Right. Still would surprise me as well, but people need a different argument than the "standard webcode" thing, because obviously, if it were standard webcode, why is the 3DS missing? So that argument is moot. But that doesn't mean it is coming, imo.

John Harker has strong ties with/works for Ubisoft. His record is sound. I specifically recall him hinting at Rabbids Go Home months before it was even announced by saying something like, "pesky rabbids! Why won't they just go Home?"

I find this hilarious, and a little offensive. So you're saying either Nintendo treats consumers like crap and/or the dev/pubs like crap. And that's on top of some pie-in-the-sky stuff

Either way, if Destiny is an MMO, the WU would be a very interesting choice indeed. The pad is probably the best for MMOs. The return of hotkeys!

And yeah, its a little grating that the possibility of the Wii U getting a third party game that'll likely be whored out to all other competing platforms is such large megaton news.

I dont know exactly who they are, but i think that Ideaman has some info regarding Ubisoft (i have no idea if he works there himself or if he knows someone there who tells him some information). John Harker has access to NPD numbers i know, and i've seen him make some other comments regarding game developement. Its not an official confirmation, but if both those guys says it, i think it is a high chance that it is true.

True :) After seeing all the hints and signs, i would guess that Ubisoft will make a WiiU version. They seem to take more chances, which i like, and Watch_Dogs might be a good fit for the WiiU controller.

NFS was announced after the WiiU was released iirc, and the game "could have" shipped before that. Not sure if you find my post offensive or Nintendo's tactics.

edit: btw I find it pretty funny that they've misspelled Vita as psvista in the reusable code for platform listings.

As a current Bungie fan and a former Nintendo fan, I would like to see it come to the Wii U. There are so many die-hard Nintendo fans that have ignored Bungie, and I just want them to experience their games because I feel they share some of the essential qualities that make Nintendo games great and they will love them.

Bungie has said that the ability to scale was a priority in the design of Destiny. They really are trying to reach a wide audience, and along with Activision's track record, despite the recent reports, I would say an eventual Wii U release is not out of the question.

Before Activition do it with BLOB 2 on Wii U and make special direct with game announcement .

I think it will be same here for Destiny also special Direct with Mr.Reggi.

Ah, unfortunately it doesn't matter to me if it does make it to Wii U. Ninty had that window, if they had got Dead Sapce 3, Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite, TR, all the big third party titles right now, I'd have got them ALL for Wii U for the off pad play, I love that function and would take it in any circumstance when the other platforms are just the same.

That said, if Destiny comes to Wii U, off pad Play will not trump next gen consoles for me, and assuming the "future technologies" editions get a bump in graphics, I'd take nicer looking games over pad play. If Destiny was 360/ps3 only, sure, I'd take a Wii U version over them, but the window where 3rd party equals to the Wii U is passing quickly and they haven't got many of them over while that is a selling point.

Looking through the code, it's definitely looks like it's just copied from the Black Ops 2 webpage, since the main container's CSS class is "parbase bo2-preorder section" while child elements also contain "atvi-preorder" and "destiny-preorder".

As much as I'd like Destiny to find it's way over the WiiU, this doesn't that it's happening.

Actually, there's an interesting corollary to this I noticed; no 3DS? I'd expect that to be included in any generic list of systems, particularly given the DS had multiple CoDs.

Not that I'm trying to present this as a reason that this means Destiny's coming to Wii U! More that I'm wondering if that means that Activision aren't really interested in giving even a cursory attention to the 3DS any more. It's got Skylanders, I'm not sure what else it has from Acti.

That lists all the platforms that BO2 has come out on (edit: with the exception of ps4/720 of course, see below), so you'd assume that the Destiny one does too.

edit: I should clarify, this suggests heavily its coming out on 720/PS4 because that same code was copied over and had WiiU and Vita removed. If it wasn't being released on the PS4 and 720, you'd assume they'd remove those lines too.

With something like this, it's more than likely that some web developer whipped this code together for the Black Ops 2 website while being under time pressure. This shouldn't be any indication on Activision's future platform strategy.

At this point, Destiny probably isn't being developed for Wii U (otherwise they would have announced it at the same time as the 360/PS3 version). But things may change, this game is more than one year out. At the same time, I don't think many enthusiasts will care about whether this game is coming to Wii U or not when next gen arrives.

I've never really bought the whole "Nintendo holds back pubs from announcing Wi U sku of multiplat games". Especially now that the thing is selling abysmally worldwide.

I would have to see Wii U and PS4720 to see if I am sold on the visual differences. Off pad play is the biggest feature, as well as the convenience of having some controls/info on the pad.

I will get a PS4 but don't really know when, I don't think I will get it at launch, depends on the price.

I will get Destiny on the Wii U if it comes.

This is the point where someone will point out Black Ops 2 being announced months after the PS360 versions, or some other example. Still don't buy it. The console wasn't released back then, Nintendo were keeping a lo of info under wraps. It's been on the market for almost 3 months now, they need game announcements.

What hold do Nintendo have on Take 2 to stop them from announcing GTA V? Not buying it.

i'd agree, but that's not actually the same javascript, one is raising an event, the other is just submitting some data.

probably the javascript BO2 at the end of the day is actually accomplishing the same task, but is not the same code, so they didn't actually copy and paste one code and deleted a couple of lines

Oh yea, I mean, my post obviously is made with an assumption that when we talk about a *720/ps4* version, that it would look and perhaps play significantly better. If that wasn't the case, off pad ftw. This point though stands for me at least if there are technological difference and certainly going forward with other games, that is going to apply more and more. This year really was a prime time for them to cash in on buying your third party games on Wii U for that feature, and they didn't make it happen.

As far as separate things on the gamepad like extra controls, that's handy but let's face it, the game won't be made with that stuff in mind, those extras could only be so helpful, just like Darksiders or whatever. The off pad play or unique multiplayer experiences are the two big draws for me with the pad. I appreciate though, if that stuff is important to you, or you reckon you'll only have the Wii U when it launches, you'd like to see the game on Wii U.

Just don't hold your breath, Nintendo don't seem bothered in going any extra miles to secure games, and this game has been in dev for a long time without Wii U in consideration, it like won't happen until the 2nd installment imo, and even at that, only if they keep on doing 360/ps3 version, since that's the port that'd come over probs.

Obviously I'll be happy to be wrong on any of those, it'd be great if it went to as many platforms as pos.

Yes it was debunked but people are still open to the possibilities and as things change in the future (wii u sells).

This game is interesting as I think there is a slight chance still because:

Other comments as to the reach the game wants to achieve made by Bungie
Activision is the publisher, it has supported major game releases on Nintendo like CoD

Note: I own Wii U and PS3 and will get PS4 eventually. Still I would love to see the game on the Wii U.

In regards to the 3rd party window Nintendo had to secure best version, yes I think they really blew it. Would love to be surprised though, but seems this is not likely.

It's Activision, if they could, they would put the game on coin operated laundry and free toasters. But from what was posted, it looks like it was debunked. Who knows, though, perhaps much like Alien Colonel Marines, the definitive version of the game will be on WiiU.

It launching in 2014 pretty much guaranteed it will be hitting next gen, if not next gen exclusive.

May already be mentioned in the thread but Bungie is targeting some type of Destiny interaction on everything from toasters to iPhones.
