It was a bummer and I still can't really put my finger on why exactly.10% less graphics, but 100% more gameplay.
Man Crysis 3 really is a huge bummer...
From a technical stand point? Yes. Artistically? No.
Uhm, he can still know.
This is a pretty dumb thing to say, I'm sorry but it is
Nintendo doesn't make games?
Also, have you ever looked at the credits for a game? All kinds of people at the developer, publisher, and outside of the company collaborate to make most games.
On to the topic at hand, the game looks fantastic!
What does that have to do with anything? I know that the villain in Ocarina of Time is Ganon but I don't claim to work for Nintendo. You don't have to develop a game to know basic things about it.
How? It's cute when youngsters say things like this for no reason.
Deep Silver is the publisher for this game, this guy works for Deep Silver so he probably knows stuff from the game? What's so weird about that? I really don't get your argument.
He used to work at THQ before it imploded, I think he was the brand manager for Metro over there. If you search for older gameplay videos or interviews about the game he's the british guy with curly hair.
That still does not explain why LonelyGreyWolf is getting upset about that and claim no one knows the difference between publisher and developer.

Is this one going to be fun? I didn't find Metro to be too engaging despite its visuals. Never finished it, in fact.

"It looks fantastic on 360 as well, but [on PC] you have a different potential that you can hit," said Beynon, before revealing there are currently no plans for a next-generation version. "If someone asks me are we doing a next-gen version - well, yes we are. It's the PC. We're one of the few studios out there that have a proven piece of tech that's built for high-end PCs. I firmly believe that the PC version of Metro: Last Light is one of, if not the best looking game you can actually buy, period, at the moment."
I wonder why they wouldn't put it on PS4?

But will the PC version get higher res assets this time? They claimed so the first time but they game was the same size as the console versions and the only thing that looked better was the lighting.

Putting it on ps4 would be bad because it wouldn't have all the bells an whistles of the pc version. It would look bad
I've grown a despise for publishers. Developers aim to make good games. Publishers aim to make good money. The majority, anyway. It annoys me when a man working for a publishers act as if he is developing a game. He's not. He's doing PR for it. As for the last thing you said, I didn't claim that "no one" knows the difference, my response was at only one user.
A few questions to answer...
Ranger Mode - it's included in the initial production run of the game. A pre-order basically guarantees it. But it'll also be available as DLC from day 1.
We live in a world where retail demands you have a pre-order offer in place. We figured this was the least abrasive option. We really wanted to do a cool limited edition, and you can read why that didn't happen here:

Also - Ranger Mode is really suited to a second playthrough, I'd really advise against jumping straight into it. You need to learn the control scheme before we take the HUD/UI away, it's much more complex than 2033 was.
Please answer this for me, how will my 670 sli setup fair with Metro Last Light? If a gtx590 can come close to maxing Metro Last Light I'll be happy.A few questions to answer...

That GameSpot footage - it's from our late November build. That's me playing (yes, with a controller - I think Metro plays better that way) on PC. We used our trailer agency's capture rig, the same machine we use for footage for the trailers. It's packing a single GTX 590. We'll show you some capture from triple SLI Titans at some point...
Yes, we support 360 pads on PC
PS4 etc. - we might, we might not. If we think there's a commercial opportunity for a next-gen version we'll do it. I guess the question is, would a PS4 early adopter want a previously released game, or something new?
Me - yeah, I'm the Brit with the curly hair. My patience for the lazy, cliched depiction of the publisher / developer divide is as thin as the parchment they signed the Magna Carta on.

dammit I hate spiders in games, going to have my mom on speed dial when I play through this
Expanding on that: are there going to be English subtitles that expand beyond the main story dialogue? Very little of Metro 2033 actually had subtitles, which meant ALL the non-core dialogue had no subtitles, like idle chatter, the Commissar's speech, and other such moments, which really detracted from the overall game experience.
I hated that shit in Metro 2033, there are some really cool side conversations that i can only listen if i set the game audio in english and i really wanted to play the game completely in russian.

Pretty obvious don't you think
Anyway all that info sounds great. I don't think my single 670 will max the game at near 60 fps but if I can do over 30 all the time I'll be happy. Doesn't need high frames for a single player experience I don't think
