I'll just wait for the next wave of GTX/HDXXXXs. Just bought a 7950, second rig'll probably be Nvidia to take advantage of the Shield/3D Vision, barring any surprise AMD tech.

How many of these can you put in SLI?
4.
Just buy a GTX 690 for $100 more.

If it was $600 then it would be a good deal.
Eh. Tri and Quad SLI pretty much suck. Two of these will have better performance than two 690s. Compared on a 1v1 basis, being able to rid SLI issues is also awesome. Sucks when the 690 performs worse than the 680 due to crappy profiles.
Still won't be enough against Durango's secret sauce.
You mean consistent frame latency issues thanks to AMD CPU architecture? :p
The savings on the heating bill makes this a no-brainer purchase.
This will be lower TDP than your 580.

Don't know why everyone's screaming about the price. The GTX690 is more expensive, yet this card provides 85% more performance than the previous card and on a single GPU. Besides, this isn't a card for 'casuals'. That price point is VERY enticing.

$900 o_O Are you fucking kidding me? Interest gone. Clearly this being marketed to the folks buying 2 680's for their gaming rigs.

Honestly, though, this makes me wet at the thought of the next wave of flagships. If 85% the performance of the GTX690 can come down to 'reasonable' price levels, aahhhhhh god.

If anyone wants to get rid of their "old and busted" quad-SLI Geforce 680 set up, I'm willing to take it off their hands. :)

I bought my GTX 590 for $700 at release and I can see myself getting at least another year of "everything on maxed" out of it.

I'll be more interested in the GPUs coming out AFTER the next-gen consoles. I would hate to upgrade "too early".

Sad as it is, that's about the price I have spent on each graphics card I've purchased the last ten years.

/waits for radeon 88xx series[$200-250] or possibly 89xx [$300-450]. One of them will be mine when I collect money [probably this summer].

I'd love near-690 performance without worrying about microstuttering, and I'd sooner get one of these than a 690, but that's not something I'd drop $899 for right now. Shame!
