Does anybody here regularly play Big Team Battle in Halo 4?

If so, need your help/input quickly.

Certain Affinity's name is on the box for Halo 4, right? If not, it better be. They made a huge amount of the game.

What do you want me to say? Any the potential the maps had disappeared once Certain Affinity attached their name to it.

Seriously? The maps look solid. Smaller spaces as requested, nice aesthetic, etc. Just funny that you'd throw them away based on a developer name.

Yeah, I do, because they have. The base game has a handful of solid maps. Maybe you're just not into that style of map, and are looking for more Halo 2 style, but that doesn't make every CA map bad.

It says what CA did. It doesn't say what 343 did aside from request changes. It really sounds like 343 didn't do much.

Honest question: Why doesn't MS just try to buy Certain Affinity instead of outsourcing? Or do they already own them?

Just incorporate them into 343.

When you drop the ball, is your time reverted back to 0 since you last picked up the ball? When you step out of the hill your time isn't reverted back to what it was before you entered the hill, is it? And yes. There are some bad hill placements in the game. That's why we should get rid of those hill placements. I don't know what Lookout is, but I'm assuming you mean Lockout.

Go through my posts again. Tell me where I mention that I want a "cute kd" for objective players. Then tell me where I want the ability for the objective player to at least be able to defend themselves without losing all progress on the objective.

Here are my points from one of my previous posts on the matter, reorganized for a bit of clarity:
-Extraction would be leagues better if it had sticky arming, but it doesn't.
-It would be better if it had a visible zone, but it doesn't.
-It would be so much better if the player didn't have to hold a button for an eternity(one reason why Dominion is bad).
-It would be better if the player could move their model while extracting.
-It would be better if the plant points were in better positions.

The first 4 are of the gametype itself. The last one is about the maps it's placed on. If it doesn't work very well on any map, it probably shouldn't be in matchmaking(I say shouldn't because I know that they are going to put it in regardless).

In KotH and Oddball it doesnt because is time based objective, but it doesnt take away the fact that in one of them you cant shoot back, the other you are exposed to incoming nades, just like extraction, and as the objective player is your choice of either drop the objective to fight back, or complete those last 2 second left to arm.

Btw I wasnt impliying that you wanted a cute KD, i was saying tha as the player with the objective you are the one that going to die the most.

We are going to be repliying on the same thing back and forth, you just dont see extraction as I do, which for me is the best objective type in Halo 4, Haven extraction has been in gamebattles for months now and I can tell you are the first person i have come across that doesnt like it.

I still insist you really havent give a good chance to the gametype, because those negative you see on it doesnt let you appreciate it, ohhh well to each its own.

Whenever you like to.play with me, sent me an invite, maybe i can convince you with actions and not words.

So I watched it again and re-read and what? What did 343 do besides play test? Any competent person that has play tested community maps and settings before could do this. What does 343 do? We're almost 5 months into this game with an extremely long list of things wrong with it and have only been getting tiny small improvements in matchmaking in the past few weeks, and will be receiving a meager title update. They've managed to alienate every community, the population is failing with each passing day and cant seem to manage to lift a finger.

I had to run over it two more times before it would register the cap.

That weapon is obnoxious no matter how it spawns. No descope, laser sight disappears with camo, but especially because it gives incredibly easy one hit kills. You could put a weapon in a static location and limited ammo that blew up half the map and killed everyone on that side when you used it, that doesn't make it fun to fight against.

Maps looks pretty good from what I can see of those hype vids....

Pretty aesthetics in the skyboxes, kind of bland on the ground level, but they looked pretty cool layout wise. Nice it not a bunch of rocks again though.

Monolith has my attention. Can't wait for the next try and play promo!

Excellent. Throwdown is the only thing I can play now that I've seen a no-JIP, no-guest world, so seeing the little things getting fixed is great. Going back to the other playlists and getting all of the normal nonsense immediately was a nightmare.

eh I see it more of a way to name the chapters of the story. like "Mission One: Rally Point Bravo"

the reticule looks like the AR's from reach. Probably just a placeholder but maybe no ADS....?

Hooray for asymmetrical maps with symmetrical gametypes.

I'm hoping they'll be slightly more balanced than anything we got at launch, more akin to Condemned than to Abandon, y'know? It was forgettable and kinda large, but it played well with symmetrical gametypes despite being asymmetrical from my experiences with it.

Monolith likes like absolute bliss, though. That should be fun.

There also looked like some Jetpack heavy maps in there and I'm not liking that at all.

Yes I encountered the same problem with the flag, at first I thought my teammate were too dumb to capture it, but after I did it myself I had the same problem. Felt really weird.

No, but it makes it fun as hell to use lol... and it makes it your fault when you don't get it... rather than it being decided by percent chance.
 
Really like that they actually made an behind the scenes video for map pack video while also promoting it. Also, Bravo is associate producer? He making moves!
Associate Producer has probably always been his title. Large companies like MS have a lot of generic job titles that are associated with specific levels in the company and don't necessarily directly state what their actual job is.
Halo 5: The Search for Cortana, even though she is definitely dead, but we're going to assume she is not because we don't want her to be, and it will probably be a decision that pays off because apparently no one really dies in the Halo franchise, even when they are dead like the Librarian, they show up and interact with characters just like they are alive, but they are "dead". Something something scifi.

New maps looks nice, I have the season pass so obviously I'll check them out. If they are not regular in playlists though, they again become a waste of DLC.

I was expecting skyline to have a much bigger view of the skyline. Most of the map appears to be indoors with a small view of the city on one side in the middle. The art and colors of the maps are starting to blend. The lighting or somthing makes every thing look bland and the color gamma needs to be cranked up this is not cod.

I wouldn't even agree with the "not fun to fight against" mentality. Personally, I find it fun to avoid that red laser lol.. makes it intense B]

How is fighting against a Rocket, Boltshot, etc. any more fun than someone using a Binary Rifle?


Beacon grenade: ProVis done right.

I've been saying it for a long time now but Halo seriously needs to start getting some ideas from the Gears franchise.. Those Beacon grenades are LEGIT. This game is looking like the Unreal Tournament of cover-based shooters.
 
Any idea how many Sticky grenades it takes to destroy a Mantis & Scorpion tank? I would check but little busy at the moment.

I would assume Mantis is 5. For reference, using Grenadier + Explosives + Plasma Pistol: if you EMP the Mantis, it only takes three plasmas unshielded - exactly the number you spawn with.

I had that issue multiple times last night as well. It's especially annoying on close games where your running to the stand with someone hot on your heels.

That's awesome. The best things about huge games being hyped up is the evidence gather from trailers frame by frame when we know little about it. Great analysis.
