Knight has a chance to use all of its behaviors rather than let the combat flow and leave surprises to the player in future engagements.

Play a lot during the qualifier week.
Get placed into a "division" that puts you against other time grinding fiends.
These divisions regulate what prizes you can win.
Play a shit ton more during the tourney week/time limit.
Win one of 2,800 prizes.

Damn it. I went for 10 yrs old, this is better.

And then the put the easy to find content locked into Waypoint and defeated themselves.

What is there to discourage you from not playing a whole lot during qualifier week to be put in the lower division, then to up your game within the division?

I imagine the lower division prizes will be crappier, but it's hard to say.

I would take Prometheans any day of te week compared to a Drone swarm. Least fun enemies of any of the games (with ranged Flood pure forms a close second I think.)

The main reason why Promethean Knights feel like bulletsponges is because there's rarely any plasma pistols around when you're fighting them. The fact that headshotting them is really inconsistent doesn't help much either.

Can you only headshot them when they do their "LOOK AT ME MY HEAD iS ON FIRE" moments? Not sure why its so inconsistent.

Um.

I do not understand how it is possible to go positive in Big Team Battle. There is no logical reason any player could ever go positive in the video game equivalent of a Micheal Bay movie.

At the beginning of the campaign I was bummed out I was fighting covenant again but after the 3rd encounter I had with the prometheans, all I wanted to do was fight the covenant again.

The knights are the very definition of bullet sponges. And they're not distinctive enough. It took me halfway through the game to realize they were different classes of crawlers. On that point something needs to be done to distinct the enemies. In Reach I see an elite that's white I know to be cautious, I see an elite that's gold with a headgear, I know to stay the fuck away. The different permutations of the elites in Halo 4 just blend together.

I do wonder if 343i will take any of the feedback that they've heard for the next game.

Why the fuck would such an advanced race make their warriors leave themselves intentionally vulnerable to headshots immediately after losing their shields?

The Mantis section on Legendary is somehow far easier than I remember it being on Heroic.

I never found any pattern to the Drones, so I can't make that comparison. I just find the combat monotonous and completely unfun apart from Promethean assassinations.

Every enemy has amped up health. Notice how you can't snipe Elites on Normal... Again, another poorly executed way to try and add difficulty.

But immediately after losing their shields, it's impossible to get a headshot... In my experience anyway. There seems to be a second or two where you can't. Not entirely sure if 343i did it intentionally.

Makes fighting them seem really... dull.

Why would such an advanced race, WHO CAN TELEPORT, USE WEAPONS THAT REQUIRE AMMUNITION AND A COOL DOWN.

I feel like that is such a weird oversight that these folks have buildings that float and move independently of the main structure still have guns like the bolt shot. Do they just keep it around to think of the old days?

In my head, the Prometheans have no use for anything other than the binary rifle....which...2 rounds per clip? God, they were geniuses but no wonder they got overrun by the flood, just so terrible at thinking about war.

PROBABLY OBAMA'S FAULT.

I wasn't saying which was better, I was saying how you fight both enemies is very similar: It's best to stay behind cover and only peak out to take potshots. And that's boring.

Eh. I'd say it has more to do with the lack of clear, strong, and consistent feedback. Enemy feedback is down across the board in Halo 4, and it's very easy to pick out when you go back and compare it to older games.

Their headshot hitbox seems to be really small, and they might need to expose their ugly skulls to be vulnerable to the headshot.

The Knights also have a fucking lot of invincibility frames in their animation (particularly the standard teleport) which is super annoying, so yeah, who knows. Just keep hitting the trigger, I guess.

That part at least makes sense. The weapons don't need to reload or cool down until Chief has them, because his armor doesn't feed live hardlight rounds into the guns or whatever. Prometheans never reload or run out of ammo.

Until your light rifle runs out of ammo.

So, it's not explained anywhere, but the weapons adapt to whomever uses them or something.

Chief doesn't have Forerunner shit all over his body so ammo is necessary.

Terminal spoiler:
Ignore the terminal with Librarian shooting didact with a light rifle though.

I was able to run over to the backside of an empty LR ammo crate and still be able to fully reload my weapon (108 rounds) on the last part of Midnight yesterday. I could do this every time I tried despite being sent back to a checkpoint multiple times. Not sure if it's doable anywhere else, but it certainly helped me out there.

Well fuck me I had literally no idea.

If that's the case then why do they have ammo and gun crates everywhere? Doesn't seem at this point they should need them. Further, why don't they have it to where only THEY can use the weapons?

And back to my other point, why do they have anything that's other than a one shot kill? They should've used that technology for the boltshot and created some nasty one hit pistol.

And finally, WHAT ABOUT OBAMA HUH?
