I did, and the technical problems are not as bad as people are saying (as usual).

Yeah, that's what I feel after playing it for a while.
Initially though, I was very put off (especially after playing Razor's Edge beforehand, which ran at a higher framerate). So I can understand the complaints to some extent.

The Asian release date is a placeholder 'Summer'. I'm not sure when summer is over there but I'm guessing that the US release will predate it. And if not, waiting for the US release (or importing the US release to avoid a late EU release) is the best bet so you aren't stuck with slow Asian server multiplayer, and getting to play with US NeoGaf members.

huh weird..isn't Asain/HK releases are in the same day as the Japanese date for Sony games (in most cases anyway?)

Not necessarily, and only when they're the same game (same language: Japanese) to my knowledge. The Asian version of Soul Sacrifice has Japanese, Chinese and English text, which is probably the reason for the delay.

I've heard the puzzles in this game are frustrating, is that true? I've been considering picking it up since I am going through a gaming lull.

I consider the puzzles and jump&run of Alundra way more frustrating tbh. I cant remember much of the end of the game, but the puzzles so far were usually rather straight forward, although still challenging at times. There definitely is some timing based running involved however, which some people are allergic to.

Its still a fantastic RPG with much to explore and a nice chunk of challenge coming from the RPG aspects alone. (Actually challenging boss fights)

Finally able to check my account on PS3 and yayyy I got that $10 credit (better for all the shit I probably shouldn't have bought over the holidays).

What should I get? I'm thinking some star wars tables.

I don't think I ever got stuck on a puzzle in wild arms and I was really young when playing it, it's not any harder than zelda puzzles I think, I actually love the puzzles. anyway here's how the puzzle work, you got three character, over time each of these character got 'tools' like bombs, flying rat pet, etc, you can switch character anytime and use these tools too solve puzzles.

The daily training, which is the most important part of Smart As, doesn't use the AR-games. So the AR-games shouldn't be the reason to not buy it. I guess I played something like ten hours of Smart Ass and I did every AR-game (total of 3/4) maybe one or two times.

Barely saw this reply, but thanks for the clarification. Hmm guess I won't be saving money then lol.

I'm thinking of picking up Smart As and EDF 2017.

Nah, not really. Alundra is much more difficult (goddamit ice pillar puzzle in one of the dreams got me stuck for weeks when I was younger).

Wild Arms is fucking great IMO, much better than the remake even (which is totally animu crap, they destroyed the story. The extras were great though - not the extra characters though).

I need more turn based game or games that do not require quick/precise timing input.

I can't play actiony games like Ninja Gaiden/Gravity Rush/Sinemora/ Strangers Wrath and many others on a car/train.

I've been playing persona 4 during commute and it is really nice, but now that I'm on new game plus and use a guide for max social links, it's less practical to play that game during commute because I also need the guide ready.

I can play psp/ps1 rpg I guess, but Vita still need more turn based rpg/strategy/slower paced game. maybe I'll play ff4 complete or replay wild arms, it's been awhile.

I get ya...

Let's hope this "Vita bump" makes more developers announce games for the Vita.

Come in here to reporting my purchasing of Smart As, see people talking about Smart As. Other than this game I pretty much own everything worth having in the sale, hope they do another one that includes EDF 2017, Sumimoni, or Lumines.

Try Plants vs Zombies, Dokuro, and New Little King's Story.

Didn't the Rainbow Moon developer say that they'd offer some sort of discount for the Vita version if you own the PS3 version already? I really hope that happens.

no. just a discount if you want to buy both.
"Although we can’t afford to do a completely free download for all buyers of the PS3 game, we are definitively looking into discounted options for customers that wish to purchase both release versions at the same time... we won't be charging double the price if you want to buy both releases at the same time."

Rainbow Moon is garbage anyway. One of the few PSN purchases I regret making.

Hey, since you love you some Urban Trial Freestyle...
Do you know where a lot of the cash bags are? I'm missing a lot in some of the stages but they're unknown in terms of whereabouts to me.

I found some nicely hidden ones but then stopped looking for them since there wasnt anything for me left to buy. Which level do you want to know?

I just got done playing some Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus. So far I've really enjoyed it. The combat is fast and fluid, and the game is gorgous for a fully 3D Vita game with a playable framerate.

Only problem so far is trying to navigate the menu's and the main hub, thanks to the fact I don't know how to read kanji. Its been alot of trial and error so far and Im probably going to need to find a video or a guide to help me fully figure everything out in the game. If anyone can help me in that department or direct me to somewhere that can it would be greatly appreciated.

can you screenshot the menus?
if so maybe post them in the senran thread and some kind Gaffer can shop in the stuff and we can get it posted in op....i know im going to need it as well when game comes

I will try and get a few screenshots next time I play the game. There's a few actual menu system at the start and then a Hub within the game where the different modes and options are. So far I'vemanaged to figure out the save system and the character select and customizing section of the hub. I also did manage to get into the actual combat sections that loked like the storymode.

I'm saving my Kaz bucks for Hotline Miami. It should be released in spring, so April or May at the latest I guess.

US PS+ March clues: Big critically acclaimed shooter, highly acclaimed strategy RPG on Vita, fighter for IGC, PSN game w/ highly acc. writer

What do you guys think it is? New little kings story?

The Kraken’s Sad Backstory in Soul Sacrifice:

There was once a captain who loved his merchant ship more than anything, even his own family. One day, his ship was attacked by pirates. His crew was slaughtered and the captain was captured along with his beloved ship. Seeing the pirate flag hoisted on top of his ship’s mast was the worst part of all.

After being thrown out into the sea, the captain managed to survive. Afterwards, he vowed to reunite with his beloved ship and got a hold of a warship to take on the pirates. Before long, the captain became known as the “Pirate Killer”. One day, the captain finally saw the pirates on his beloved ship. He chased them down and boarded the ship.

The pirates weren’t going to simply hand him over the ship and fought back. Unfortunately for the captain, he took a heavy blow from the pirate leader that took him down in one hit. Crawling on the floor nearing death, he prayed as he begun to lose consciousness, “I don’t want it to end here, I want my ship back.”

At that moment, he heard a mysterious voice from the depths of the sea.

“I shall grant your wish. Are you prepared to pay the price?”

The bloodied captain nodded. Then, out of nowhere, giant entrails protruded from his body, attacking the pirates one by one until there were none left standing. The delighted captain was relieved, as he was back with his beloved ship… or so he thought.

Ironically, a mysterious secretion oozed out of his body and began to melt the deck of the ship. The gaping hole caused his ship to sink into the sea, as the captain clung onto the ship and went down with it. While sinking down with the ship, he heard that same voice again. “Further desires require further prices to pay. You still have more to offer—“

After floating back to the surface, the captain immediately got back on the warship. He killed the entire crew and began to tear apart the flesh off their bodies. As he collected more flesh, his appearance changed into something familiar… it was the look of his beloved ship.

The captain wasn’t satisfied, he was still incomplete. In order to become perfect, he required more material. Not only did he lose his body, but he also lost his heart and himself as a human being. He drifted off into the sea in search of more flesh to reproduce what he once loved.

New Little King's Story isn't a SRPG. If the game is Disgaea 3, I'll renew my PS+ subscription (again).

There's a big critically acclaimed shooter on the Vita?

Edit: Never mind, PS+ in general. Persona 4 Arena please, although it might end up being DoA5 so that Tecmo Koei can promote DoA5+ on the Vita. :/
