Hmm, well apparently no one can understand what I am saying and keep thinking I'm taking shots at Bungie.

So you all are 100% assured that Destiny will be the best thing ever made, and top Halo in all regards? Am I not right to hold back some hype because Bungie's been on Halo for 10 years and nothing else?

Should I not wonder if they can do it again?

I apologize if it's coming off (through text) like I'm throwing them under the bus. Far from it. Bungie is on my short list of all-time favorite developers. I'm just not ready to confirm Destiny as the second-coming of Halo.

I think you're right to hold off from thinking it'll be as much of cultural hit as Halo, but if there's one thing Halo 4 has shown me, it's that Bungie are a top, top development studio.

Still starting matches uneven, JIP when down by 400, getting the boot out of games for no apparent reason...etc

Geez, but isn't the truck wonderful

Yup. Hell even Oni was damn fun and it was made in a very very volatile time in Bungie's History. I to this day long for a proper sequel to that game.

I remember when I first played it when I was like 6 I got stuck on the tutorial because I didn't know what button L3 was...

Worked pretty well for that Spartan Ops episode...
All I remember about that map and Spartan Ops is them dropping off a large group of enemies near the blue flag spawn. Most of which just stood there with braindead AI (didn't react to shots, or move). Ragnarok was the same way. Great mode that turned out to be.

That's odd, those two maps were by far my favorite episodes. The episode with the Mantis on Ragnarock was hectic and awesome in co-op.

Sorry to hear you didn't have fun.

Servers seem to be down.

Surprisingly the search filter for "Good Connection" works. At least for me, anyway.

every game i play, even with good connection, has my grenade throws lagging like crazy. :(

just popped in the game to play and the servers are down. that sucks.

Played two games of Infinity Slayer that are everything wrong with this game. I think I'm done for now, time for ARMA II.

Game 1: JiP Complex. Trying to use the Battle Rifle. Everyone on the other team was using DMRs. Best guy on their team had Stability, so I really didn't have much of a chance (BR standard vs DMR stability lol). We were decimated. I went something like 6-14

Game 2: Abandon. I thought it was going to be 3v3, but the game started 2v4 so we lost the opening rush to the power weapons. I was constantly haunted by this motherfucker and his goddamned sword. Every second I saw him flying around the corner with mobility. Then he got speed boost. Speed boost + sword + mobility is a massive clusterfuck. At one point I thought I was safe - I had just spawned and quickly checked the motion tracker, so I dropped in my SAW. Instantly this guy just rolls in and takes me down, grabs my saw, gets a spree with it. There were multiple points where I had to counter people corner camping with boltshot + PV or boltshot + camo. The only thing about the game was that I learned that the Railgun is a monster. We lost by six points, with me being the only person who went positive (21-16).

Right now, I don't really expect Destiny to have PvP multiplayer, at least not like Halo. I expect it to have tons of cooperative stuff, but I'm not so sure it'll have competitive multiplayer.

j/k...sorta...

ONI controlled like shit on PS2 from what I remember.
The game didn't control too wonderfully on PC either, so I was always curious to get my hands on a PS2 copy to try. I mean, it was fine for the most part, but then out of nowhere you'll get an instant death platforming section with a character that has movement not acclimated towards platforming at all.

I remember a while back some people on here were wondering why Bungie never changed the "flailing falling" animation. Dead bodies don't flail their arms as they're falling through the sky, so why keep it like that?

For my review of Halo 4, I've been playing the past games to compare feedback, and I now realize that not changing it wasn't laziness on Bungie's part or an oft-repeated mistake. One pillar of the thirty seconds of fun is having exaggerated – to the point of being comical – audio, visual, and gameplay feedback. I'm talking about campaign here, but feedback is still important in MP.

Watching a guy flailing his arms as he falls through the air is a lot more fun than a falling limp body.

I don't remember if Halo 4 has the flailing animation, but it's just a thought I had.

It does. But only on occasion. Reach kinda went overboard with death animations though.

But Halo 2 headshot flip will forever be the best death feedback.

I can't say I was impressed with the gameplay clip shown at the VGAs, it seemed all over the place. I still have Bioshock 2 in the backlog though so I won't be playing Infinite anytime soon.

Well damn...you gonna be playing that anytime this century?

Edit: Infinite is it's own story, fyi

The original Bioshock was a bit disappointment but I hope 1999 mode delivers.

Bioshock was excellent and 2 was phenomenal, especially MP.

End of the world. Grab your magical woodwind instruments because we're in for a wild ride.

Fan thing for Majora's.

Ah, I was hoping for an HD remake.

I loved Bioshock. 2 was good but nowhere near as good as the first. Is 1999 mode some sort of hardcore mode?

When the hell did you change your username?
A day or two ago.

When the sky turns red and you hear the horns, Close Encounters of the Third Kind all in my feels.
The environments in Bioshock are aways awesome.

Despite its commentary on game stories it was a mechanically dumbed down version of System Shock with Spartan Ops style respawning up until they patched in a mode to give you actual deaths.

Haven't played 2 though, but I'm a fan of Steve Gaynor so I always wanted to give Minerva's Den a shot. Maybe when I get a few MS points.

Yeah, supposedly to make things a bit more SS2-like, but I don't know how they'd do that without implementing a few things exclusive to that mode. Should be interesting, would love for it to deliver on the promise.

You could make a very good argument that Minvera's Den is better than BioShock 2 itself.

I hear this everywhere about Minvera's Den so I bought it and only got about 45 minutes in. Played something else and have yet to go back. I like the premise a lot, does it pick up as it goes?

Play it for the heart wrenching ending.

In terms of picking up, Minerva's Den goes at a very sedate pace all the way through I thought.

I know there are quite a few Bioshock fans on here.

The opening few minutes of Bioshock Infinite.

Obvious spoiler warning, it's looking fantastic.

I will buy it when it becomes cheaper like any single player game, but dat opening.

I had more fun playing Reach a month after release than I have had with 4. I barely have any motivation to play the game. That wasn't a problem with Reach till after a half year of playing.

Maybe I'm just getting tired of Halo's gameplay, but I think it's the direction Halo multiplayer is taking.

Halo 4 feels hollow for me, there is no motivation of winning or something. I played the game yesterday and most of the matches everyone keeps in theirs bases with camo killing each other until one of the team were starting to slowly winning and some few souls wandered in our base to have more kills. In Crimson playlist is worse, half of the team just take the ghosts and start driving around and others doing cheevos in a extraction mode...
