I wonder how many people will buy the Crimson maps after a week 'trial' (and achievements).

So far it doesn't look like many. When I was on earlier today it was the 3rd least popular playlist.

It was at about 2.5-3% of the total population during peak hours earlier. Sad considering it hit 25% on the day it was released.

However inadvertant it was, having a trial period is a smart idea...if the DLC is good. The handling of the "promotion" and the maps' quality will probably result in a fairly low attach rate (compared to what it could have been, at least - the existence of season passes and LE users getting them for free will probably result in a decent number of people with the maps).

Thiiiiiis.

If you're not a fan of the boltshot why are you trying to think of every reason to defend it.

PS. Boltshot kills are on par with my melee kills lmao. They're both fighting for 5th tool of destruction. It's really the 4th if you remove all the sniper kills I got in Team Snipes. DMR, BR, (sniper) Melee/Boltshot

I believe there are enough counters to keep it in the game, it just needs a range nerf and reload fix. Perhaps making it highlight more like a camo + PP charged does too.

I've posted this before but some counters are:
1. Hologram fake out
2. Team melee
3. Grenade flush out
4. Evade using PV
5. Power weapons like rockets
6. Evade using player awareness
7. PP + melee if you have a decent connection or host

lmao

my nat isn't compatible with 2 of my friends, so we always have one other friend play with us so we can all connect. in reach, if the one friend left, it was no problem, we just couldn't join each other if any of us left. in 4, if my friend with the friendly nat leaves, it just boots us all back to the lobby individually

I used to have the same problem with a friend of mine, for some reason my university network refused to work with his network at home. But all I had to do was trigger some ports on his router and we haven't had any problems since.

mmm, this game is great. love having halo nights.

best thing tonight though was on haven, in one of the bottom hallways. killed a guy with sword in the nick of time, picked it up, ran around a corner and lunged a guy from behind. saw another guy up all the way at the top of the hall, i thought i was screwed. but then an enemy dropped down from the gap above and i immediately lunged him which carried me almost to the end of the hall. last guy tried plasma pistoling me and i nabbed him before he could. all in like 3 seconds. i was so energized.

Never really did understand why people pay for content that used to be free. Apparently voting with your wallet isn't a thing.
Of course you could just whore Bing Rewards. Even then the DLC seems like a waste, even though I'm technically using free points to get it.
I sure hope that sponsorship is making them more money than Crimson is.
Gotta hope so, seeing as there is minimal incentive to buy BTB DLC for a game that has a very "meh" BTB.

There have been days where the population for BTB was higher than Infinity Slayer. A significant chunk of the people still playing this game seem to really enjoy BTB, so more big maps do make sense. It's just not what this crowd would have preferred.

I'm surprised to see that the Flood playlists has so few players in it compared to the other playlists. In Reach the Infection playlist was consistently one of the most popular ones.

Having only played a couple of games of it myself, it seems way harder to camp and pad stats as a human with the zombies taking 3+ shots to kill and all. I suspect a big part of Infection's popularity was the turkey shoot aspect of it. Funny that by making it a better base gametype, they killed its popularity.
