I would prefer "Xbox" or "The Xbox" over "The New Xbox"
'The New' would surely just be for early marketing though, then after it would be simply 'Xbox'.

I don't like it either, but they like taking cues from apple.
Looks like the old Xbox.
Maybe. But the link in the top left corner says "The New Xbox" and brought to a 404 page.
You don't think branding is important?
A lot of people still think Wii U is just an etension of the Wii and don't know it's a new console all together. I would say it's..kind of important.
haven't they learned that adding "New" is stupid?
New Super Mario Bros
New iPad
bleh
MS following Apple. The "New" XBox
Both of those examples have sold like hotcakes. So stupid or not, it makes business sense.
I think it makes a lot of sense. My objection to using the same name for 2 different devices of the same kind is that it makes discussing them confusing for no good reason. Any new name, even "Xbox 720", does not have this problem.I certainly hope that all of you who don't like them using "Xbox" don't consider "Xbox 720" to be better.
Because that's just plain nonsensical.
Microsoft won't be as inept with their marketing that people won't understand this is a new, better console. If they market it as the new Xbox, and it's simply called Xbox officially, that's fine.
sweet!Media Box confirmed.
But the thing is that it's on the Xbox site, not the general Microsoft site.Feel like it's nothing about a new console, but more with phones and such. We'll see though.
Did it earn anybody extra sales, or did it sell in spite of the name? I don't believe just calling it "The New..." confers any sales benefits at all. Both of those examples have sold like hotcakes. So stupid or not, it makes business sense.
This sounds just like this then. The current slim chassis is perfect for this and it fits with the front page ad.
There's just a slim there. Could be a new dash or something, but nothing huge.
What is the URL? It should be in your history! Check it! URL will give away a lot of information. DON'T LET US DOWN!
I can use web developer tools too.
Also, they'd want the old Xbox 360 on the menu still too right, not just replace Xbox + Kinect with the new one.

OK that Ron Paul GIF is starting to really get played out.
"Here's the Xbox Entertainment System! Now here's the NEW Xbox!"Xbox will be he name of the roku type device.
They will call the real console xbox something for sure.
My call.

You calling OP out?
You edited your link from new-xbox to 'xbox'. WHY
Was the original link taken down?Did some digging on the site and the entertainment section has the same "new experience" line so maybe no reason to go ape-shit.
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/entertainment
Console reveal first, name reveal at E Triple. They're not going to just call it Xbox. See: WiiU.
$599? It's going to sell like hotcakes.ZOMG! It's real you guise:
Sure why not. Show me the receipts.
My font is on because I'm on a Mac, if you really want I could do it from Windows too.
GDC 2013 announcement? Or E3...?

I was pasting links to try different combinations and accidentally linked that one. It was definitely not new-xbox.
