Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | February 2013 | The most desirable handheld in Japan

Is VitaGAF excited to see the huge hardware bump next week? Really hope things pick up for the system, as leaving the market to Nintendo would cause them to become laaaazy.
I'm going with 63,794 units sold and I'd be totally chuffed with that. It'll still get comfortably outsold by the 3DS and it'll only get a week in the sun before it drops again, but, a bump is a bump. Those 'sold out' signs are awesome whether they sold 3 units or 30.

Don't be silly, everyone here is a Vita muffin.

P3P is a decent game that cuts some things from the console version, making it subjectively an inferior version of the game which annoys some people.

Its far from being BAD however.

And MHFU is a fun game that Toto doesnt like. You should learn to ignore negative posts by Toto overall :p The games Toto likes, are usually actually good though.

P3P also adds a whole lot of new content not included in the console version. A lot of people consider it the definitive version.

The female character is exclusive to P3P, but The Answer from P3FES was cut out. There really isn't a definitive version IMO.

Not really world-changing or anything, but definetely touched up. Kinda of expected, they had time to touch up the game after releasing the demo and the complaints probably helped.

Just see the latest trailers and the latest official pics. I don't really see the textures being like that, even when they are far away from the character.

God... you're really fucking annoying... I never thought I would find someone even more annoying than myself, ugh!

You know they corrected the textures, right? Not that you really care, you won't even end playing the game anyway...

Back to ignore list.
No..go and see the trailer again, the pixelated grounds are everywhere(seriously).

here is one example from the link in your post. ( actually cyborg009 post)

^see.

the only place it was removed/fixed was the two new screens, but I'm not sure if they are bullshots or not.

and by the way, I pre orderd the game from Amazon.com.

Thats how I see it too. Some difference cater to different preferences and playstyles *shrugs*

Oh no, the game is blurry when upscaled to 4 times it's native resolution and viewed on a screen 10 times as big!

That is not a blurry effect because upscaling video and not because of youtube or jpg format, just look carefully,it's the same as in the demo and screenshots from the demo,in the end the effect Maedhros said they "corrected" is still there, SCEJ/MarAQL didn't fixed that.

Yep, I highly dislike the aimlessly wandering that most RPG's seem to be plagued of. P3P menu based transportation is better for me. Don't get me wrong I enjoy directly controlling my character but in most RPGs it's pointless to do so in towns, there's zero advantage to do it from a gameplay perspective.

Yeah, but if you're going to do that, then at least represent my character with something better than this shapeless blue blob thing.

Totally took me out of the experience.

It's part of the immersion experience, part of the package.

if it was pointless,if having a world add nothing from "gameplay perspective", then graphics will add nothing too and sound too and devs can just replace the characters in every games with texts and green dots.

Hey man to be fair we had that at one point...and some people still like that, a lot (personally ambivalent), Dwarf Fortress and what not.

Preach it, Vita-sis.

Sure why not, I enjoy minimalistic styles too. Of course if helps a lot but most of the time in RPG's it's so bland that I don't find it immersive at all. In this case, I think it's better this way.

So, what we need is an ultimate Vita version. Get to it Atlus. You would think the amount of work needed to be done would be lessened by P4G's existence.

There's obviously a certain bar at which a game can lose you with lackluster visuals or sound but that bar is way WAY below P3P. As an example I find Zelda: Link to the Past extremely immersive and it's not exactly running on a high tech computer.

Totally valid points of view.

I just think about it this way - some people would love it if Dark Souls had a super convenient world map with a big white cursor to traverse all around the grand little universe From Software created.

I am not one of those people. So at least give me the choice.

I'd already played and beaten P3 before, so the lack of menus in P3P didn't bother me at all. In fact, it was nicer cause I could just zoom through areas at a much faster rate that you can in FES. I'm all for ease of access and speed over how clunky the PS2 versions are by comparison. Especially after playing Golden, it's hard for me to adapt back to that.

New thread should be up in a bit!

Okie dokie, got my Vita in. Came with Wipeout 2048 and an 8GB memory card. Should suffice for now, right?
I've registered the Vita with that site that gives you $20, didn't seem like it was registered before, so that's neat.

Now, what games should I get? I have PS+, so I have whatever games comes with it... Katamari any good?

So P3G with all of the P3FES and P3P content and with the updated gameplay mechanics of P4G? Will buy on day one.

Long time Vita owner (proper NA launch, not the early bundle). I am also one of these many game owners I've been reading about here and in the indie thread that own and buy a lot of games. I have lots of disposable income. (SUPER HYPE for all of these upcoming games, especially Hotline Miami and Thomas).

Probably going to snag Hot Shots before the sale ends, and was excited to see the JAW post about the sale in two weeks since I've been waiting to get Oddworld and never played that game. The two games I've dropped the most time into are P4G and Lumines. I'm working on plat on my second playthrough of P4G but got sidetracked when XCom came out.

I work a lot and like most GAFs have a good sized game collection and backlog. Just coming in here to voice my support and I've been religiously following this thread this month. Thanks for allowing me to finally find a place where people are as enthusiastic about Vita as me. I have very high hopes for this machine and am excited for its future.

Like a true ninja, brutal and merciless.

Hopefully the port is good, I didn't sold my DOA5 copy (for few bucks ;_; ) just to get an inferior port,Team Ninja better deliver here.

i have the 40$ in my wallet just for this but am second guessing myself.

what seems to be the consensus thus far....and heard its crossbuy that true?

thinking about April already?

DOA5+ in is March..this mean March > April.

I am thinking about april for a while now. Ever since I know that Fire EMblem release date tbh >_<

Never got into DOA unfortunately, "my" beatemups were Soul Calibur, Tekken and Mortal Kombat.

US release for SS is April 30

The Asian release date is a placeholder 'Summer'. I'm not sure when summer is over there but I'm guessing that the US release will predate it. And if not, waiting for the US release (or importing the US release to avoid a late EU release) is the best bet so you aren't stuck with slow Asian server multiplayer, and getting to play with US NeoGaf members.
