No CE for me unless some american retailers get some at the last minute... kinda bummed but I'm determined to stay positive. I'm still incredibly thankful and excited that we are getting this game.

(952) 392-2057 - I got this contact number from a Namco email rep, and was finally able to reach an agent who took down my updated billing info and assured me my order would be updated system-wide within 3 days.

You might get a rejection initially. Just mention that others have done it. If they can't fulfill your request, just call back a few minutes later and speak to someone else.

I gave it one more try. This time I agreed to place a new order and cancel the old one. I was willing to try this because I have another copy on preorder with a valid CC. I'll keep you updated, but it seems this is our only option.

I ordered the ultimate wizard's edition, or whatever it's called, back in August from Namco Bandai. Refresh my memory... how much did I spend on this thing?

GAME has it for £69.99 instead of £79.99:
http://www.game.co.uk/en/ni-no-kuni-wrath-of-the-white-witch-wizards-edition-180778?pageSize=20&searchTerm=ni%20no%20kuni

Also their standard edition says that they'll give the companion book as a bonus offer:
http://www.game.co.uk/en/ni-no-kuni-wrath-of-the-white-witch-180061?pageSize=20&searchTerm=ni%20no%20kuni
gm_widget_NoNiKuni.jpg

So......European CE only has extra plushie and the two gold familiars then?

P.S UK/EU guide book buyers, their hard book guides are £14.99 instead of £19.99 unless someone found a better price?

Wow that's not much more than the US version (including shipping). Ughhh man I'm really torn I'd rather have this day one. I think I'm just going to go with US ver and the guide from the description it sounds like it will be pretty good, 400 pages with hardcover.

Thanks. Now I just need to come up with an excuse for this impulse buy to explain to the wifey.

I feel sorry for you gaffers with non-gaming partners :(

I was trying to keep this a secret from my fiance and surprise him with the Wizard's Edition when it came out (I don't think he even knew this game existed) but when I was sitting next to him last night he opened this thread, doh!

It's all good though, don't think I could've held on much longer since I'm so excited about it.

It's a relief to hear multiple people reporting this. I assume they test charge your card again?

Well if your partner is not a gamer you can lure them with the Studio Ghibli name and if they don't know about Studio Ghibli let them watch some Miyazaki's movies, they will become fans immediately.

GAME ships to the US, right? Could I pre-order the Wizard Edition from that site and have it shipped to the US, no problems? I missed out on the NA Wizard Edition back in the summer so this is my only chance if I'm going to get the cool collector's edition.

If I used a CC on the namco website (USA) to buy this when preorders first came out did they charge me already? The CC I used expires this month so that might be a problem if they didn't already charge me.

For me they just put transaction on hold and return it after several days. Only pay-pal users get charged before shipping. So, I guess, you better call to namco and ask them if they can update CC info for you.
If you will use e-mail, be aware that several users got canceled their pre-orders, when the just asked about possibility to update their info.
Tomorrow I will send the a letter and ask them to update my shipping address (just building number), because my mail-forwarding company changed warehouse. And I hope that they will not cancel my order. I will write their answer later.

The wifey liked Howl's Moving Castle and that's about it. I could explain the Studio Ghibli stuff all night, but all she'll see is $$$. I think I snuck it through though. ;)

Ugh, this all seems like a big hassle with all the problems they are giving everyone trying to change their orders.

I read their FAQs ahead of time, so I knew before ordering that changing anything would be a hassle. Luckily, I haven't had any problems.

I got 2-day shipping when I ordered back in July or whatever and it's down to $111 and some change.

I made sure to note this so I just had to keep myself from getting much of anything else. Dead Space 3 next month will be an exception and I got that pre-ordered for $44.99 at Newegg anyway so it's not all bad.

We don't have "get out of jail free" cards, but if we did, she'd have one.

They definitely ship to the US. I've ordered from them before with no issues, though the situation was entirely different (not a preorder, not a big heavy LE) so caveat emptor.

Though if they cancel your order saying "sorry, we can't ship this outside of the UK" (as appears to be the case with the standard edition bonus book) it's not like you'll be any worse off. If I wanted the LE, I'd probably hazard it.

