For Japan, an additional 3DS Nintendo Direct for third-parties is set for next week.

Someone has to edit this image to "Can't handle all of these ND"

Did you even watch the Direct? Plenty of new games we had no idea about being announced.

I apologize. There were a few new announcements, but are they really that mind blowing?

All which were known to either be in development or obvious. New MandL RPG, while awesome, was obvious. So soon? Maybe not. New Mario Golf, awesome. Loved the Camelot ones. DKR3D? I guess. That's not really exciting to me. Solid, but not exciting.

Is that it? I mean for new announcements. The only surprise was Mario Golf, the good ones, coming back. And that's cool. But people spouting its the best ever? Meh. These are all old franchises with twists or old franchises being revisited. I love, love, love Mario Golf, but that's not enough to get me excited.

If there's anything truly mindblowing that I missed, please correct me. I'm not being an ass, I'm on my phone so I may have missed something huge.

Donkey Kong Country Returns was a mediocre platformer and everything else announced was rehash or bleaugh. Glad the hardcore fanbase is excited, but I'm sad.
Definitely not mediocre. You work at gamespot or something?
Fun Fact: All the Mario games shown were different genres.

There is an argument for not using a new franchise yet it's hard to have that argument in this climate. Almost every major publisher agrees: use your franchises over and over as people are familiar and will more likely buy. I heard good things about Dillion but I'm not interested enough to focus on it, as it's unknown. I'm just less likely to buy when it doesn't have Mario in it. Great franchises bring you back. Just this week, we saw a game hyped up for awhile that seems like a disaster (aliens). Whereas, people are genuinely upset about Rocksteady not being apart of the new Batman.

I guess the argument against milking is the lack of creativity. Yet, that is rampant in this industry. I'll probably buy Need For Speed because I had a good time the last time I played it (1998). And I may pick up Monster Hunter because it has had good reviews over 3-4 games.

That zombiu bundle for more than $350 made me lol. System not selling? Of course you raise the price!

The cross-compatibility for Monster Hunter is just that people from 3ds and wiiu can play together, NOT that you can take a save from one to the other like vita/ps3 crossplay, right?

Maybe not a release date. But just a confirmation that the game will release one day in Europe. It's all I asked.
Yeah, not necessarily a release date, but SOMETHING. If Nintendo can manage to release Pokemon X and Y worldwide this October, then Square can at least manage to translate ONE of their big RPGs for the 3DS a year after its Japan release. Hell, we're getting 3 Atlus games this year, how can SE not manage this?

Walruses, camels, bears, rabbits, tigers and badgers.
It seems some of you don't remember how bad the first 6 months for the 3DS was when it comes to software. That draught was argurably worse then the current one we are experiencing with WiiU. We are finishing up year two for the 3DS, of course the first party support is going to be booming.

It mentioned that you could move data from the 3DS to the Wii U.

What were the free games available if we register a 3DS XL and Luigis Mansion or Pokemon Dungeon? The screen flashed by too quickly, and I can't seem to remember when in the direct it happened.

Can someone summarise the different announcements each region got? Watched the EU one, but what's this about Dillion 2?

So are we or are we not getting a Waluigi video game for 3DS GAF? Cuz that would make this the best Direct ever.

Actually its the opposite - they never specified if the 3DS and Wii U versions can online play together (I've heard that the 3DS version doesn't have online play but I'm not sure how true that is), but they DID specify that you can copy your save across from your Wii U, carry on playing when you pop out to the shops on your 3DS, then when you get back you can continue on your Wii U at home. Pretty neat.

not 100% sure but I think they were starfox 3d, mario 3d land, professor layton, style savvy, and art academy.

EO4 for Europe... YES! THANK YOU LORD!!!!! It's a pretty damn good 1st half of the year for the 3DS, I picked just the right time to jump in.

Also, week long £20 eShop Zelda: OOT deal? Dammit Nintendo, I need more money! :(

But they're all the same content. They're all the same game.

Mario Golf! Mario DLC! Mario and Luigi! Mario's brother, Luigi's Mansion 2. Don't you see?

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch

Savegames can be shared between the two versions

Limited Edition 3DSXL Fire Emblem Bundle for Europe - sometimes waiting a bit longer is worth it:

fuck europe man

Though to be fair, it just looks like the same old blue XL with a logo emblazoned on top. The colour of the JP/NA Fire Emblem 3DS was much prettier. So I guess I ain't mad.

Why would you assume that? Nintendo is constantly having Directs all the time.

Because we have a Nintendo Direct last month (they could have make the ds announcements in that event) and Sony press will be next week.

It's a form of distract the japanese consumers attention from Ps4 i think.

On the EU ND they confirmed both.
