Nintendo 3DS Direct 2013.2.14 - [Over: Waluigi Time]

A new Mario Golf game is all I have wanted since the GC one. That is now my most anticipated game of 2013. I don't even care if it doesn't have RPG elements like the other handheld ones, I loved the N64 and GC ones just fine.

Sony better step it up on the 20th or this will have taken a tonne of their heat away.

I asked earlier but I think it got lost in the craziness but:
I have a unregistered 3DS XL that I was saving for later to get the extra coins. I'm already an elite with Club Nintendo for this year so would adding another item now count towards become elite for next year or will those coins effectively be lost?
I didn't see anything there to make me want a WiiU, at least as a gamer that isn't in love with Nintendo franchises. Just more entries in old franchises that do nothing for me.

Wow, this was probably the worst of the full Nintendo Directs.

Huge focus on eShops and DLC, port as the big announcement, promised third party support was mostly all ports or already known. Plus more Mario spinoffs. Give it a break... I mean I like them and I'll probably play them, but it's getting excessive. I thought it would be less rampant once the 3DS was established, but no. It's always Mario or a spin off. 3D Land, Paper, Tennis, NSMB2, Luigi's Mansion, now Golf and M&L.

Props to Luigi's Mansion multiplayer, Animal Crossing release date, and the new Mario and Luigi though. Not a great ND for my tastes, but a few things I enjoyed.

I don't understand the positive reactions to this ND. Ports & Mario spinoffs.

At this point the remaining diehard Nintendo fans left have come to accept a lifetime of endless Mario whoring; Nintendo has no true shame in this regard.

The Wii U section is disgusting. Where the fuck are the first party games??

not to defend Nintendo or anything for the embarrassing wasteland of Wii U support, but didn't they just have a Nintendo Direct a few weeks ago wherein they revealed a deluge of Wii U titles coming in the pipeline? (it's just, unfortunately for them, not soon enough; but we all knew that couldn't change in a few weeks, right?)

Donkey Kong Country Returns was a mediocre platformer and everything else announced was rehash or bleaugh. Glad the hardcore fanbase is excited, but I'm sad.

They absolutely stacked the 3DS this year.

Animal Crossing
Luigi's Mansion
A new Mario fucking Golf
Mario & Luigi
Harmoknight
Mario & DK
DKR 3D for people who want it
Harvest Moon

Even Kersploosh had an interesting concept, even if the name is horrible.

I really hope a couple things are shown for Wii U at E3 and they're holding back, because they announced more 3DS games in this Direct alone then I plan on buying all year for Wii U so far.

They've literally covered the entire span of time from now until E3 (two days after Animal Crossing comes out.)

NoE came through. Thanks Shibata <3
Fire Emblem, Etrian Odyssey, Animal Crossing, Code of Princess, Luigi's Mansion all confirmed. March' 3DS release schedule is making my wallet cry.

Another fine Nintendo Direct. Really gave the sense that the 3DS is about to start firing on all cylinders (well, at least in terms of first party support).

Guess I'm buying Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and MH3: U. Nothing new was announced that appeals to me.

But do you know what would be nice? The Animal Crossing 3DS XL to play these games on. I swear I'll be so pissed if NoA doesn't bring it over. NoE even has more bundles and colors for fucks sake.

No Bravery or DQVII announcement :(

Supremely disappointed. They're doing so well in the East, how could they not even mention them?

Because Nintendo doesn't own Square Enix ?

People asking for BD and/or DQVII should ask SE, not Nintendo.

Mario and Luigi is awesome though! Even if I hated core Mario I'd still be hyped for that one.

Mario Golf, eh whatever. The last Tennis game didn't sound too hot so I'm cautious.

These are good games, but why are people freaking out? We've known about all these games for a while now. I don't know what this ND accomplished.

That said, 3DS lineup is still looking awesome.

Looks like Wii U is at least getting some releases in March, both retail and eShop. Need for Speed, Lego City and Monster Hunter plus Toki Tori? Ow, my wallet.

3DS is hitting heavy too. With all these games plus more reveals at E3, I have to think Nintendoomed is bit overwrought. They should have a solid 2013.

True.

I like Mario Golf and the rpg series a lot but its expected.
Was hoping for more fresh and new content.

Nice to see a bunch of good stuff for the 3DS.

I'm not sure why anyone expected WiiU announcements.

The fact that the European and Japanese Nintendo Direct previews mentioned it was 3DS only should have been a clear sign that the US one would have little of note in that regard.

Nothing unexpected for Wii U. But I mean, what do people expect. I don't think Wii U will get amazing 3rd Party, but my guess is they are waiting for Nintendo to build a healthy userbase. Nothing that has not happened before with a new system. Give it time people!!

Amazing 3DS Direct, I have to steal my 6yold 3DS now.

I kinda feel bad for people who gave up on handheld gaming and "moved on" to iOS/Android only gaming.

Also It is sad that in the west making games for handhelds is some sort of taboo

I mean I'm excited for Mario & Luigi 3DS too, and some other Mario games here and there. It's just I'm a consumer whore, is all, but I'd anticipate them while at the same time expressing my disdain for their endless lack of creativity and boldness when it comes to creating new IPs and genuine new worlds and characters.

So all Mario games are the same?

Yes. It only makes sense. Mario Golf is the same as Luigi's Mansion is the same as...

Unless you have a hatred of his face or style, then it shouldn't matter that much. They need games and games like this to sell.

That NSMBU DLC looks great. Will buy. Probably NFS and MH. Nice effort. Good jerb.

But don't they? Dillions and a few other games? Yes they milk their series but are you suggesting the majority of their games should be new IP? 30%? The majority of the industry disagrees.

I've been fairly underwhelmed by the 3DS in general other than a few games but a new Mario Golf makes my owning of the system worth it.

I can't wait and I know I will end up with Animal Crossing as well and Project X.
