AT guns are counter to everything PE has, PE strength is speed.

that's the common sentiment, but i don't think it's true. see: slow cap speed on infantry, marders, hetzers, all halftracks, etc. they're not particularly quick, as an army.

PE is really about being a high risk / high reward glass cannon. take mp44 blobs for instance: they're liable to chew through any enemy infantry that they're thrown at, but taking a lot of losses (from, say, a good strafe) is absolutely catastrophic in a way that it isn't for the other armies. high cost to reinforce, no zombie army option, long reinforce times

Effin' Yeah! Best outcome. Sega knows how to treat RTS games with respect.

While I agree completely due to their actions in the last decade or so, this statement *still* kinda blows my mind. It's like Nintendo being hailed as the saviour of the point and click adventure.

is strafe still broken? cause i loved it when it was broken

this is so foreign to me. i legitimately get mad at my coh partner if i see him shit out a panther battle group, because i know that's effectively 3 MP44 squads / a hetzer + at halftrack / a hummel / etc. that won't be appearing any time soon. and unvetted PE panthers are so much worse than wehr panthers it's hard to justify the expense, especially with american paradropped AT guns that can fire at targets roughly ten thousand miles away.

that's my big balance complaint at the moment: competently micro'd american AT guns + snipers combo. the ultimate counter to basically everything PE has.

I kind of agree that it's not the best investment they could make, and I often delay my panthers for other units that I need more at the time. If I see AT gun spam and/or 17 pounders all over, I'll pick SE and get dat hummel. Of course, when you're playing a good combined arm strategy that you can feasibly neutralize AT locally in, they are highly effective shock units.

Recently as wehr I've been finding that double vet 3 mortars are completely devastating - dat 50% damage buff.

It's broken when people use it against me, and its balanced when I use it against enemies. Like everything in coh!

They did nerf it in the most recent patch (which was 2 years ago now I think?). If it catches infantry in the open it will shred, but that's acceptable. Much less powerful than it used to be. Back when British secured resourcing shared with allied players, and the strafe hadn't been nerfed, it was fucking OP bullfuckery.

Ofc, I still have fond memories of when gliders would crush enemy units, and my commando gliders effectively came with a devestating airstrike before they popped out as a result. Squishing a whole enemy squad only to have a 6 man commando team hop out straight after was the stuff of legends.

strafe has been changed so it take a lot longer to act, the damage of strafe increases with more men there are in the strafe zone, so the old strat of strafing lone snipers doesn't work in 2.602

...... is the 5% bug still in the game, it's almost CoH signature bug describing everything right and wrong with the game.

it's not nearly as bad as it was, but they still have the dumb critical hit system in (where each hit after a certain health percentage has a chance to do subsystem damage or kill).

sorry, I'm bored :(

I have some info from a banking source, but I'm unsure as to the reliability as they were not listed as one of the creditors. I'll get more info at work tomorrow morning if there's something new. If it is genuine then there are no big shocks.

Would Sega with Relic count as a big shock?

What is the meaning of 'Sale Hearing' which is on 'January 23rd at 9am'? Is that when actual sales start or when we get final results?

Why? Blizzard wouldn't want to integrate with them, and Activision would get Relic to make a Bond game and then shut the studio down.

The only people making Bond games should be Naughty Dog (which won't happen as they're owned by Sony) or Telltale - but Bond ain't about QTE's so that ones less likely than ND :(

Does it still include Sega as top bidder for Relic so far?

Maybe this changed from the posts I saw earlier, but I thought it was questionable if THQ could even auction off South Park? Or at least South Park Studios was trying to use a buy back clause in their contract to stop it?

Well, SPS can approve a sale if they're at the auction.

They just don't want THQ selling it off without their consent on who they sell it to.

Not to me, they are still a traditional games publisher. I mean big shock as in a new entrant from traditional media like News Corporation (which some had speculated on this afternoon) or Comcast/Universal.

I would like to post them, but the guy said that posting the names publicly could breach insider trading rules, and as bankers we would get in trouble.

Hmm, South Park.

Sounds like a good launching point for uPlay exclusives... >_>

I'm joking.

At least I hope I am.

I'm going to have to cancel my amazon order and get it on Steam at full price if they make it uplay :(

South Park deserves a better publisher than those clowns.
