Surprising since Thom went straight from TKOL recording, to touring, to the Atoms For Peace project straight back into more Radiohead work?

can I just have a studio version of identikit so I can die happy please.

I liked TKOL so I'm up for whatever this turns out to be.

Awesome. I'm so happy they're still putting out albums more than 20 years after their first. TKOL isn't exactly the kind of thing that made me fall in love with Radiohead in the first place but the last 3-4 tracks are absolutely ace.

TKOL was ok.....bloom was freaking amazing. I just hope they go back to what they did with In Rainbows, I liked that style.

Also, can we PLEASE go back to Full-length albums and not just 8 tracks? I hated the fact that they cut so much material from TKOL sessions.

I really love the back end of The King of Limbs, but In Rainbows is simply godly so I hope they manage to return to that level of quality.

TKOL was just OK.

I really want to hear the Atoms for Peace album, not sure if it's out yet or not. I saw them both nights in Chicago in 2010. (flipping awesome).

One of my favorite songs is Thom's - All for the best. I know it's not a Radiohead song.. but shit I love that song.

I think TKOL would have been pretty great if they had put all the extra tracks that came out shortly after on it. My problem is that when I really feel I'm getting into TKOL it ends.

Fuck the haters, TKOL's first half is better than anything on that borefest In Rainbows. Bloom is their best song since There There.

I hope they return to their Kid A level of quality.

It's nice to want things

I'd give my left nut for this to happen

That's not even a Yorke song, it's a cover.

Really? I could have sworn that Jonny used his guitar plenty on TKOL, but it was just more subtle so people didn't realize.

Doesn't seem too out of the ordinary. He went straight from The Eraser to In Rainbows to touring for both albums to TKOL. Also, I think AMOK was recorded a couple years ago, and Thom and Nigel have just been mixing it on and off since then.

TKOL is amazing live. Seriously, Lotus Flower literally blew most of their other songs out of the water when I saw them.

I am excited, and I really like King of Limbs for what it's worth. Had a great vibe to it, and could just lay in bed listening to it with the stereo on!

King of Limbs, especially Morning Mr. Magpie is a better live than on the album. Part of me wishes they would have just recorded that album live and released it like that.

YES! Ecstatic to hear this.

I liked King of Limbs, but it's far far down my favorite Radiohead albums list (second only to Pablo - only like Creep, but that's it - Kid A > In Rainbows > OK Computer > Hail to the Thief > The Bends > Amnesiac > King of Limbs > Pablo Honey).

If it's anything like Kid A or In Rainbows, I'll shit the bed (not literally). Can't fucking wait!

I certainly wasn't expecting anything for at least another two years or so, so this is great to hear. Maybe the new My Bloody Valentine album will be out by then.

Yeah, right.

CARIBOU: IÂ’m terrible at sitting still; I always want to move onto the next thing. How good are you at doing nothing?

Thom Yorke: I’m fucking useless. When we got back from tour I gave myself a week off from the studio and that was it. That’s me maxing out on time off. I was cheating anyway because I was actually working on my laptop on the quiet. I’m addicted to having a breakthrough on something, I’m just looking for that all the time, whether that’s a sound or a onebar phrase you find in the middle of something that makes you go, ‘Yeah! That’s it!’ I go through phases of doing different types of stuff. At the moment I’ve got all these nice little boxes for my studio, and I kind of half know how to use most of them but really I just enjoy writing words sitting at a piano. I tend to lose interest in the drum machine, but doing that is quite a novelty at the moment.

after their last album, no thanks

i understand your sentiment, but i'm cautiously optimistic that i'll like their new material. the codex was a brilliant song, so it's not like they're totally shitty yet.

still, i hope they drop the beeps and bloops of a computer and do something reminiscent of ok computer
they won't :(

Well that's a band that i'll always give a listen when a new album comes out.
There is bound to be at least one great piece of music on it.

So true...
I've always thought TKOL was a good album, but if songs like Daily Mail, Staircase, and possibly even the Butcher and Supercollider were included it could have been great.

YEAHHHHHH

Hoping for more songs like Codex. Easily my favourite output of theirs in recent times.