Hehe, I actually need to get my fiance to stop me spending money on games... Maybe we should do a swap for awhile :p

I cancelled my Zavvi order to make myself (and my credit card) feel better. Still got 3 on order though, just in case a retailer doesn't pull through...

Delayed to February 1st in Europe and Australia but there will be a free Draggle familiar download from launch day.

Due to logistics delays Ni no Kuni will launch 1st February 2013 with a free gift to download. Many of you are excited so we asked the wizards at LEVEL-5 to dig into their creature cage and they pulled out an adorable Draggle familiar. The Draggle familiar will be available to download for free from the day of launch #NinoKuni

Yeah, was just about to post this but from the FB side of things.

Annoying but at least we're being compensated for the weeks delay so it's not too bad. But still annoying. (Glad NBUK decided to get us something for the delay. many wouldn't even bother)

The book added as a bonus for standard edition states it is in Japanese, is the collectors edition version in Japanese too??

Seems dumb for it to be in Japanese since they translated every page for the in-game version and it's identical.

Can anyone tell me if the "griffy familiar" is worth pre-ordering the game for? I'm pretty sure I want to play the game right when it comes out so I'll probably pre-order it either way, but I'm just wondering.

I have been looking for more info on the familiars I suppose it's beneficial to have a large group of them for variety. They are kind of like Pokemon from what it looks like, they evolve have special abilities. Griffy looks pretty cool though.

Well, the more the merrier...

GRIFFY

Able to spy its prey from great distances, the Griffy is known as the Hunter of the Skies. With its fearsome Phantom Fangs and its potent Petrifying Puff, this creature is not to be trifled with, especially when it evolves into its most lethal forms, the Griffurnace or the Griffigerator.

FLUTTERBY

This elegant flying creature delights all who are fortunate enough to catch it, but beware of its Gust Buster and its perilous Poison Pinch. The Flutterby evolves into either the midnight Flutterby or the midday Flutterby, depending on the path chosen by its owner.

I think every bonus familiar is worth it for Ni No Kuni.

For those who are confused, as far I can tell the book included in the Wizard's Edition is in english.

The book offered by GAME.co.uk as a bonus offer is in japanese and it is only available to those who live in the UK. They probably got some leftover stock from Japan, as the book was offered during the launch of Ni no Kuni in Japan.

To sum it up, do not buy from GAME expecting to get the book if you live outside of the UK. I have purchased other games with bonus offers from them before to check if I'd get any bonus and they did not send it, they only send the game.

Hope this helps ;)

So did this go through ok? I was told the same and I am really scared to cancel my order as I'm not sure the customer service understands the item isn't for sale anymore.

They told me to check and see if my bank would authorize the old billing address first, I had to contact the bank by email only about it yesterday since I had spent long enough on the phone at work with Namco. Havent heard anything from the bank yet, it's probably a ridiculous request.

You're right about that. Asking your bank to authorize a charge with incorrect billing information isn't going to work. Your best bet in my opinion is to let them cancel the order and place another one.

I do not know if it worked, but I did receive a confirmation email for my new order. So far so good.

I agree with you, it is a risk, but it might be the only chance we have at getting our orders fulfilled.

The first representative (Ryan) that I talked to told me that there was no way that I could change my billing information, but I asked to talk to a supervisor (Kirby). The supervisor was super nice and he got around it by cancelling the initial order while opening a new one for me with the updated information. I ended up receiving a confirmation e-mail from the store and it's showing up in my Order History. He did it in a way that just carried the reserve stock from my initial pre-order over to my new order. Definitely see if you can talk to a supervisor.

He also upgraded me to Next Day Shipping for free. ;)
Man, thanks for the tip! We tried this and it *seems* to have worked. Got a cancellation email for the first order and a confirmation email immediately after for the new order the rep placed. *crosses fingers* I hope this works, I hope this works.

Just reordered too and got the confirmation but man I'm so nervous! I almost wanna preorder at gamestop too so I at least get the steelbook (or is that over?).

Any chance that this game could get a port to Wii U?
I know there was a DS Ni No Kuni game in Japan, so would it be unreasonable to see this game ported to other systems?

Just wondering.
