Not a game I would have bought in the first place, but this growing trend of half-assed partial localizations is worrying.
You're not doing any favors to your game being niche and not selling a ton by adding a language barrier.
It hasn't affected a game I care about yet, but I think we should try to do something about it. Petition?

I'm perfectly fine with more games with japanese VA + subs if that means we get the games
A few of the importers are saying that it's repetitive?
Can some of you expand on that, if you could?
The game had limited appeal in the first place (moreso with the gameplay sounding mediocre), and most of that appeal will lie with an audience that prefers Japanese VA. Plus I have a feeling they wouldn't have gotten the correct VA for each character, and thus it'd screw up the fanservice part anyway. Not a game I would have bought in the first place, but this growing trend of half-assed partial localizations is worrying.

Pretty much this.
What are the chances of the being digital only like Unchained Blades?

The original game uses original voice actors, right? It would be a nightmare tracking down all the original US actors on top of that, as well as recasting characters who never spoke English before.
That, and 86% of the audience for this game would hate Namco for not giving a JP option.
I haven't finished the game yet but a lot of it is once you find the best chain of attacks for a pair/pair with support, combat doesn't change too much. Everyone seems to get an additional attack or attacks upon hitting a certain level but that's not really enough to drastically change your attack orders. Every battle is basically: launch enemy/break enemy shield to launch them, and keep them in the air as long as possible until you run out of moves or they die. It's identical to Endless Frontier.
Also, IIRC enemy health starts out pretty low at first when you can take out each unit with a single pair unit but it scales pretty high after a few hours where it's taking multiple pairs to take out a single unit, and then there are like 20+ of those units on the map so it feels really grindy/drawn out. It's a weird spike in the length of time it takes to complete each mission and the difficulty of the monsters too; I'm frequently getting new characters who are many levels above the ones I currently have (so the new characters will be on equal level with the enemies of the stage) so I could be doing something wrong in maximizing XP gain though.
A lot of the novelty in every mission so far has been seeing what new characters I get and playing around with the kit. After that wears off it's just beating up enemies to get to the next stage. I can't read any Japanese though but that's just what I find repetitive in the gameplay.

By about a little over halfway through the game you'll have unlocked every character as well as all of their attacks, so the feeling of character growth is gone and every stage is just a grind to get to the next one. Later on stages can take a good 1-2 hours to complete and the stages themselves are pretty barren with with no meaningful terrain mechanics other than some walls and obstacles.A few of the importers are saying that it's repetitive?

It's generally agreed that the game falls apart after about the halfway point. They use the same plot element over and over again to explain why you need to go onto the next stage with the villains doing the same thing over and over as well. The story doesn't make you eager at all to see what will happen next.
The game's supposed to be about 50 hours long and I stopped a little short of 40 after reading it doesn't get much better. I still liked it better than NxC but it's quite terrible as an SRPG.
So happy this is coming over. I never thought it would. Thank ye Harada.
Question though, what is the pronunciation?

Not to bad NoA, not to bad.

Considering the reception in Japan, this announcement is getting way more excitement than it probably deserves. There will be a lot of disappointed fans, come summer, I expect. But, hey, any localization news is good news.
I'll likely still buy it, just for the hell of it.

I gladly bought Endless Frontier knowing what it was, and I'll gladly buy this. I hope the same goes for the rest of the people planning on getting it, though.

I'm pretty certain that it is pronounced like the bolded. That said, get prepared for much of the gaming press to use the first pronunciation.
I was an irrationally obsessed Namco fanatic when Namco x Capcom came out and it still managed to disgust me at how bad the game was.I think a lot of people are just seeing their favorite characters and don't care about how it's going to play.
