GAF Secret Santa 2012

Finally got all my shit. Will wrap it and send it off tomorrow morning before work. Hopefully it will get there on time lol, it only has to go a few states over so I'm not too worried
 
A flash storm dumped half an inch of hail the size of Kix cereal in about 10 minutes, and when I pulled over to excavate my wiper blades (Which had been completely overwhelmed and stopped moving), I locked myself out of my car.

Really hoping I've got something waiting for me if I live to make it home. Heh heh heh.

It's cold, and there are wolves after me : (

Made it home alive, thanks to the timely arrival of roadside assistance. How strange that this massive deluge of hail was limited to only one part of town, nary a speck of precipitation to be found the rest of my way home.

No packages. : /
 
Still waiting here, wouldn't particularly be bothered if it doesn't make Christmas as I'm working anyway but it would be nice.

Also haven't heard if my TT has received their gift yet, hope there are no problems with customs or anything like that.
 
Been checking my progress regarding my TT's present and it just got processed in their home country this evening.

Hopefully it arrives before the week's out.

I am pleased.
 
I just posted my gift today, my TT in in the same state as me so hopefully he gets it very soon. It's a handmade gift with a few other things thrown in, but I really hope they like the gift!!!!
 
I really hope more tiny tims post that they have received their packages. We sent out RobertMs package mid last week, should have arrived Saturday but still no word from the tiny Tim. Going to have to look to see if i can find the tracking number.

I'm very glad I paid for tracking on mine. Though I believe my TT did say he received his package anyways.

I wish more Secret Santas would PM nicoga3000 or echoshifting to let them know that their TTs can expect their package.

I PM'd Nico my tracking number, since my TT is international. I have peace of mind knowing that someone else knows just where my gift is at the moment.

Ironically, I think I see my TT post in other threads than here. Ah well.
 
I'm trying to keep up with PMs and info, but there are a lot of them! :) As it stands, there are a few stragglers. I'm going to be posting the rules on the Black List this week. I think I have it figured out, but I'm going to type up a formal set of "rules" for it first.
 
Since we're postin' about this stuff. I haven't gotten anything yet, but am not super worried until the end of the week.
 
I don't know if my TT will get his present on time :( Local post office is a joke. The package spent 2 days sitting on a shelf before being sent to the central office. Now it's been 5 days since the package arrived at the central office, still no status update. They had said between 8 - 10 days, but at this rate, that seems far-fetched.

But don't Timmy, it'll arrive!

Opened my gift today, whoops. It was sent by Amazon, so I thought it was something I ordered, haha. No pics right now, cause my camera is half a country away, but I love what I got.

My TT's stuff has been sent! No card or anything, but it should be fairly obvious who sent it when they receive it (my username and all).
 
I'm actually surprised to see so many people waited til this week to send out their gifts. I wouldn't trust USPS to get gifts there on time. Plus I'd imagine this week is a nightmare waiting in line at the post office.

I used FedEx. No line, super simple, and it cost about $14 to ship a 3 lb. box to Illinois

It's probably a matter of this being some people's first Secret Santa so they might not be aware of the hazards of potentially sending things out a week from Christmas.

Yeah, next year, things will be different. We were a little lenient in shipping times, but with the Black List being put together this year, we will have something a bit more "concrete" to work with.

It's not me being a grinch or whatever, but committing to SS means you are agreeing to ship early enough to have the gift in your TT's hands before Christmas. I know it's hard, but that's why we try give people about a month! :)

I'll be glad to participate again next year too. I guess I've done enough selling on the buy/sell/trade thread, and on ebay that I guess I'm more familiar with how shipping things out works out sometimes. Even though I know my TT's package has arrived, it actually arrived several days later than it was originally scheduled to. In that case I'm glad I sent it out as early as I did.

It's more of a way of ensuring that folks don't get burned or heavily discouraged. There are a lot of things that are hard to put rules on. Shipping date is tough, but since its a Secret Santa, getting your gift after the holiday is sort of a buzz kill and defeats the purpose of the entire thing.

I'm excited to see that, so far, things seem to be going quite smooth. There's a few days left before things start to get messy, but we will cross that bridge when we get there. There is a final cutoff date set, but it hasn't been made public yet. I'm sure things will go great, though. :)
 
Well, I saw that my TT got his present... So that's a relief.

... But on my side, no presents :(

It's only Wednesday, so there's still 4 postal days, but kinda scared I'm going to get burned again.

Posted my TT's gift, I know it was late but had to wait on a gift to arrive in the mail. Still haven't received anything yet, but I am patient.
 
Well, maybe in Xmas day we could open a new thread. I'm driving mad the guard of my building asking if there is a packet for me haha. I'll wait, never the less here in China there is no Xmas holidays :/

E: Should it be about Christmas Gifts or Christmas/Holiday Gifts or just Holiday Gifts? I don't want to offend those GAF folk who celebrate other gift going holidays at this time...
 
My TT should recieve his this week. I post mine a week ago. No tracking number :(

Still waiting for any gift here. But I'm not concern, I'm used to last minute shopping

Thank you guys for keeping me updated on when your gifts were sent. It's VERY important that that info is passed on. It will definitely help keep you off the Black List from next year. :P
 
Personally I think it'd make sense to keep the reveals contained in this thread, but if we do a separate thread, I'd want to keep it apart from a general holiday loot haul thread.

But that's just me.

I like the idea of keeping SS stuf here myself. A holiday haul thread is nice for general stuff (and you can put your SS stuff there!), but this is sort if the OT for SS stuff.

Regarding PM updates, no - if you update us here, that's sufficient. But post a fresh update rather than edit your post. You can PM me your tracking though - I wouldn't openly post that since it can contain addresses and such.
