I'm exhausted. I'm tired of all of the people who are choosing to settle for less. No one should just accept what 343 is doing if they don't like it. Seriously, complain where they can see it. Why would you accept these empty promises and half-truths? I've been complaining about the game because I like the franchise and I do not enjoy seeing it brought down with sub par games. I'm doing my best to not add to the population numbers either. 343 doesn't seem to get the picture despite people's complaints with H4 and Reach. Perhaps if the population falls enough they will understand.

Don't settle for a poor game; demand something better.

And saying "Halo 4 is bad" and "343 is shit" is making the game better? No. It's just repeating the same shit over and over again. At least make a well reasoned suggestion or something.

You seriously think the fact that you're negative about Halo 4 is the issue here? For the past few weeks you've been making posts upon post of one-liners and snarky remarks about how awful Halo 4 is. I can deal with that if it's an occasional response to bad news about the game or 343 or whatever, but you've been excessively making those posts seemingly at random.

Thanks, Obama.

Foundation is the greatest map ever invented.

You can tell because it's the easiest map to make in Forge, but no one makes it.

It's like its jersey was retired.

I've played an H4 Foundation forge map. Forgot who made it. Was a little rough on the edges but still a bit of fun.

Oh, that sounds awesome, especially with MLG's v1 settings. Can you link me to their File Sha...

Just kidding, do you have their GT? I can look it up and check it out.

Foundation could be really fun with Extraction/Dominion.

Capturing and defending bases, aw yeah.

As someone who values good objective gametypes more than most things, yes, Reach was better. Not the base mechanics, no, though I think TU Reach is good enough. But I could play a good version of CTF (both 1 and 2 Flag), I could play Assault (my favorite gametype in the series), I could play a version of Oddball and King that, while not as refined as the current versions, were still plenty of fun. For folks that play primarily Slayer, I understand a preference for H4, but the objective modes are sorely lacking. To put it in perspective, Adrift is the only map in the CTF playlist that is truly symmetrical and that shows up with any degree of regularity (which discounts Crimson maps). Meanwhile, maps that could be fine with good gametypes exist in H4, but are being criminally underutilized. Why doesn't Longbow or Meltdown have any CTF yet? Instead we're seeing half the maps in the game being used for A) BTB Slayer (zzzz) or B) Dominion (a Heavies-style power weapon clusterfuck, hooray!).

Haven is fine, but it's a Slayer map that happens to work with Oddball, rather than an objective map that happens to work well with Slayer.

Different priorities, is all.

I agree, but at least that's easily fixable if 343 could just realize it. Why there isn't an unwritten game law that asymmetrical maps should never be used for CTF is beyone me. Meltdown was screaming CTF when I first watched the IGN walkthrough, not fucking Complex.

These rotational playlists are only good when the default playlists are fun. It's sad when players are relying on one playlists every week to spark their interest back in the game. 343 needs to look at how Bungie handled it, because it was obviously better. The only thing 343 has improved on playlists wise is that DLC maps are in regular gametype rotation, which is a first for Halo.

The problem with the DLC in Halo 4 is it lags like hell. Shatter is a mess anyway, those bases flow like shit are can be a pain in the ass to navigate. Wreckage just has flags out in the open and such, its so brown you cant tell what it going on half the time. Harvest is the best one but the building structure in the middle of the map so high in the air makes it play like 2 different maps. Its open around the edges then really confined with no clear lines of sight once you are on the structures.

I think mainly 343i underestimated how many people still play splitscreen and non of the DLC perform well there.

I don't remember who made it...

This actually sounds sick.

You mean Powerhouse? You mean Powerhouse.

No. Default Countdown is one of the most boring and uninteresting things to play (behind Sword Base). Just a massive campfest where most people are just crouching around with CCQ weapons. MLG Countdown I actually quite enjoy.

If you say so. There just has not been any good news these past few weeks either. The majority of posts in this thread are either complaints or people praising every aspect of the game.

Thing is, I don't think their current settings for CTF would be worth a damn in an 8v8 environment. Imagine grabbing the flag and heading out the teleporter only to have 8 DMRs hitting you at once because you have a waypoint over your head. Honestly, I don't know if they see the issues I have with the gametypes as a problem or part of their intended design, which is slightly terrifying.

Not sure what you mean by this. It's how they've always worked - a dedicated playlist goes up for those that only want to play DLC, but they're integrated into the default playlists at the same time. For example, when Defiant came out, there was a Defiant Map Pack playlist, but Highlands was added to Team Snipers/BTB/Multi-Team at the same time. Same for Condemned with The Arena, Rumble Pit, Living Dead, Team Slayer, Team SWAT, Team Objective and Multi Team, and Unearthed for the Firefight playlists.

If you're talking about how they've supposedly increased the weighting for DLC matching, then I'll take your word for it, as I've had Crimson come up in other playlists zero times.

yep either Nilla's or Computron's map is the best remake I saw.
The only problem I've had with any of the Foundation remakes is that the rooms are too dark because of the lighting system. The dark rooms destroy any sense of space or depth.

My favorite Reach moments occured on Zealot and Asylum. My least favorite Reach moments occured on Countdown, Boardwalk and Paradisio.

Screw countdown, hard.

No good memories on Swordbase?

Sooo maybe try not posting until there is?

There may never be any.

Countdown with radar is just awful. You can't move an inch without people knowing exactly where you are. Oh and then tight corridors with with sword and shotgun is awesome.

Default Countdown with radar and MLG Countdown without radar is like night and day.

The corridors were tight but something about the doors just always seemed off to me. They seemed too small and like they were only 85% open.

Hmm, maybe that's what always seemed odd about that map to me. I liked Countdown certainly wasn't the greatest map though.

It was a poor version of Construct. There were some good ideas but they weren't well executed. The catwalks and small lift rooms really hurt the map. A full floor that ran around the whole top of the map would have helped.

The ship in the middle didn't help the claustrophobic POS map any either.

I am, and I'm having the opposite experience. I see a Crimson map about every 3-5 games.

So, what about H4's do you most enjoy?

Complex is an amazing objective map, Adrift is great for both slayer and objectives, Heaven is one of the best halo maps period, Solace like Adrift, great for multiple games-types. Exile is super fun in bigger games and so is vortex and longbow. You guys are fokin blind.

There are so many things in this post that make me weep for humanity.

Ah thats right, 343 made the game. How dare i give them some positives. Sorry gaf.
Give me a break. Symmetric gametype on a blatantly asymmetric map, how dare we think it's not the second coming of Christ?

CTF on that map is a travesty, blue has a distinct advantage over red by virtue of the layout. One base allows for carriers to exit with plenty of cover, the other carrier has to travel through a killing field. Make a setup with 2 blue guys on top of the central building (the lone power spot on the map which is far more accessible from blue side), and red team is fucked.

Sorry, I must hate 343 too much to see how that's a good thing.
I was also a huge fan of Zanzibar, youre point?
Please show me when you played 2 Flag on Zanzibar.

You didn't. Because that would be asinine.
