Not week in week out but if you are willing to pay £10m for a player then he should be able to contribute immediately in some way. And although we wouldn't be expecting match winning contributions or anything, more likely sub appearances and maybe a start or two against some of the weaker teams - just having him at the club means he can settle.

But anyways, seems like he will be staying there until the end of the season.

Seems better to let him develop with more game time. He'll have plenty of time to learn the ways of United with him coming on to sub Giggs at the 70th minute until Frogie retires.

He'd be starting for Liverpool every week.

I'd expect more from Zaha though, simply because I think if we sign him then we won't be signing another winger in the summer.

I agree with this. The only way we'll sign another winger is if SAF sells two of Val/Young/Nani. But that's unlikely to happen.

One winger in, one winger out.

Oh no. Ogden reckons United are looking into signing a new keeper as a DDG replacement. Argh. Really hope they don't get panicky so soon. Not the right call IMO.

Selling DDG would be a mistake.

He has massive potential and he's still only 22.

That article also mentions that Lindegaard is seen as unreliable by United staff.

But if SAF has lost patience with De God then he'll be sold.

Ballague seems to rate Coutinho based on his spell at Espanyol, any La Liga/Serie A experts got an opinion on him?

I have no idea how he has been doing this season, Adriano999 would know more.

But at Espanyol he was impressive. I think he would be a good signing for Liverpool.

He doesn't have the experience of Sneijder since he is young but he is good enough from what I've seen.

If he's lost patience then he's an idiot for paying £18m for him in the first place.

When we signed De Gea we knew, or we should have known, that it wasn't going to be plain sailing. This would be a terrible knee-jerk reaction.

De Gea is saving us alot more points that he's costing us. Infact this season, I really can't say that the dropped points at Everton, Spurs, Norwich or Swansea have been down to him. It would be massively unfairly to pin the blame on him when Ferguson has turned a total blind eye to the other obvious defensive frailties.

The decision by Barcelona’s Victor Valdes to reject a new contract at Barcelona will ensure that United consider the 31-year-old, while the uncertain future of Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas could present Ferguson with the opportunity to recruit a goalkeeper regarded by many as the best in the world.
This article is bollocks.

Viva I assume that was you on Wiki earlier? It'd be weird if you were on my name entry otherwise :lol

Imagine Butland and Zaha in 1 window. Would be like Kelberson and the Djemba twins all over again.

There was actually only one Djemba but he was so good it felt like there was two of him

I was watching the Saints game and Nathaniel Clyne was playing well. Then I was thinking hmm, is Nathaniel a biblical name? I wasn't sure so I googled it. I clicked the wiki link and I learnt it was a Hebrew name. It had a list of famed Nathaniel's and well...I couldn't help myself.

Yes it was me.

Agreed

Fergie knew that he wasn't buying the finished article. If he wanted that then he should have signed an experienced keeper.

Unfortunately, I think he'll be pushed out and we'll be made to look like fools when he develops into a fine goalkeeper at a different club.

If we had kept Fryers and got Clyne we could have had a defence with

Rafael Ezekiel Nathaniel

So badass.

Why did you even Wiki yourself

I did not. Viva sent me a picture after he'd sodomised it

Looks like you're lucky you escaped a ban Viva. Or did Bish edit your post too as someone claimed?
He edited it.

I'm actually gonna be reading that thread quite a bit. I have a decent understanding of American Football but definitely want to learn more, that thread looks like it'll be useful.

£18m was always a fucking stupid price for him tbh.
Yeah. That summer's spending was just stupid all over. £18m for De GOAT, and £16m on Young and Jones each.

Really spent a lot of money and didn't strengthen the team at all. I was happy we signed Jones and De Gea but we really should have signed a CM.

When I first came to Arsenal years ago [in 2004], I saw things from [Dennis] Bergkamp and Thierry Henry I'd never seen in my life before. Now I'm seeing those things again and that makes me really happy.

If United were signing Coutinho for £8 million, and we were swooping Zaha for £15 million, we'd be rightfully slammed.

Nice touch, too bad he runs like a headless chicken with no idea what to do most of the time. Then again, he's 20.

He's alright, he's alright. Better than Gervinho for sure.
