The rest of our game announcements are pretty straight-forward, but if anyone has any specific questions, feel free to ask. I might not be able to answer, of course... but hey, I can try!

I have to admit, after the PSP game I would prefer full screen if doable, even if it had to be "to get Complete borders play in 4:3, but if you play 16:9 you stick with PSP statistics."
Is there going to.be a super rare, limited edition ys celdeta collectors edition vita? Because I would.buy it.white with gold trim... Get at me bro, give me something to hold onto.
That's... pretty much how it's going to work, more or less. Unlike the 3D Ys games, Chronicles (and Complete before it) comes in a set resolution, since it's all 2D pixel art... and that resolution is 640x480 (including borders), if I'm not mistaken. Which is tiny, but is a resolution pretty much every monitor in existence supports, so you can play full-screen just fine without having to stretch or zoom anything at all.
If you play windowed, however, you CAN resize, and Sara did a great job implementing it so that said resizing doesn't make the screen go all blurry or anything -- it's actually really smooth and gorgeous. I have no idea how she did it.
Obviously can't answer this right now, but we know how much you guys like your LEs (especially Ys fans!), so we'll certainly look into our options. No promises, but since we all would love to OWN an XSEED LE for this game ourselves, we're of course going to selfishly suggest the most extravagant bonus goodies possible, and maybe try depriving Ken of oxygen bit by bit until he concedes to one or two or seven or twelve of them.
Fingers crossed that we're successful (and that Ken survives!).

Will we see more 3DS retail announcements soon enough? As I noted above a lot of games aren't in your usual alley, but maybe you'll surprise us with some unexpected games?
And will XSEED stay committed to Rune Factory going forward, or is this yet another "one time" thing?

Awesome! Will pre-order as soon as I can <3http://store.steampowered.com/app/223810/
Ys I & II Chronicles+ pre-order up on Steam. Will also import Ys Celceta even though I probably won't buy a Vita anytime soon.
This is actually what I was wondering about. I knew Complete was 4:3, but Chronicles (PSP) was 16:9* and I didn't know if that made it in the back-port to PC or not.
*considering how picky I am about this stuff PSP is actually NOT technically 16:9 but it's close enough.
Oh, and one last RO thing.
I remember seeing a Facebook post I believe that the DLC for RO was going to go up possibly late Jan, early Feb.
Still on?
Yeah, can't really answer questions regarding future titles that aren't announced yet, so all I can really do is generically address your questions by saying:
- We like the 3DS, and would love to continue supporting it.
- We like the Rune Factory series, and would love to continue working on it.
Sorry I can't be more specific!
-Tom
Well, remember, Complete was 4:3, but that includes the border. The actual viewport for the game INSIDE that border was pretty close to 16:9. And if you play in a widescreen resolution in Chronicles+, that's what you see (well, that or the bordered version streeeetched, but who wants to do that?).
Right?
Full screen on my TV will be what I try first. Don't know if I've ever mentioned it before but I love the look of these games, so if that's too detrimental then to windowed mode I'll go. On my monitor.
We should be able to play Ys I and II in 1280x960, which would be simply making each pixel 4 times as big for no loss in quality, right?
I've got a question that's not related to today's announcements, but since y'all are here I figure I might as well ask it anyway. In that recent interview with Digital Trends, Ken said that RGC was 3x as expensive to license as a typical DS game -was wondering, if RGC had only cost as much as any other DS game to license, would its sales have been considered good enough to justify localizing RGC2? I know that ship has long since sailed so I'm not trying to salt old wounds (sorry!), just curious on that point. The rest of our game announcements are pretty straight-forward, but if anyone has any specific questions, feel free to ask. Hmm, 27%~ higher price for Europe, was much closer to equal in the last two releases.

So, does this mean Natsume had no intention of localizing RFIV? Will you bee offering an eShop version of the game? What about a demo?
Might it have been before or after I asked on Facebook and got the 'back scratcher' response? (That you guys decided to localize)I think it just means we beat them to the punch?
Game's pretty big, so I don't know if it'll fit on the eshop. We'll do it if we can, though, I'm sure.
And I don't think it has a demo, so probably no on that front. If you've enjoyed previous Rune Factory games, though, then chances are you'll enjoy Rune Factory 4 -- it's pretty much the biggest, most complex and most charming Rune Factory yet.

Ys Celceta being confirmed is awesome! Vita may still be struggling, but Xseed is saving it for me.
But no Dragon's Crown?

I'll buy everything Xseed releases on PC
Today is my birthday. Can I have an early key for Ys I & II on Steam? The rest of our game announcements are pretty straight-forward, but if anyone has any specific questions, feel free to ask. I might not be able to answer, of course... but hey, I can try!
I'm glad we're finally seeing 3DS retail games from XSEED.
However, I guess there weren't really any released games from smaller folks that would warrant a retail localization, Unchained went to eShop in NA.
X Zone and BD would (and are for X Zone) be brought by their western divisions.
I mean off hand the other games that come to mind but wouldn't suit XSEED would be:
Class of Heroes 3D (I would see Atlus or NISA if anyone)
Virus Shooter XX (wicked niche, looked like an eShop game before the service existed, UFO would suit it)
Zoo Keeper 3D (Ignition if they still did retail games, would work for eShop)
Azito 3D (looks kinda poor, novelty at most, UFO or Agetec would suit it)
Senran Kagura (this actually has a shot... buuuuuuuut.......)
Beyond the Labyrinth (got poor reception didn't it? Maybe Aksys would take a chance?)
Runabout 3D (was said to be coming as Crash City Mayhem by Majesco, but nada)
Metabots 7 (Natsume's court)
Any Level 5 game (That's in L5 America's court)
Taiko (not a fitting genre, I think Namco would bring it themselves if ANYONE)
Puyo Puyo (same, Atlus did bring over Fever DS, so Sega might allow someone)
Kokuga (this actually fits with Rising Star as they're doing G-Rev games)
EX Troopers (even Capcom admitted why this is in fact impossible, it's the hard coded text)
Culdcept would actually fit really well as part of the TLS and PT deal, but maybe Nintendo will actually do this eventually? Calciobit I don't see it in NA, but yes in EU, soccer is HUGE there after all.
Rising Star Games is a newcomer in NA and they seem to be doing everything, from smaller, maybe not really great games to really good niche games, so anything seems to fit with them.
So yeah, I guess this is why XSEED's been slow to the 3DS party, the other good ones like Code of Princess were snatched by Atlus.
I see KAIO: King of Pirates and Dragon Marked for Death with XSEED perfectly.
By the way, I'm the only one who thinks Ys Celceta will sell much better than previous installments thanks to no piracy and the low number of Vita games?
Probably, yeah. That and because the introduction of Ys to people who own PCs.
