Now that I'm done with Dishonored (Clean Hands + Ghost + Mostly Flesh and Steel + Shadow get), I thought I'd move on to something else. Primordia I have to download and I'm downloading other stuff at the moment, so in the meantime I decided I'd play something else I'd started at some point but never finished... only:

- Metro 2033 wants to download 6.5GB of crap
- The Medal of Honor folder I deleted from Steam's downloading folder was apparently the entire game that, for some reason, didn't move to steamapps
- I unknowingly re-installed Munch's Oddysee rather than Stranger's Wrath

This is why I don't play games. :(

So am I getting this right in that grabbing Anno 2070 + the DLC pack is cheaper than grabbing the complete pack? Or am I failing visual standard maths?

I don't want to grab it because of the DRM but fuck it.

Nevermind. Quickly scanning the last few pages for info.

Metro 2033 is a pretty short ride if that sort of thing intrigues you. I have 9.1 hours played and I'm pretty sure I went back and dicked around with the game a bit for other achievements.

Since I finished up Skyrim I think I'm gonna dig into Condemned next which sat on the backburner for a month or so after I picked up on the last GMG sale.

There's an idea. I'm also currently eyeing Torchlight 2.

You are wrong. Getting it installed correctly IS the game. You win if you are able to play :p

Evidently I'm not very good. :p

Yeah, I was aiming for something I could complete over the weekend. Metro 2033 in particular is one game I've been meaning to get back into ever since I purchased my first 670 (it couldn't quite hold 60fps at max settings on a 570).

I got both. I'm probably gonna target playing a level a sitting. Horror games tend to make me feel fatigue due to continuous tension, but portioning them up works well for me with the Silent Hill games.

yeah, condemned is better for this than something like amnesia

fuck amnesia :(

Random thought: that guy who worked on Source 2 mentioned in his LinkedIn that he moved a large portion of the L4D2 codebase over to the engine. What if L4D2 and HL2+Eps got switched to the engine just to remove loading? That would be pretty sweet to replay HL2 and have it completely seamless or play through a whole L4D campaign without a load screen.

fuck amnesia :(

I was gifted Amnesia a while back and I'm still afraid to play it. It's gonna give me an ulcer or something. Just seeing it in my list of games to beat makes me feel tense.

I gave up, couldnt even handle it with a friend

I played a bunch of it, and the entire golden potato dlc, but all at daylight. Playing the game at night gets me way too tense to enjoy it, aint even afraid to admit

I have you beat on that point. I bought Amnesia a few weeks back, but as a gift to myself. I'm too scared to even activate the code in my library :D

I have trouble playing horror games as well.

Its that feeling if tension that I cant handle over long periods of time.

It helps if I take my headphones off and leave them on the stand. The 3D positioning is just too damn realistic.

Amnesia is a strong game, yeah. When I played it for the first time, I was glad to finally die, so I could have an excuse to turn it off and get the fuck away from it. I only lasted 80 minutes, and they were probably the most nervous I've ever been with a game. I was still kinda shaking after going to bed.

A couple of months later I played with some friends, and they weren't scared. The guy playing ruined the mood by picking up and throwing everything in every room. So don't play with friends, do it alone in a dark room with earphones. And then cry like a little girl (or boy :p), you know you'll want to.

Am I right in thinking that to get the most complete version of Anno 2070 I need to buy:

Anno 2070: Deluxe Edition (not included in "Complete Pack")
Anno 2070: Deep Ocean (not included in "DLC Complete Pack")
Anno 2070 DLC Complete Pack

That sound right? You'd think they'd have an *actually* complete pack for this sale. Jeez.

Anyone have GTAIV:episodes installed?

It was working for me a few months ago, but now I can't even start up the game. A quick look to the steam forums suggests it may a recent problem, though the game is so old now, I suppose many people have not tried to open it up.

Anyone care to test it out? Cheers.

Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 or whatever the new one is called. Yesterday it still showed the whole name. Now its just a ValveTestApp.

This is just an attempt to keep the game hush-hush. Double Fine did the very same thing when Brutal Legend was discovered.

Works for me. Well, I reached the selection screen, at least. Should I go further?

Same here, got to the starting screen without any problems.

There is a rumor floating around that CS:GO might be going F2P in the future. The evidence surrounding it is really flimsy, so I'm hesitant to make a new thread.

1) Apparently one of the members of a competitive team talked to a member of the HLTV.org site and told him GO was converting to F2P. This is kinda dubious because anybody can say anything on the internet, but stranger things have happened.

2) A recent patch showed that Valve plans to sell tournament league passes and have item drops ala Dota 2.

CS:GO has, by all accounts, been a massive flop so far. Six months after release and after several sales, it still can't beat CS:S or even touch 1.6 in player counts. A F2P conversion doesn't sound all that crazy. The general consensus is that free players would only be able to play on pub servers and you could "buy" the game to participate in competitive matchmaking (and presumably cosmetics?)

I wouldnt call it a flop, and id argue that Valve.at no point expected people to suddenly switch over from 1.6 or source, that shit just doesnt happen, or at least it takes quite a while

csgo was all about bringing cs to consoles, and thats that

f2p makes sense tho

I actually chose to watch my friend play Silent Hill 2 for this reason rather than play it myself. I had a face pillow on standby!

I'm playing the original bioshock for the first time and
atlas' family just got killed

I know I'm late on this but this game seems hardly as special as what everyone made it out to be. Cool atmosphere and all but the gameplay itself is pretty average.

Maybe it will impress me more later.

Unless you're a European PS3 owner that is. Still can't believe how badly they fucked that up.

big thanks to Salsa for helping me get Bioshock Infinite
slightly :D
cheaper! Very painless.

Questions. If
/ When
X-COM gets unlocked, does it go in your inventory or library?

edit : first post on new page, woot.

I'm not sure, but if you bought a game (which came with a free game), it'd go straight into your library if you didn't own it, and into your inventory if you did (if it was giftable to friends provided you already own it).

The same happened to a friend. I solved it by installing him XLiveLess, which bypasses GFWL.

Be aware, you have to have a a fairly powerful computer to actually run it, as the port is mad unoptimized. It's still a lot of fun if you can play it, though.

But if your CPU clock is higher than 3.2GHz it'll run faster than intended.
I don't mean 60fps vs 120fps, but 100% speed vs 150% speed, like if it was speeded up...
There should be a mod that fixes this though.

Well shit! Thanks for the quick warning. Is the full package for the Third worth it?
I can't see its price, but it was $2.50 on Amazon 3 months ago, with a voucher. Without it, the price was $7.50. Of course, I don't know if it will repeat, but if you're not in a hurry, waiting shouldn't do you any harm.

Though I paid $10 for the base game on the last Steam Summer Sale and think it was totally worth it. Getting all the (non-cheats) DLC for $2.50 was just overkill (and you also got the base game if you didn't already have it!)

So if the current price on GG is around $10 or less, I'd say go for it if you wanna play it now. And ring me up if you're in for some co-op goodness! (Steam ID: RionaaM)

A few tidbits have me intrigued about the registry this morning, nothing as mind blowing as the last few days however

1: Postal 1 seems to have appeared, don't know if it was mentioned lately. Early Access was updated 4 days ago. Is this old?

2: Space Rangers, I don't know anything about the game but I know that it was removed from steam at some point. An HD re-release was just put back up incase anyone was interested in it.

3: I notice that Worms Armageddon is getting updated a lot recently. Makes me wonder if they are preparing to release it properly or something.

Do yourself a favor and play through it with a friend.
So much fun. :lol
I would have dropped it without even finishing it without co-op.

SR2 it's renowned as one of the worst port ever.
Luckily, the modders community fixed lots of problems.
