cool map, a bit small maybe. as long as you can sail freely, I'm ok with this, not something I've imagined AC games do though, but I always wanted to play something like this.

Some info here:

Google translation:

Action Assassin's Creed 4 unfold in Russia

Ubisoft has shared preliminary information on the game Assassin's Creed 4. Its output is scheduled for March 24, 2014. Tomorrow will be a special event which will be announced the next part of the series. Will add a new hero, and the events themselves unfold in the new era.

Assassin's Creed will boast four new co-op mode. It is likely that the main field for the game will be Russia. On the advertising image incidentally placed Russian assassin Nikolai A. Orlov.

Players 4 Assassin's Creed will be able to enjoy the sights of the old Russian landscapes and cities. It is curious how well Ubisoft treat interpretation of historical facts.

BS?.

Black Flag is not IV, and IV will be announced next year?, I'm not sure if I understand it right.

I really can't get excited about a new Assassin's Creed game.

Same, what is this Assassins Creed 7? I've beaten all of the previous console games, but I'm just not sure about this one. AC3 was decent, but it was a bit long. With next gen around the corner I don't think this will be a day 1 for me, other titles have me more interested for next gen at the moment.

March 2014? But that's a month outside of Ubi's FY2013.

Edit: Oh, I see, it's just a rumour pertaining to a seemingly different AssCreed 4.

Well, this now stinks of "planned leak".

Anywho, using the "IV" moniker is a huge mistake. I understand using it for a character switch, but it's devaluing the franchise.

It would be cool if it really was all open world with no load times between islands, cities and water..but I suppose thats not gonna happen.

And it doesn't change the fact that the core gameplay is getting stale.

So there's an event today (Wednesday) where all this will be revealed? What time?

Also, would be great if Black Flags was an AC3 spinoff, not AC4 -- and that AC4 is the Russian revolution (or some other period) one. Would be consistent with what they've done so far with the numbering (though, one could argue that the numbering was based on main character, not period, but I like the period reason more).

hopefully the main character is all a ruse

the player instead is now a pirate ship and the ship system will be the main focus because everyone loved it

PIRATES!!

Fuck yeah. Am I one of the few who still gets excited about a Creed game?

Yeah there were issues with Creed III, but on a whole I enjoyed it. Then again I played it on the PC so missed out on the console performance issues and initial bugs.

Nah, I still get excited for them, but I can't be completely interested anymore until they decide to let their imaginations run wild and go full fantasy.

I loved AC2, but really disliked AC3. I hope they get rid of those awful optional missions, fix up some of the cutscence/gameplay transitions, and bring back the awesome AC2 hud.

I would, if not for:

1. Pirate crap.
2. Haytham's father.

People liked the sailing portions. I thought they were well done, but I'm playing Assassin's Creed not Pirate's Creed. I want to climby-stabby not saily-swimmy. I also don't give a crap about Haytham or his father.

That map looks legit. /sadface

The map is interesting, one part of me would love a Windwaker like open world to sail in with ports and islands to visit like the smaller missions in AC3, but another part knows it will just be an expanded menu tha was in AC3; but at least the sailing is sticking around which was the best thing to come out of AC3.

I imagine it is numbered because it is the start of a new story arc or something, the numbered titles have always used a new protagonist, and I'm fine with that as I really wasn't into Connor.

To be honest, I'm actually excited for the series again, AC3 and its general world, story, and the steps it took backwards compared to previous titles kinda bummed me out on the series; but taking one of the best parts and making a game around it could be really sweet.

Still waiting for Victorian London or similar location, at this point it seems less and less likely, I wonder if there will be another tie-in Vita game.

I'll be curious to see if this still has the free-running stuff.
If there isn't ample opportunity to make the most of that, I may well be out.

What's good about this is they can finally get rid of all that traversal stuff and the last remnants of those assassinations that we all hated and start focusing on those clumsy, clumsy naval battles instead. Really understand the heart of what people want from an AC game.

Did we just become best friends?!

I'll be a ninja and you can ironically be a pirate.

This has the potential to be great. Hope they don't fuck it up.

Just looking at the map makes me excited. Hope we have the freedom to sail to any town/port and little island whenever we want. I also hope there's a dynamic weather system aswell like a thunderstorm. That would be glorious.

Imagine having to sail through a huge storm and you're struggling to get to the nearest port. You have to hold it out as the water hits your boat.

I'm actually looking forward to this one. Didn't really love the American Revolution setting of AC3 but fucking pirates in the Carribean? Sign me up.

Let's just hope it's not meh like some of the more recent AC games...

game needs ghosts, voodoo, krakens, the guv' virgin daughter and all sorts of crazy shit to even get passable mention.
Tyranny of Washington has a much better "setting" than vanilla III.

the "IV" is damage control after Revelations took well deserved shit.

popcorntime.gif when we get news about the current days parrallel story or possible lack of it.

Worst thing is that I'll probably think about getting it, if only to feed my new Next-Gen Overlord console. Sighhhhh.

Cuba, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Bahamas, but only Haiti from Hispaniola and no Puerto Rico? Damnit, 17th century San Juan would be amazing. I totally want to climb around El Morro and San Cristobal, the fortresses (still) guarding the bay. There are also really cool Robin Hood style stories about the pirate Cofresi from my family's home town of Cabo Rojo in the southwest (to be fair, he lived much later than the time of the game).

The setting is wonderful. I'll get this if it comes out for PlayStation 4, as I skipped Assassin's Creed: Revelations and Assassin's Creed 3.

Spoken like a true Puerto Rican!

Please have a personality... please have a personality...

God I see why they drew out Ezio over so many games, Alteir and Conner were just so bland personality wise which is a shame since their settings could have really made some characters to shine.

I'm still sorta hoping for AC setting in Netherlands 'Golden (17th)Century'. Think about it:

- cities like Amsterdam, Haarlem, Alkmaar, Utrecht & Leiden were all booming and very close to each other.
- A'dam was one of the most multicultural trade centres of the world. VOC was founded as the first multinational corporation with shareholders.
- Protestants from Belgium and Germany were pouring.
- Windmills were suddenly erected everywhere as cheap sources of energy, starting up a network of industrialized areas with immense output.
- Netherlands had a monopoly on trade with Japan.
- There were a shitload of scientists/philosophers/painters doing groundbreaking work (Grotius, Descartes, Huygens, Spinoza, van Leeuwenhoek, Hals, Rembrandt, Bol, Vermeer, Potter, etc) which could function as interesting characters around the protagonist.

... But a AC in the Carribbean sounds pretty cool too =)

I'm still flabbergasted at the bitching about yearly sequels and AC3. Maybe your backlogs are too big and can't keep up? I love these games and as long as they're still good (they are), why complain? Oh, because YOU don't think they ARE good. ShirleyThatsnice.gif.

AC III was a pretty big misstep for the series, and Connor is without a doubt the worst protagonist out of the three, so I'm glad they're ditching him and the boring colonial setting.

I'm still not happy with the annualization of the series though.
